CLOSED! …at least for the most part. They have a Sat Farmers Market, but as best I can tell, no food.

What the hell is this place now? All food is gone. I guess they have a farmers market and some puppet shows for kids now. I really don’t get it. The trailers died one by one with little to no explanation or notice. It’s like they wanted the place to fail with 0 consistency in hours, direction of what the purpose is, etc. RIPNATY.

Let me start off by saying I’m not remotely interested in the food establishments that the NATY has to offer now that Good to Go is apparently closed. However, this is one of the few trailer yards in town that seem to have their act together. I brought my kids to the newly formed Saturday farmer’s market and they loved it. In addition to having great produce vendors we were able to score some old NES games from a random vintage boutique trailer that was set up. While I was shopping for things my daughter will never eat she was kept occupied in the playground and later she got her face painted. While making it to the farmer’s market is a bit of a pain with kids in tow, it was made slightly easier by the activities that the NATY set up.

I am so happy that the NATY is raising the coolness factor of north Austin. I love Snarky’s. I love that there is live music on Friday evenings and kid’s music shows on Sundays. Also, there is a shaded playground. I would give this place five stars, but I have made plans 2 – 3 times recently and the carts aren’t always open when they say they will be.: /

This place has gone down hill. Since the Gyro truck left… I find myself going less and less. When are they open? They never seem to be or at least they’re inconsistent on what hours the park actually opens. I was there at 5:50 on Weds and no one was open? The owners of the park are a little rude(They own Moo, Bark Oink which is my least favorite trailer there). I was excited to see this pop up on our side of town but the selection of trailers has become lack luster. Not to mention I consistently cant’ seem to find anyone open when I need to eat. Meh…

Solid Variety and Reasonable Prices, essentially it is everything you look for from a food trailer park. You have a hot dog/hamburger trailer that also makes snow cones during the summer. A Carolina-style BBQ place that makes a mean pulled pork. A vegetarian trailer that looks good but that’s not my style. And a Louisiana Cajun Po-Boy trailer. Which lead to my only question, Where’s the Tacos? This is Austin there is a taco trailer on every corner of this city except for this one. But in all seriousness this little spot is exactly what North Austin needed. It is the perfect lunch spot with ample parking. If you haven’t been here yet you are missing out.

Checked out NATY for the first time this weekend. What a cool little place. A great variety of food trailers including my favorite — SHAVEDICE!!! Makes me feel like I’m back in Hawaii :). There’s plenty of seating(including some covered seating), a nice play area for the kids, dog-friendly, and the music — very cool. Conveniently located at Anderson Lane, 183& Lamar intersection. I can’t wait to return and experience this cool party place again.

*riiiiing* *riiiiiiing*(or however you would spell the onomatopoetic sound my iPhone makes) Me: Hey babe! Wife: Hey honey, I thought you’d already be home by now. Me: Nah, I stopped to grab a bite to eat on the way home. Wife: Oh, I was worried. Ummm… What’s that noise? Me: *pauses* You wouldn’t believe me if I told you! Wife: Sounds like some kind of party. Me: Yeah, apparently I stopped to eat at the NATY, and a Greek wedding broke out. I’ve been a few times to the North Austin Trailer Yard, but usually during the day. Always had decent to exceptional food, always at good prices. Apparently, I’ve been doing it wrong. In the last hour of the day, with a cool breeze from the first cool front of September blowing, the NATY turned into a party. Instead of being just an efficient place to get a variety of tasty food, the Gin Blossoms tune blaring over the loudspeakers stopped in lieu of Zorba’s Dance. Mothers and their children got up and locked arms with the charming gyro truck owner, and kicked and swayed off a few of the calories they had just consumed. The customer-brought-in beer and wine added to the festive nature. Smaller kids played in the playground, and other folks played, errrr, that beanbag toss game. Truck owners were out and about, chatting with each other, or other folks that happen to be passing through. But yeah, I get the impression that the NATY can be a party at any time. And cooler temps will only help. Sure, it could use some more choices, but, like life, it’s always in a state of flux. A food truck will go, and another will take its place(sometimes, the same truck!). Which is why I’ll save individual truck mentions for their own Business Page. I came home last night with a fairly large smile, which doesn’t often happen when I dine alone. But, really, I wasn’t alone. I was dining at the NATY.

Loved it! We went on a sweltering Saturday afternoon with a six pack of beer. Moo Bawk Oink gave us some ice to keep our beer cold. Thank you much. The place wasn’t as crowded as I thought it would be. But it was very hot with rain storms in the area. We ordered food from 4 different truck’s /trailer’s. Ate some and took the rest to go. I was a bit ticked that one truck wasn’t opened because I’d read good reviews of their food(Ramen Vendor) Oh well. I can’t say enough good thing’s about this place in this overall review as I’ll address the vendor’s individually with their own reviews. I will state that we visited Moo Bawk Oink, Dog Pound, Big Fat Greek Gyro’s and Johnny T’s BBQ and we loved it all. Good, friendly local business’s that you should support. A+

My 15 year old said just a few minutes ago as I sat down and logged into Unilocal, and came to this review. «well, I liked the place, but they didnt have a lot of food choices». And shes right. BUT, to the NATY’s defense, Im hoping(heavily) that some ordinance doesnt limit them to what and who is there, and that more folks will join in and be a part of a super dope lookin NATY family up there! We were there from 7:30−9& I LOVED how most of the Chefs, and folks that worked the NATY all sat down at a picnic table, listening to the reggae band, and sipped and ate. That was cool! Love the love! LOVE the Austin feel of this place. LOOOOOVE that is NORTHSIDE, and love that you will NEVER have to fight for some parking! Eat THAT South Side! LOL(j/k– I dont want to get hit with eggs) It was sad to know we used to eat awesome Chinese food in that SAME spot for years, but the replacement is warmly received. Groovy lil play ground for the chirrins. Fun photo op’s with the animals in the middle of the lot. Lots of shaded seating, pretty darn clean for outdoor eating & they have outdoor misters to keep you cool! I can totally see me and my fam sitting outside, enjoying the different food and dessert choices, sippin on some joe and watching the sun go down. Im impressed. And, we were a happy bunch of folks this evening. Thanks NATY.

Woo, just visited The NATY today!(In the rain!) Cool concept they’ve got going on — building on the foundation of a burned down business. I liked the way they set themselves up in a circle, and put a bunch of seating in the middle. All of the metal animals give it a theme, and it’s very relaxed here. I’m looking forward to coming back and trying some of the other trucks(I tried Snarky’s/Krak 2 today.) I saw that Johnny T’s BBQ is opening a food truck here soon. Even better! Thanks for creating a food truck yard for us north side peeps!

The Naty has got to be the coolest name of a food park ever. This trailer yard boasts some pretty fun and exciting trailers, spanning from Ramen to gyros. There is ample seating under a covered tent, and live music fills the air. The atmosphere itself is a little boring, as it is just sit in a large parking lot, but I guess you can’t get too picky. Only 4 out of 5 stars for reasons why: only one medium sized trash can and dirty tables. They had one guy that worked at the Ramen noodle place cleaning tables but he only cleaned two of the long tables and then stopped — we had to flag him down to clean our table and he did it ½ ass.

The Naty has got to be the coolest name of a food park ever. I mean… Naty. It just screams, «America.» This trailer yard boasts some pretty fun and exciting trailers, spanning from Ramen to gyros. There is ample seating under a covered tent, and live music fills the air. The atmosphere itself is a little boring, as it is just sit in a large parking lot, but I guess you can’t get too picky. BYOB is solid, the variety of trailers is adequately unique, and I can imagine that more fun mobile eateries will flock here. Get yo’ NATY on.

Pffft. This was almost too easy. Let’s pick it up from the second verse: ************************ They want you, they want you, They want you as a new recruit! If you like adventure Don’t you wait to enter This huge parking lot real fast, Don’t you hesitate There is no need to wait They’re signing up new trailers fast. Maybe you are too young To BYOB, but Don’t you worry ’bout a thing, For I’m sure there will be Always a good Unilocalie Pouring wine into a glass. In the NATY Yes, you can sail the seven seas, In the NATY Yes, you can put your mind at ease, In the NATY Come on now, people, try a stand, In the NATY, in the NATY, Can’t you see they need a hand? In the NATY Come on, protect the motherland, In the NATY Come on and join your fellow man, In the NATY Come on people and try a stand, In the NATY, in the NATY, in the NATY… ************************ (Editor’s note: Errol M. has been going out a lot lately, and we’re concerned his mind is turning into mush. We have suggested he take a short vacation out of town.)

The Naty is currently home to 5 diverse food trailers: Genuine Joe’s, Moo Bawk Oink, Big Fat Greek Gyro, Dog House and Michi Ramen. The park is family friendly and quipped with a shaded play scape and huge animal statues with bases that can be marked up with chalk. The parking is ample but getting out of the lot can be hectic as the traffic flies by in this area. Right now there is just enough seating however some of the seating is not shaded so BYOS(bring your own sunscreen). You can BYOB so don’t let the sunscreen be the only bottle you bring. What’s to come? They plan to have a market on Saturdays showcasing local artists, crafters and jewelers.

NATY! Had my first taste of the new North Austin Trailer Yard months ago when there was only one food truck and a plan. Now Snarky’s has four new trailers to keep it company and on a Wednesday lunch visit things were going gangbusters. The setting may be austere — a concrete slab in a strip center parking lot — but the NATY folks have made great strides to make it welcoming. A covered dining area and several umbrella tables provide much-needed shade. Whimsical animal sculptures add some Austin funk. This is a most awesome addition to Austin’s north side. To be sure it’s sort of an outpost of Austin’s food trailer scene, but its location makes it a five-star winner for this Northie.

About time Northies got a trailer park eatery! I haven’t tried all the trucks yet, but I talked to the Ramen owner and the Hot Dog trailer owner and they were both super helpful and friendly dudes. The sandwich place has promise as well. The park is well put together and they even have a little play area for the kiddos. I am hoping this place lasts, because North Austin needs more of this kinda thing.

I look forward to seeing how this new North Austin Trailer Park is going to develop. I stopped by here today and had a great chat with two of the trailer business owners, including one of the guys who started up the trailer park itself. They’ve got a nice covered dining area, a potty, a soon-to-come kids area, and a couple more trailers on the way. Plus, plenty of parking! As it is, it looks like a great space is on the way, and it’s nice to see that someone FINALLY did something with the old Buffet Palace slab since it burned down. Jeez, wasn’t that like 10 years ago? Anyway, there’s a Coffee/Smoothie place, a Greek place, a Sammich place, a Hot Dog/Snowcone place, and they’re soon adding a Japanese Ramen trailer and a gourmet Taco truck. They apparently have free WiFi, but I didn’t stay long enough to test it out. Rest assured, I’ll be back to sample their wares, though.
