Stopped by for a tasting. There are a wide variety of flavors and I especially liked the Palehead. The outdoor«patio» area is lacking but the indoor tasting area makes up for it. From what I understanding they are opening another place soon. Take advantage of the«Barks for Beer» sale. $ 20 for a special pint glass that’s good for a free pint in several restaurants and other breweries.

Just get the Thirsty Goat. It is a crowd favorite. We stopped in on a recent Pub Crawl and the place was hopping. Since they don’t sell food, your pup is welcome and we had fun lovin’ on some sweet dawgs! Uh, the four legged ones. They are great at working the crowd and selling their beer glasses. Katherine was there at the door on the one day(Saturday) that we stopped by to explain how it works. Lots of t-shirts and ball caps to pick through and new fun people to meet. Everyone’s happy with a beer. I also love that Thirsty Planet supports Divine Canines, a therapy dog group that sponsors training for dogs to service hospital patients. Just wish they were open for more than 4 hours a week. Rumor has it this outstanding brewery will soon move to a new much larger space on South Congress.

Came in on a gorgeous spring Saturday afternoon and enjoyed my free… yes free… beer tasting here. Now, the«free» tasting is 3 tastes of anything they have on the board in the little taster glasses. There is an option to purchase full pours which includes a glass. I have always been a fan of Thirsty Planet’s beer offerings as I have had them at several brewpubs around Austin. Their Buckethead and Double Buckethead are my handsdown favorites! When I was out and about and headed to some other breweries, I stopped in here and was happy I did. The staff was very nice and there is ample communal seating inside and out. They also offer tours, but I did not take one as I was a bit tight on time. For a glorious afternoon in a chill atmosphere with great beer offerings and a little roadtrip out of Austin, this is a great place to spend it!

Although I go out to drink/eat a lot all over Austin, I have never written a review but for Thirsty Planet and their awesome employees, Allison and Jake, I thought I would make an exemption. This past Saturday, we rented out Thirsty Planet for my husband’s birthday and we could not have had a better time. Jake, our bartender, was excellent! He was fun, attentive, outgoing and professional. Allison, who helped me book the brewery, was excellent as well– always professional and responsive. Thirsty Planet beers and the brewery itself are great but it’s employees like Jake and Allison who will not only keep us going back but also recommending this place to all our friends. Thanks again to all at Thirsty Planet for a fantastic time!

Fantastic place! Staff are all friendly and very knowledgeable about beer. They have the jumbo Jenga pieces so your kids can play outside and you can enjoy some tasty brews. We’ve been there more than 10 times and every time there a few different beers available. My favorite brewery in Austin and I’ve been to nearly all of them.

The Buckethead IPA was awesome! 8.9% and full of deliciousness. I was rather impressed by this brewery and how similar the atmosphere and brews were to the San Diego brew scene. We got a great deal — take home pint glass with three pints for $ 10! Sweet!

Came here for the first time today, its a really cool place. I liked the beers and you really can’t beat the price. Staff were really good, I wish I lived closer, i’d be here all the time. The only downside is it was a little hot inside. But everything else was outstanding, so gets 5 stars from me :)

We’ve attended a few birthday parties here and have always had a great time. The party here in the summer was a little on the TOO Hot side. I don’t know if they don’t have A/C or if it was just broken but all we had were a few table fans and the party attenders were posting up as best as they could next to the fans to try to keep cool. The most recent party here I attended a couple weeks ago was great. Unlimited beer and good catered food from Salt-Lick. I think everyone left quite happy.

If there were 6 stars… My family rented the brewery on a Saturday night for a birthday party. Thirsty Planet was flawless in their delivery! They were professional, yet easy to work with, responsive and surprisingly affordable. Jason did a great job behind the bar causally handling the beer orders while educating those who wanted about their beers. PROTIP: They use Sonos wireless music system, but do not have an external headphones jack. Download Sonos on your phone and the then manage/update your playlists and you can listin to an iTunes playlist by going to «This iPhone»(I assume the same for Android phones) and then Playlists. If you do not want an iTunes playlist, you can create a playlist in Sonos app ahead of time or play Pandora, Spotify, XM/Sirius, etc).

Stop one of three for a brewery tour… I had three of their beers: Lemon Bitch — Special beer on tap. I don’t have any of the ABV info but it had a nice lemon taste to it. Very refreshing for the hot weather. Thirsty Goat — American-style Amber Ale, 6.5% ABV. Had a nice spicy finish with the beer. Yellow Armadillo — Light American-style Wheat, 4.0% ABV. Very refreshing. Had some citrus flavors in there. There is a nice outside area with picnic tables and plenty of seating inside and out. The guys there were so nice. Very engaging and informative when it comes to the beer info. When I make it back to Austin, I’ll definitely be stopping by again.

Great brewery that has tons of games and outdoor space. On Saturdays, you can even get three 4oz beers to taste for free! Or $ 10 for 3 pints of beer!

People/staff are cool, brewery is small/medium size but nice, building is clean and comfortable to hang out in. Beer is AWESOME … fresh, cold and delicious(winning combination in the beer biz). If you are looking to make a day or weekend trip out to Dripping Springs(or Hill Country). this is a definite must stop location. Not only is the beer great … the VALUE is awesome! You pay to purchase a glass and they provide you 3 tasting(not just small flight size. we’re talking a full tasting). I like many of the local breweries in the area. but Thirsty Planet is at the top of my list.

The tour guide was very knowledgeable and gave one of the better tours I have been on. The brewery has a nice outdoor seating area along with jenga and other games to play while you drink. Thirsty goat is a failry good brew however the other offerings on tap were pretty bland and run of the mill compared to other breweries in the Austin area.

As a follow-up, the brewery is dog-friendly! They donate beer and even tips they collect at the tasting bar to local charities, including animal rescues. They allowed our organization, Love-A-Bull to come in to the brewery and help share our cause, as well as collected over $ 700 to donate! We love dogs, and we love beer, so this is a perfect pairing!

Stopped by the brewery for a birthday beer crawl.(Is it really a crawl if you only go to 2 places?) We signed up for the tour online(which is free) but there was no list and it seemed like they weren’t going to do the tour at all. You might have to remind them. Once we mentioned our interest, they announced it and a bunch of people joined in. I’m not sure reservations are really needed at all for this. The tour was fine, nothing to write home about. If you’ve done a tour before you’ve probably seen everything they have. I liked a lot of the beer we had, especially the thirsty goat ale. They were out of the wheat but had a rhubarb beer which was interesting. Staff were friendly and when not totally overwhelmed with people, happy to engage in conversation about the beers. It did get quite crowded and I understand why. The outdoor patio is lovely when the weather is nice and they have tons of games. For me it was a bit too crowded and noisy, but that’s the small price you pay for free — $ 10 beer.(You can either get 3 tickets for a small glass for free or 3 pint tickets + a keepsake glass for $ 10.)

I came here on the first leg of a drinking bonanza. The weather was behaving and so we grabbed a table outside and started boozing it up. It’s cheap to get a few pours and most everything there is close to some ambrosia of sorts. I’ve definitely had the goat everywhere so I was glad to try the only-found in-house bevs. I do not like IPAs so what did I try first, the double bucket head IPA of course. Awesome taste. Not so bitter but leaves you feeling good. Pretty strong so it was a great way to start the morning. I can’t recall the other beers I tried but I do remember leaving happy.

Add this to your list of fun Saturday activities. Sign up for a brewery tour on their website and you get 3 drink tickets and a pint glass to take home. You can take the tour without paying the fee for the glass/drinks, but let’s be real, if you’re taking a brewery tour you like beer and you’re not passing this deal up. It gets a little loud on the tour, so I actually don’t remember any of the details on how this beer is made… or maybe it’s because I was already on pint #3…regardless, still fun. They have a nice outside area to hang afterwards and enjoy the rest of your afternoon. They are only open 11 – 3 each Saturday, but tours happen every hour. It’s a day drinker’s paradise. :)

Well, THIS place is awesome. Heck yeah Thirsty Planet, go you. $ 10 for three pints + a pint glass + brewery tour = fun Saturday. We stopped by this place and had a swell time. The owner/brewmaster was super nice and friendly, in fact, everyone who worked there was awesome. If you don’t want to drink three beers, you get a tasting glass and three free tasters. But then you don’t get an awesome pint glass… Only gripe? No AC(in August, yuck) and it is SUPERLOUD inside. And it seemed that the more people drink, the louder they got and it was just incredibly noisy. If you like Thirsty Planet beers, or beer in general, definitely worth checking out.

More like 4.5. We had a great post-Zoo visit here on a sweaty Saturday afternoon. $ 10 for a sweet glass and three pints always works for me. They’ll also give you a small tasting glass for free, but why bother with that? I’ve been a fan of Thirsty Goat amber for awhile, and this visit turned me on to the Hoppy Blonde and Buckethead IPA. I’ll be looking for all of them at local bars. The«tour» is one room, but hey they’re a small business, which is cool. Very informative, maybe more than the average beer fan will want, but beer nerds will love it and it’s not hard to step out and back to the bar if you get bored. One downside, it was super stuffy in the tasting room. Not sure if their AC was acting up or just couldn’t handle the crowd and the July heat. However, that didn’t stop my group for staying and drinking until closing time. I’d recommend Thirsty Planet to any beer lover visiting or living in Austin.

All good. Very pleasant atmosphere and chill crowd. Great beer, terrific value and even cool t-shirts. What else? Well the tip jar goes to the selected charity, this time summer camp for underprivileged kids. So good, can’t wait for next visit.
