This place is amazing! No joke, some of the finest cocktails I’ve ever had. The Irish Coffee is the best drink I’ve ever had.

Been going here forever. Love everything about it, including the fact that you probably don’t go there. Best drink value in town, and better drinks than most places at any price. Plus the owner and bartenders are just the best, period. So seriously, don’t go there, I’d rather keep it for myself. But if you must, tell ‘em Mullet sent you.

A good and quaint place to drink in the North Loop area. We ordered the $ 6 proper pint microbrew(20 oz, AFAIK) and enjoyed that. The female bartender was friendly and the pub had a nice vibe within it. It’s a good place to chill out, but not lively enough to search for other singles(or at least it wasn’t when we went). They don’t have HH specials, so I’d recommend going to Drink Well for their $ 6 cocktails during HH, then coming here afterwards. I’d like to return to Tigress in the future!

Pam is an amazing bartender. Sweet, sincere, knowledgeable… She makes a mean black old fashion.

For me, this place works well for the area and is a good alternate to the other bar attractions on this street. I wouldn’t put it on Drink. Well’s level in terms of cocktails and it doesn’t have the fully neighborhood locals feel that Work Horse has. None of this is meant as a knock. It has a style and groove all its own and I like it. It’s more chill and less chic than Drink. Well yet is more refined than Work Horse. They make some pretty good cocktails and the bartenders I’ve encountered here have been nice. While Tigress Pub may be third in line for me for the area, I do like them. I’ve been here a few times already and wouldn’t think twice about returning.

Went for an impromptu drink on a Tuesday night. The place is quaint and charming. Not too big but not too small. Tuesday had maybe 8 other people there. Dim lighting and wood booths line the place. Funny to say, but they have he most comfortable bar stools I’ve ever sat on! The bartender was very friendly, talkative and great at recommending drinks. First, I had The Green Drink! She said you can only get it 1 – 2 times a year! Unique and tasty! Never had a drink with cilantro in it. Good balance of fresh herbs, pineapple and citrus. Second drink, she made a custom cocktail for me. I was in the mood for gin but my favorite drinks are mojitos and vodka presses. She didn’t bat an eyelash and whipped up something exactly to what I asked for. Prices are average for a craft cocktail($ 9 – 10). The green drink was $ 12 but not crazy for the specialty and freshness.

Nice enough place. Priced decently. I know they can make me just about any drink on the planet, but I like a menu with more than 8 drinks on it. It gives me reminders and it’s fun to try something new(more than just the 8 on their menu).

Great drinks. So good! The seating could be more comfortable.

This is easily the tiniest bar that I have ever been to on a pub crawl. However, this tiny bar has a few things going for it(at least before WE arrived), namely; kick ass inventive drinks with fresh ingredients at reasonable prices, super service, great owner who will discuss drinks and menus and ingredients, variety of patrons, including locals, students, date nighters, hipsters, etc., So if you are in the area of North Loop, stop in here for a real craft drink! Get some!

A friend of mine recommended The Tigress Pub a while back. Another friend of mine recommended my wife and I having a date night the week before our wedding. And that we did. And we had the whole place to ourselves on a Tuesday night. The concept of their menu lends itself to limited options, which I can really appreciate in the context of a bar, in a culture where we are enslaved to options. With an ever changing, yet pared-down menu of cocktails, you could come once a week(most budgets probably wouldn’t allow $ 10 cocktails on a weekly basis) and never have the same drink twice. But after our first visit, after tasting some funky twist on a Moscow Mule, my wife and I might miss it next time, if it’s not around. Not much in the way of décor, this pub provides a funky, sometimes creepy space to have a finely crafted beverage. Oh, beer too.

Call me old but I can’t get into limited seating, sports on the tv, nor back exits blocked by heavy wooden tables. Hence the 3 stars. The entire venue is tiny and they have packed in as much as they could. There are a lot if lines that continuously block the path of egress. The staff will serve you from their ok collection of beer and mixed drinks and then the hunt is off to find a place to sit or stand. We were lucky enough to find a seat with some young guys who shared a table with us. My immediate concern is the back exit, which has a lit up exit sign, has a table with 4 heavy chairs and a trash can blocking it. I know more about life safety code than you and this is an unsafe practice. If you are not a hipster, don’t have a beard, don’t enjoy sports, are aware of life safety code, and don’t enjoy over hearing conversations about«titty bars,» this is not the bar for you.

I had an extremely off-putting experience here on a Sunday night, and doubt that I’ll be back. After going out for dinner for my birthday, my husband and I decided to try Tigress for drinks. We had been looking forward to coming here for a while, but had put it off because we wanted to go on a less crowded night(not a Friday or Saturday). Sunday seemed like the perfect opportunity. We live near North Loop and were hoping to find another regular hangout. We walked inside around 9pm, and it was like walking unexpectedly onto a stage and being glared at by a large audience. The place was decently full of people… who were all sitting in perfect silence watching The Walking Dead on TV. Everyone turned to stare at us as we walked in and quickly suffled to the back out of their way. The bartender – who I think is also the owner – approached us. She told us that this was«a special night» for this TV show, and that we could stay – if we whispered and didn’t talk. She handed us a menu and went back behind the bar. It was so awkward that we left immediately. I get that the owner of a bar has every right to run it like it’s their living room if they see fit, but we were made to feel so incredibly uncomfortable that I do not want to come back to this place. I really wish that there had been a sign on the door or at least a notice on the website warning us that the place is basically closed on Sunday nights. If I feel like watching TV, I stay home with Netflix. When I feel like chatting and drinking, I go to a bar. We walked down the street to drink. well instead, and were made to feel welcome. I’m giving two stars because the cocktails did look good, and the prices were lower than other cocktail prices in the neighborhood.

Lovely little bar! Stopped in here for an after dinner cocktail and was pleasantly surprised. The atmosphere is old-fashioned and quaint(in the best way), and the service was great. The whole menu looked amazing, but I chose the drink that spoke to my inner-leftist: The Communist. It was made of gin, orange heering, lemon and orange juice. Crisp and fresh. The only disappointment was that the place closes early! Check the hours before you head out.

Tigress’ new space is great. Mostly because it’s bigger than the original closet-sized space. The drinks are still just as well mixed and moderately priced. They can be on the small side but you have to know what to order. I think it will be tough to keep up a reasonable service time unless there’s another space they serve from. Luckily, we were there during Tuesday happy hour time so it was relatively empty. If it was packed, I can see drink times skyrocketing. As ever on this road, parking can be a bear on North Loop but just get into the neighborhood and you’ll be able to find a space. This would be a good spot to take a date… or to start your night with a pre-drink.

Went to HH on a Tuesday, so maybe not the busiest night but thank goodness because it’s small location. The crazy thing to me was that my friends that met me there said it used to be even smaller! The parking is a little wacky too but those are the only downfalls to this place. I thought the bartender was super friendly, as were the regulars, so that’s always a plus. I kinda stick with beer or tequila but I like to think when a place specializes in cocktails, you get a cocktail. I ordered the Hawaiian Room which was some brandy, rum, pineapple and other fabulousness on a summer evening. I thought it was delicious and it was strong enough that I still felt ok about the $ 8 price. We were a group catching up and it was a perfect place to do that and we even noticed a book club next to us.

I came to Tigress on a Friday evening for happy hour. The Work Horse, our original destination, was super packed, so we decided to venture next door for a cocktail. Not too crowded around 5:30−6pm, but it filled up fast and was bustling by 6:30. The menu offers about 8 classic cocktails. Per Unilocal recommendations, I ordered the Blood and Sand(off menu) which I was told by the bartender is named for the 1922 Valentino film. Scotch, sweet vermouth, cherry heering, and Oj. Quite tasty indeed. In addition to cocktails, Tigress offers about 5 beers on tap, from which you can order a half pint for $ 3, which is pretty awesome if you don’t want a full beer or just want to try something. My primary gripe is the service. Only one bartender on Friday night? A second arrived around 8pm, as we were heading out. As other Unilocalers have described, the bartender had no sense of urgency, often forgot things(like, which drink you ordered 20 minutes ago), and was extremely nonchalant, if not put off, by patrons asking for another drink or their check. There are other places in town to get great classic cocktails, but with much better service.

I’ll need another visit or two before I can offer advice to anyone considering a visit. My first impression, however, was that there may not be a wide selection of brews and spirits to select from, but the cocktail menu is interesting and(from my limited experience) tasty. The interior isn’t all that inviting or comfortable, so this might be a good place to stop after work en route to dinner. And there is no sign out front other than the tiny placard on the door; I ended up at the bar next door, very confused.

When you step into Tigress, you feel like you’re entering a old world speakeasy. The atmosphere is cozy and the décor is simple, but sophisticated. The ever rotating drink menu brings new twists on classics and original creations of owner, Pam. Pam is the Houdini of alcohol, magically conjuring concoctions that will keep you coming back! The crowd is laid back and approachable, always friendly. There is usually conversation overflowing and neighbors meeting one another to catch up while enjoying libations-a-plenty.

I adore this place. It’s cool without the pretentious stares and the trying too hard, can fit a few parties and 4 – 5 people at the bar, and can be easily overlooked if you don’t know what it is. I think it is one of the gems of North Loop. The cocktails are creative and more unique than some of the other places around town that use typical things but just list them really fancy on their menus. Around St. Patrick’s Day, they had a Green Drink, which was just the freshest mint, cilantro, pineapple, jalapeño, and lime juice and it was fantastic. They are around $ 8 – 10 if not more, which I guess is pretty average for craft cocktails around town. They also have a few select beers on tap that are good picks. I’m not a regular because I can’t afford fancy cocktails all the time and do prefer more of the livelier places most of the time, but this is a great secluded and calm area for a chill night with a small group of friends. and anyone in the neighborhood is in for a treat.

The Tigress makes me want to grab my lover and find a booth in a dark corner where we linger for a while. On the table you will see our French 75s and Old Fashions half drank because the atmosphere lulls us into soft whispered conversations as we become drunk on our company and the cocktails; letting the evening end with my lover as it should. Okay, so I’m waxing a bit poetic with my review. Probably because I finished watching Mad Men here last night. This place really is lovely. The expansion gives you a bit more room to breathe and the drinks, oh my! The drinks are so delicious I keep coming back. My favorite is still an off menu choice: champagne and Lillet Rose.
