As a female, especially one with ongoing unresolved issues, it’s not really fun to visit the Urologists in general, but if you do go, at least in Austin, it’s tough to find one with a well-run office or one with a less than militaristic/male-oriented approach. My experience at this practice downtown with Dr. Kocurek was okay, it was my first visit, but I can’t take medications, and his only recommendation was a pill. So no solution — of course until I visited the Chinese physicians at AOMA and began taking herbs, that resolved the symptoms. Second visit today to the Lakeway offices as a follow-up(trying to get a referral for diagnostic services — MRI or ultrasound only), is a different adventure. Not a simple wait — am waiting now 30 minutes with front office staff that seems to be unhappy, unwilling, and unprepared for this century(slow speech, cranky attitude, and slow to understand). Still makes me wonder why offices don’t utilize electronic records — it seems the entire staff here is taking in paperwork and contacting other offices for more. The front office here is happy to keep passing us new paperwork??? So if you go, prepare for a long wait(but really just don’t go — I wouldn’t recommend these services at all), and hope that whatever recommendation you get — it’s for diagnostics across the street at the hospital that is well-run, friendly and efficient. Still not sure if I’ll ever get seen here… just so exhausted with waiting that I am writing this review. Does it matter how good the medicine is if you wait outside this long with a front office that is clearly not meant to be working in a modern medical office? Ugh!!!
