Came here for a celebration brunch post the half marathon and the food was exceptional. Huge gluten free pancakes(I highly recommend chocolate chips), delicious potatoes, friendly wait staff. It’s rare that I will wait in a brunch line, but if I was going to, it would be here.

I ate here with my family this past weekend. We had about 12 people and the service was great. I like the new location, but kind of miss the old one. I ordered something I’ve never had. It was a Benedict with queso on top. The queso was not good at all and it kind of ruined the dish. It was gritty, runny and had no taste. Next time I will stick to an omelette or pancakes for sure.

It was my first visit to the location on Airport. I was quite pleased with the service and the food. I had the Popeye omelette with the pancakes; the pancakes were pretty good but not amazing, nicely fluffy. The omelette was excellent. The servers kept our coffee topped off.

If I could give a zero I would. Horrible horrible service staff. The dude sitting people today was by far the biggest duck I have ever encountered. He looked like a homeless person, but I could care less about that but he was an ass. Ruined the entire experience. I have never never been subjected to such a rude ass. He was this way with all he came in contact with. If I depended on him to sell my business he would be absolutely out of a job. I would love to post his picture but don’t want to enter his level. I have frequented this establishment in the past but not at the new location and believe me I will never go again! Buddy you are in the service industry… get the hell out!

I have given this place a try several times and i have not been terribly impressed. As petty as it may sound it really bothers me that they only offer sodas in a can, and that they do not have wifi available. I feel like very often people visit breakfast establishments to sip their coffee and work on their computers and so I was a bit frustrated when I was unable to do so. The omelette I had was good, but not impressive enough to go out of my way.

Good for a quick breakfast on a weekday. Not sure why it has lines on weekends. Topping on chili con queso omelette was foamy and not particularly flavorful. Home fries were overcooked. Good service, nice people. Maybe I should have gone with the Popeye?

This is Austin at its best. The pancakes continue to be my favorites. Try whole wheat with chocolate and bananas. The fruit sides and bowls are fresh and generous. You never have to wait for a coffee refill as there’s always someone coming around. It’s locally owned and family friendly. I love the eclectic crowd, diverse, multi generational, hip, in an unpretentious way. Continues to be a breakfast favorite and the new location is starting to feel like home.

No I didn’t order eggs, but leaving here I couldn’t help but be reminded that I’m a little more sunny-side up than scrambled. And not much of an omelet fan. The Buttermilk pancakes are top notch. Maybe the best I’ve ever had. That earned them 3 stars alone. The rest of my experience? 0 stars. The Special Coffee? A buck more and the promise of a roast that’s darker and better than the regular house blend. Not so special. Still watery and a disservice to the quality coffee that Anderson Roasters roasts. 85 cents per item per pancake? Want bananas, pecans, or chocolate chips on your pancakes? That’s the price. Almost too expensive if you want more than one item. Home fries? Make them at home instead. Never been to the old location, but the interior of this is very nice. But not the restrooms. They are dumpy and should match the restaurant interior’s quality. The syrup was good, but I prefer warm syrup than it just to be sitting on the table. The butter is out of this world and helped make the pancakes the real star of the show. Side Rant: If a place this average has an hour wait for brunch, we’re beyond comfortable capacity in Austin. I’m going to have to quit brunch in Austin.

Just goes to prove, haters will hate. This is the perfect place. The food is great. The service is great. Must be why there is always a wait. Five stars for price, atmosphere, service, and food.

The service itself was great. The waitresses and waiters were on it. They made sure our drinks were always topped off and they were very nice. The food on the other hand, not so much. We ordered 2 Popeyes omelets that were supposed to have sautéed onions, spinach, and bacon. The onions were definitely raw and the bacon was overcooked. For being an omelet place I was expecting better omelets. The pancakes weren’t that great either. We ordered 1 buttermilk and 1 gingerbread pancake that tasted like crap. For the amount we paid and for the quality of food we got, we should’ve gone to IHOP were I would’ve paid the same amount and got better food.

Soooo disappointed. Haven’t had Omelettry in years and was excited to get some good breakfast. Picked up my to go order and drove home 10 miles away. Eggs were great, bacon good, but the home fries were literally burned– all of them. I thought it was some new style of Cajun fries or something but no, they were just burned. Wish I could post a picture but I don’t see a way to post one here. My wife’s order was the same song, great omelet but burned home fries.

4 Stars– Atmosphere 4 Stars– Menu options 3 Stars– Prices 4 Stars — Portions Would I go back? Yes, If I was ever in Austin again. What would I order again? The buttermilk pancake and the eggs Benedict with queso. My husband gave and emphatic yes, when I asked if he would have his chili con queso omelette The buttermilk pancake was light and fluffy with the perfect amount of cinnamon and spice. I’m all about the maple syrup. Usually a pancake is a mere delivery system for the syrup, but not this time. I could eat that buttermilk pancake straight up! And love it! If I see eggs Benedict on the menu, odds are, that’s what I will end up ordering. So, the eggs Benedict with queso and crispy bacon was the perfect twist on a classic. It’s hard to get the poached egg cooked just right, with the yoke still runny. They got one out of two right. The fact that they were able to get the bacon to remain crispy under all of that queso sauce, is a miracle! A delightful miracle at that. My husband ordered the chili con queso omelette. He says the eggs were perfectly cooked, light and fluffy with no brown crust. And again, it is noteworthy to mention, that the bacon was perfectly crispy. Breakfast is the most important meal of the day, and this breakfast was big, hearty, and delicious. The happy breakfast trifecta!

I’ve been to Omelettry many times in the past and have had varied experiences: some good and some meh. My most recent visit was so disappointing I’m not sure I’ll return. Luckily it wasn’t busy so no big wait, but the home fries were inedible… as others have mentioned: burned on some sides, lukewarm and hard. My companion got a bagel which was not only a crappy frozen one but was far past its prime and should not have been served(or even on the menu really). The server was mostly absent(had to wave down someone for coffee refills) and he didn’t bother to ask about the nasty bagel’s nearly untouched state. The omelettes were pretty good, as is usually the case, but there are so many reliably good locally-owned places for breakfast that I don’t need to deal with the hit and miss of this spot.

When we arrived, there were a ton of people waiting outside. Inside, there is no one to take your name, you just write it down on a list. Lucky for us, there were two open seats at the counter. When we sat down, it took a minute or two for the busser to clean up plates from the previous customers. Service wasn’t very friendly and I didn’t feel like we had a dedicated waiter which made things confusing. We asked for water but never received it. I also did not get my side of pancakes until after I had finished my omelette and there were no apologies about it. The guy dropped it off and said«dessert» which would have been okay if there was some sort of apology. When we received the check, it only stated what we ordered, no dollar value. The food was excellent but probably wouldn’t go back because of poor service.

I came here Sunday morning around 9 am with some friends and my husband. The wait was very reasonable at ~10−15 mins before we were seated. There is a few benches outside and they even put a water cooler out there for people to have a drink while waiting. The food was really great, we all had pancakes and I had the gingerbread pancake. They were both so good, that I recommend getting one buttermilk and one gingerbread pancake! Aside from the pancakes the my husband ordered the Popeye Omelet and I ordered the granola and yogurt. I would definitely pass on the yogurt with granola as the ratio of fruit and granola to yogurt is WAY off. I didn’t even need more fruit or granola, I just needed less yogurt! The omelets are FANTASTIC so I highly recommend you get those! We all had just regular coffee and it was great, semi crappy, dinner coffee that perfectly fit the bill.

I had been here one time before at the previous location and the food was decent so I decided to come back. I ordered the huevos rancheros would turned out to be a truly regrettable experience. For some horrible reason there was stewed tomatoes on top of the eggs attempting to masquerade as salsa, I suppose. The stewed tomatoes clearly came straight out of a can and had no seasoning added whatsoever. They tasted bland and I immediately remove them. This meal was so crappy that I was still frustrated two hours later. Haha! On top of this, the service was lackluster at best. My server was inattentive despite the place having only a few customers. I would not recommend this place to anyone.

Unilocal family what’s good? Alright I will try and get right to it. I recall moving to Austin and attempted to eat at this place when I first moved here. I don’t recall getting the most welcoming experience so I left. The omelletry has been a staple in Austin going back three decades or so my coworker says. It sat on Burnett road for years until the condos/apartment complex boom hit. I passed it all the more & never thought of dropping on. 8.12.15 my Wife went to the new airport Blvd location and surprised me with breakfast at work. I was happy and thankful for it. When I grabbed the bag the weight told a tale of forgotten food portion sizes. I got it to the office and undressed the Styrofoam plate. The sausage and eggs are nice but what I found next. …yes! I got 2 huge pancakes with syrup. The cakes were hot, flavor filled and soft. You should have seen how my coworkers looked and drueled. I liked the food but will need try more to raise my review.

It is okay. The omlettes looked good and all, as did the toast and food. It was delicious but had to ask for chocolate milk twice. The rye bread was delicious and the mushroom wine omelette was wonderful.

New location, old menu. Sometimes, character comes through perseverence, sticking to what you know. You would be hardpressed to find more than a handful of establishments in Austin that stick to American(perhaps, Tex-Mex as well) classics… with no sign of fanciness and unique menu items. The Omelettry falls into this camp. Here you will find classic omelets, my favorite being the cheese option… smothered with none other than Velveeta queso. Furthermore, you receive two sides, one of which I would highly recommend to be their over-cooked home fries. Large chunks of potato boast a burned one or two sides of the oddly-shaped starch. Black beans sit pretty high on the priority list as well. Aside from omelets, you can have a good ol’ turkey sandwich or perhaps some granola and yogurt – with refined sugar, of course. The Omelettry sits in the good balance of straightforward diner fare but keeping prices low to bring in the masses, loyalists to this Austin institution.

Great new location! Very clean with elements of modern and vintage. Tables still have the cool vintage plastic covers. I wish they kept all the art work from their old space! The expanded counter is great! And now they have an indoor waiting area, if you get there early enough to grab a spot. Given the tall ceilings, you would expect it to be loud in the dining area, but some kind of foam stuff on the ceiling absorbs the sounds, which is awesome and smart. The food as good as always, nothing changed after the move as far as food is concerned. I knocked them down a notch for the service. There were a lot of people waiting for a table, but so many tables sat empty and un-bussed for a long time(like, some were like that for close to 15 minutes). They need to improve their efficiency, bus the tables immediately, and get people in and out! Unless profit is a bad thing…

Charming café serving breakfast and lunch obviously known for their omelettes! It’s too bad the old location was demolished, but the new location isn’t too far! Lots of vegetarian options! Heads up: the portions are HUGE. And I mean HUGE.

The new space is a welcomed rebirth of the original location. Music in the background, nicer furnishings and they take credit cards too. Just avoid the huevos rancheros.
