On my visit to Austin, this was one of the record shops that was recommended to me. Not only because it’s one of a kind but also because you have to try East Side Pies next door. Great selection, the music was amazing and the people were just as friendly. Not sure which staff member was rude to the customer below my review but I’m glad I didn’t encounter someone like that. The guy behind the counter who rang me up was polite and talked to me about my choices. I don’t think you can beat a record store that has Marvel Vs Capcom. You want records? Go. Who cares what the smell is like, who cares about it not having a/c.

First time in the store, and it hit me. Nail polish. It seriously smells like somebody ordered 50 cans of nail polish and dropped them all on the floor and just wiped it up with a paper towel. All jokes aside though. This place is awesome. It seems as if they play used records to check if they are good before selling them. Great move. And all of there used records(no matter what condition) are very cheap, and look brand new. This place is awesome, and right next to a wonderful pizza place(east side pies) so you can grab a snack too! I got Led Zeppilin IV(used) in M+ condition for only $ 15.95. That’s amazing.

You need to have certain expectations to enjoy your time here. There is no a/c. There is very little air circulation. It’s byob. It’s a record shop that has a small area for a band to play. Employees here are super laid-back. It isn’t a clean place. You can hang out outside. East Side Pies is next door for you to grab a bite.

They do Not deserve 1 Star I had to enter it to Post: Rude Employees Yelled at the Band as they were going on On Time! Guy with dark hair dark eyes was playing a tune on record player & he Yells out at the band«Stop, Stop Playing you are ruining my vibe and there’s someone dancing» This isnt’t Guitar Center” then when band finishes they thank the venue & Again this idiot yells out«Yea Buy Someting», a girl comes around collecting donations for the venue! I had my money ready thinking it was for the band! I said No Thanks! Obviously the low class dude employee has no idea how hard bands work to promote the Venues & the Band themselves We Want ONLY Good Guys in the East side that help Promote their venues and Support Local Austin Music not Jerks that mouth off and this guy Represents Austin! As an Austin Concierge I Will Not Tolerate Such immature idiots And the Venues they represent that Do not Appreciate Local Austin music nor will I Direct Visitors their way! Get out of East Austin. Jerks Fan to the Band! Don’t Go there they Very Rude

This place was cool af. The majority of records are punk/indie which is awesome(metal and hardcore fall under this as well as I found). From what I saw the prices were kinda on the high side. But no biggie. I visited antones record shop right before this, and no hate towards that shop, but this is definitely more my style and what I was looking for. Very laid back and the guys working were pretty cool. They also have a little arcade inside too. I will be coming back very soon. I’ll have to get a pizza from next door and a beer before

Don’t let its dingy interior or the random son or daughter of an aging austin burnout musician running around the store stop you from enjoying the store. for a little operation, it’s nice. has a decent selection of goods and sometimes you’ll find something truly spectacular. it’s cool that they have old video game cabinets to play when you’re forced to watch your friends band play.

This place is super laid back &BYOB. Grab your favorite drink from the convenient store down the street and head to this place to listen to some of your favorite records. East Side Pies is right next store so when you’re craving a snack you have a place to grab a bite. Spot and his staff are great & they have an awesome record selection + live bands play most every night.

This is an amazing store that is worth the hunt. Use your GPS to find it bc it is easy to blow right past it. Indie, Punk, Classic Rock and Crooners(eg Sinatra). They seem to carry only what your heart desires. Somehow all of the vinyl is in great shape even when it is 40 years old. Amazing. I will be back.

Grabbed a 24oz Lonestar from the convenience store down the street(a block away West from the shop) and made my way into Trailer Space for some record browsin’ and game playin’(arcade games) with the boyfriend. This is the only way I know how to shop and rock at Trailer Space. There are 4 arcade games at the back of the record store that are all 25CENTS each/per game. Dude… you can’t be that! Arcade games include 2 player game Area 51ANDNBA Hangtime! Dang. I was set for the evening with my beer and a few quarters! Usually there are local bands that play here beginning at 7pm and will go until well after 10pm. Plenty of room for you to rock out or drone out and it’s BYOB. There is ususally a crowd around the corner end of the check out counter getting down on some tasty beverages and shots any time of the night. Cheap, cheap prices on all sorts of vinyl including vintage finds and a nice and cool vinyl rack of Metal and Punk music. New vinyl LPs usually start around $ 13 and range up to $ 25 at the most. Be sure to take a look at the bins underneath the waist high bins for cheaper finds. Don’t be afraid to get down and dirty to find the or a vinyl you want to add to your collection. After drinking so many beers and spending a whole whopping $ 2 on arcade games, I had to go to the restroom. So many old & vintage local posters to help you pass the time as you are in there that I had to bust out my phone to picture some for future #latergrams.

Though a great record store, had a terrible encounter with a «gentlemen» behind the corner last night, after a show in the store. He apparently got offended when I tried to connect with him culturally. A culture which I was raised in but apparently not authorized to participate in, being it’s not in my direct lineage, as expressed by him. He is apparently the representative of Mexican culture, though very gentrified in himself. A man should never disrespect a woman is such a way, if hoping to continue to be addressed as man. His attack was so visceral and unnecessary, it left me dumbfounded and without words. I tried to explain my intent to join in and not to offend. This cause him to up his level of cruelty. Because I have aged and no longer seek out altercations, I was able to finally interject an apology to any disrespect he felt. Which he shook on and then proceeded to sexually harass me as I exited the store. What matter of man is this, this is my first run in with such a man in Austin, Texas. I pray he has no children, especially hope no girls. A father of a female would never act in such a way to a woman. I was completely disappointed by his childish discourse, also felt the comfort of his surrounding companions added to his misogynistic behavior. I hope for others’ sake, I was just an isolated situation and maybe my presence had some sort of unique effect on his chemistry. No customer should suffer such a display in any establishment. It was a very sad end to an great night.

This is a really awesome space! Nice record selection and in-store shows with BYOB. It’s pretty small so it has a good atmosphere. I can’t wait to go to more shows here. Oh there’s no bathroom inside which I guess might be a drawback but there’s a porto-j outside so it’s not really a problem. And as a bonus there’s pizza right next door!

I love this place. They have an excellent record selection for a modestly sized store(especially if you like punk rock, but most other genres are well represented, as well). The place also carries magazines/zines and used dvd’s. Everything is very reasonably priced. By far my favorite thing about the place, though, is the constant stream of free in store shows, often 3 a week. The bands are great and are usually name bands in the local/national club scene. The shows generally start around 7pm which is great for those of us who can’t conveniently stay out until 2am watching shows every night. The layout is good for shows, and you can see well from anywhere even when the room is full. The parking lot offers great spill over space for people who’d like to stand outside, and of course, East Side Pies(the best pizza place in Austin!) is right next door serving pizza by the slice.

RECORD store(no cd’s) with a popular pizza place(East Side Pies) next door. The walls are just caked with posters to ‘wish I was there’ shows, from all over Austin. The place hosts free shows and they’ve got some cool records. Worth checking out! The neighborhood is a little questionable, but if its daylight or you’re driving there, it should be no issue.

Great small independent record store on Austin’s Eastside. Solid selection of country, jazz, indie and punk records at reasonable prices. Great place to find local gems. I found a sealed copy of the Furry Things LP and a Sixteen Deluxe 7″ that I was missing. As any legitimate record store should, they host local and touring bands for regular in-stores, but at Trailer Space you might get lucky and find Tom cooking up some BBQ in the parking lot.

Pretty cool record shop. I went for a SXSW show and it was exactly what I would expect. A little shop with music blasting the door off. Everyone was hanging around the parking lot, drinking beer from home. I would like to hit Trailer Space up on a non-sxsw weekend to get a real feel for it.

My favorite record store in Austin! Good selection of used vinyl without being overwhelming, decent prices, and a super laid back and welcoming vibe. They are really friendly, and always very excited about the live shows they host. Oh… and they now take cards. But use cash anyway. It’s more punk rock.

What’s better than seeing Sabrina and the rest of her bandmates of A Giant Dog play at Trailer Space? For starters, it was a no-cover show, and there was an ice chest full of Lonestars AND they had pizzas delivered gratis. Awesome live music, good sound, and cool staff. Oh yeah, almost forgot to say they had the arcade game 1945(or was it 1941) plus a few other ones there.

In all honesty I didn’t get to look around much because I was there for an in-store show. But the atmosphere, organization of the store and the staff were really awesome. They get bonus points for the BBQ stand outside and they are next door to an awesome pizza place. Good prices and from what I remember, they had an assortment of vinyl and turntable accessories. Edit: This is a go to record store in Austin. I will bump this to a five star as soon as they get more newer releases on the shelves.

A band I know played here, and walking in the staff reminded me of a tiny, tiny Empire Records or something. Everyone was very cool, though, and knew what they were doing. Set-up went down easy, a few people showed up, and the sound and acoustics were pretty good considering it’s a store, not a venue really. I can’t really vouch for it as a record store, but I did appreciate the little tower of zines in the middle of the aisle. During shows, it’s BYOB and no one even cared that we did most of our drinking in the parking lot.
