Tire Man

I had bought 2 tires here and they did offer a lower price than anyone else. 9 months later the tires were bald with steel exposed. No warranty was offered at all. If warranties are important to you go elsewhere.

Tire was really low, drove in and they found a screw imbedded in tire. Patched it up and I was out in 15 min. My daughter and I were able to stay in the car while they jacked it up and fixed it. Very grateful

Thanks to the guys at tireman I had my tires changed before 9 a.m. instead of 10:30 these guys were quick I was in and out of there within 10 minutes thanks a lot guys good work on changing my tires this is South Austin best tire shop right behind Dan’s hamburgers on Manchaca and Ben White. I went to NTB National Tire and battery off of 290 and i was the second person in line promptly upon their opening time at 7:30 AM they told me it would be an hour and a half till they could change my tires an hour and a half! I am sure glad I left NTB and went to the tire man shop!

Went in right before a blow out but didn’t know till these dudes quickly removed my tires and showed me. Affordable prices and quick service! Laid back and worth checking them out.

I came here once several years ago, and I’m glad I just happened to be passing by when I did. I lived up north, but ended up blowing out a tire on 71, and saw Tire Man on the corner of Manchaca and Fort View like an oasis. They got a new tire on and I was back on the road in less than 20 minutes. So the next time I needed a new set of tires, I drove all the way from MoPac and 2222 to Tire Man to get them. They gave me the best price, and fastest service, even with the drive. And when I went to pay, the price they gave me in store was a little higher than what they said on the phone. When I asked about this, the owner told me, «If that’s what we quoted you, that’s what we’ll do.», and gave me the original price I stated they told me on the phone. I have never had that happen anywhere else. Usually people make excuses and charge you the higher price. Since the first couple of times I have been here, I now have a staggered wheel setup with 19×9.5 front and 19×10.5 rear. So no matter where I would get tires, they will always have to order them. But Tire Man can always get them within a day where other places say it will take 3 – 5, and Tire Man always gives me the cheapest price. And getting them mounted is always fast. My gf also seems to run over pointy things pretty regularly. So we are consistently getting tires on her car replaced as well, and Tire Man always does a great job and gets us in and out in about 15 minutes! Since discovering Tire Man, I have never gone anywhere else, and never plan to. This is by far the best place I have ever purchased and mounted tires.

My mind is blown. Had a bad valve stem, tried to take the tire to an unnamable generic car shop with Boy in the name, because they’re across the street and I’m lazy. They wanted 3 hours and $ 112 just to replace the sensor and hand me back the tire (for me to install).
Took it to Tire Man instead, they immediately noticed a nail in the tire neither myself nor the ‘Boys’ had spotted. They replaced the sensor, patched the nail, and remounted the tire for me – all for $ 60, and it took all of eight minutes.
Needless to say they are now stuck with me as a customer. Thanks guys.

I drive past this place all the time and haven’t checked them out until today when I needed new brake pads. Dropped my car off with out an appointment and they had it ready in a few hours while I ran errands. Price was fair, customer service was excellent and they have cute dogs

WOW!!! I don’t know about you but I associate getting new tires with being a pain in the butt and taking half a day… NOT THIS TIME! I stopped here at noon on a Monday asked how much for four new tires he said $ 470 total that includes roadside hazard… I asked how long… he said 30 mins. DONE! I walked across the street got a coffee crossed the street again to the convent store… came back and my car was DONE!!! Less than 30 mins… I never planned to have a best tire experience in my life and now I have! I will be coming back for life!!! Thanks guys!!!

Went there to fix a flat tire and some advise on the general state of my tires.
The guys on the shop were ok and helpful.
When I went back to pick up the car and get their opinion of the tires, the guys in the reception were not engaged and didn’t seem very to know about my initial request not were very helpful.
Once I got back to the car no one bothered to place the spare tire back in its place, they put some random valve cover that doesn’t match my set and 1 tyre was not inflated to correct pressure.
Shame to see that local shop with such little attention to detail.

Had a slow leak in my tire. Brought it in and they fixed it quick and it was only 15 bucks! Great service!

I really don’t want to write this review because I fear too many people may start going here… But this place is a hidden gem. I’ve worked at a tire changing place for a couple of years in the past and I know what to look for when it comes to bad/​lazy work. I won’t go into specifics but this place has never disappointed me and I’ve been coming here since 2007. I’m always in and out and their pricing beats most chain stores. Highly Recommended.

Tire purchase: good. Val: don’t like him one bit. Alignment: bad. Val supposedly did an alignment in my car — twice. Yet it only took 10 minutes? All other shops quoted 30 – 40 min minimum.
Second time was good for a short while before reverting back — and getting worse. Third time I brought back he told me he probably just can’t fix it and made me dig through my receipts before he’d refund me. How do they not have customer info in their system? This has been a huge time waster.

Needed a new tire before making the treacherous drive through West-​Texas and beyond to California. Came here as it was nearby and had good reviews, and I’m glad and for good reason!
Was greeted right away, given different price options for different rates of tires (both of which were great deals), had my car taken in almost immediately and was free to go soon-​after. $ 100 even (for a 60,000 tire), which we agreed upon at the beginning. No taxes or hidden charges. Extremely happy with the experience!

I have been going to Tire Man since 2005 when they were off of Lamar and I’ve always had extremely excellent customer service and great tires. It’s s father/​son family business and they are no BS and give you great options.
You can also custom order performance wheels/​tires to fit your specifications. They go above and beyond and I will continue to be a Tire Man loyal customer for years to come! It’s Austin people and this city was built on supporting your local business. If you want honest people and a great customer service I highly recommend Tire Man!

We had a tire that kept on indicating it was low on air. It was a slow leak so we just kept filling it. Finally decided to bring it to tire man after reading great reviews.
Pulled in and within 5 minutes the problem with diagnosed as a small screw stuck in the tread. They repaired it and had us out the door for $ 15 in 15 minutes.

Never left a review before on anything, but I felt compelled to write one about Tire man!
I took my car to Firestone because it was close and convenient and could patch my tire for $ 30. After 90 mins at Firestone I was told my tire couldn’t be patched and my only option was to buy a tire from them for $ 169. No thanks, I’ll shop around or maybe get a used tire.
Called Tire man, had a replacement brand new installed for $ 125. Or a used one for $ 40. Awesome! Got to the shop and in less than 20 minutes, he came out and told me my tire was better than the used one they had and all it needed was a patch.
Could have easily sold me the used one and kept my «unpatchable» tire that had less than 5000 miles on it. Nice to see there is still honest mechanics out there. Earned a lifetime customer. Thanks Tire Man!

I needed a spare replacement for my truck and found this business via Unilocal.
I must admit I checked with one of TireMans’ competitors first (for no particular reason), but they didn’t have my size. They also tried to offer me a tire size that wasn’t appropriate for my truck.(uhhh no) Based on that joints Unilocal reviews though, they were the ‘best priced’ so I was expecting to pay a bunch more at Tireman. NOT the case! I called in, gave him my tire size and he immediately gave me an awesome quote. I swung by and they installed it on my existing rim and filled my other tires for free. I asked him how long the tire would last and he approximated the 40 dollar spare would last me 10,000 miles. That’s more than I could ask for, for a spare! I was in an out of this place is 10 minutes.

A weird little icon lit up on the dashboard of my car. I had to use the manual to figure out that it was the tire thingie.
So…I went to Tire Man on a Saturday morning and had a doozie of a time trying to squeeze between one huge truck, one SUV, vehicles circling around looking for parking at Radio Coffee, and a bunch of dudes just standing there waiting for their cars (is there no waiting room?), but I found a spot! They said to stay put. I figured it would be 2 hours and started writing a thank you note to my 97 year old relative. But oops! Someone zipped around and checked and filled and gauged each tire and in the end it took me longer to figure out how to park at this establishment than it took to be serviced (sounds dirty). And it was free!
Tire Man, you’re the best!
