Volt has been very choppy in regards to work for many years. The last assignment I had was over a year ago and then the pay and length were poor (5 days). I have seen this aspect of theirs in other states as well, no return calls, you can go for years without anything, others have mentioned this to me too. Weird how they can pay their rent and staff salary?.
Only contacts from them are if they are working with a client like Invenio Solutions, which is lousy to their people, high turn over rate and is a sweat shop call center. Essentially Volt rarely has jobs and then deals with «corpses in the business world» who are totally desperate.

Third party «screeners”/staffing entities like VOLT need to know how hurtful they are when they find out a potential candidate is unemployed. They Just assume the candidate is criminal and kick them to the curb. For FOUR YEARS I have been enduring this garbage. I am well educated, highly skilled, have great experience, and I AM A GREAT PERSON WITH NO — I REPEAT NO — CRIMINAL HISTORY. For a few years I chose to leave employment to care for special needs boys, an 80+ yr old mother with dementia, and to support my husband’s military career while he was gone for 8 years. He is now 90% disabled. Lets see THEM do that while they are employed. NO, lets see them endure dour years of job hunting Shame on them.

This has by far been the most unprofessional temp agency I have ever worked for in my whole 40yrs of my life. Now I can see exactly why the have 1 star for credibility. It is absolutely ridiculous to call for over a MONTH and not even get 1 return call after you have made them money been on assignments and haven’t had 1 complaint I really really hate to see how they treat a human being that has not made them money or did keep a credible reputation with them without a doubt! Do NOT be fooled by the look of their offices to compair with their loyalty because you will be VERY VERY DISAPPOINTED AND MISLED. They don’t return your personal belongings and most definitely will lie and say they have other assignments but never hear back from them!!! The only thing that they are SUPER GOOD ABOUT IS PASSING THE BUCK AND POINTING FINGERS. .They definitely sucssed in that area by bounds and hoops. Don’t want to take responsibility then treat you like trash and will not give you the Branch manager name or number which is Chistie 512−592−3325 you will need it most definitely. Sarah has got to be the WORST temp specialist around these parts! It takes a whole lot for me to get to this level of writing reviews trust me! Don’t say you were Not WARNED! !! Who tells a client «well I don’t know what to tell you «after you have been calling for weeks straight! Or I don’t see that many missed calls from you. are you serious right now??? Wow… now on to contacting the BBB! I’m done play games with irresponsible people here! I will be heard one way or the other! I’m a Realtor and can not understand how a business can be so condensending and flat out unprofessional. I wish it was a –10 stars because that would be too generous. Read your customers reviews Volt, it might just save your declining business! !

The last time I was hired through Volt was in September 2008. It was for a call center support position with Apple. Of course, they couldn’t say that’s who their client was — it was just too obvious. Nobody else in NW Austin would be needing people for iPhone support…
The «computer» test they did was a total joke. I shiver to think of all the people that would have been qualified but were rejected because they couldn’t figure out that the error message the one question referred to was because there was a floppy disk in the drive (the horrors of DOS and early Windows).
Of course, people still using those systems wouldn’t have been able to use an iPhone with their computers.
Not a single question about Macs, either. Really? The client they are recruiting for is Apple, and yet they don’t verify that applicants have Mac skills? In fact, many of the people in my training class didn’t make it onto the floor because they had no clue how to use a Mac. A waste of Apple’s time, the employee’s times, and a drag on those of us who were very familiar with Mac OS X and wanted the job.
Cut to December 2008. I’d been working with Volt @ Apple. In early December our team started something different — because we had the best numbers of all the iPhone centers, we were helping Apple try something new. We listened to calls at other call centers, then provided written and video response to the employee and their managers. Our guidance helped to boost the customer satisfaction levels at those other sites.
Well, my metrics weren’t great going into it. Since anything other than Completely Satisfied was counted as a zero, and I only had four customer surveys when I started the remote listening, my supervisor from Volt was on my case for not getting my index up. I repeatedly told her what we were doing, and that meant we were not taking calls ourselves. And thusly, there was nothing I could do to improve that number until after the holiday season was over.
No avail. She wouldn’t listen. So, I was let go.
I love Apple, Inc and their products. I’ve been using them since mid-​1987. But I will never accept a job offer from Volt again.

I’ve heard about people having horrific experiences at Volt, but I guess I’m just an exception. I had my resume forwarded there, was contact a day later by Kim (she is wonderful!), and a week later got confirmation of a job. Not only was Kim positive and nice, she kept in contact with me via email. My interview there went great, and I am interviewing today again with the company I am trying to work for! It was a great experience for me.

Terrible experience, do not waste your time applying with these jokers. After I spent an hour doing their aptitude tests (and scoring in the high 90 percent range on every single one) I was made to wait over 2 weeks. Repeated calls, emails, and faxes to my individual contact within Volt went unretruned. After 3 weeks of NO contact I finally heard back from my contact, he had an interview for me, hooray! I get to the job site and find out the position I was to interview for was already filled, but there is a lower paying position open. They pulled a «bait and switch» on me after making me wait weeks for any kind of reply.

I concur what Chris said. I had the same experience with Renee who never returned my calls after I turned down her position working for Apple as a CSR.

I have no clue as to why this place was rated one of the «Top 100 Companies» by Fortune Magazine. Maybe it’s a great place to work??? But it’s certainly not a reliable resource to find work.
I was contacted by Volt (Renee) who found my resume online and couldn’t wait to tell me of an opportunity that would be a «perfect fit». I show up, we review my resume (10 yrs experience including 5 yrs of working with Fortune 100 companies) as she is enthralled with my background and tells me how «Volt is different from other job placement agencies, we don’t just find any job for anyone, we want to make sure you’re a good fit based on your experience — –the right job!».
Then comes her pitch — — «I have the perfect position for you! It’s Computer Customer Support (kinda), and within 3 months you’ll have an opportunity to apply for internal positions within the company (maybe).» Oh — but there’s a catch — — it’s overnights, a 1 year contract, and if you opt out you have to give us 90 days notice.
WTF?
How and why do you think someone w/​a consulting background would be perfect for an overnight position for a 1 year contract that pays only a portion of what I used to make? I guess that’s why you call it a sales pitch.
No biggie — I told her overnights were a no-​go, so she said she would forward my resume to her co-​worker who handles salaried positions and will get back to me — so keep in contact. The next day I found a Volt job posting on
that posted those same computer positions for DAYTIME so I forwarded the listing to Renee to inquire about them. No response.
I send 3 more emails asking about my resume, the salaried positions, and the Careerbuilder listings — — and my efforts yield the same result: NO RESPONSE. Isn’t it ironic that it’s their job to find you a job, and yet they’re not open and upfront about the job, you get a sales pitch, they don’t respond to emails, and they don’t look to place you based on your background or experience?
I would go elsewhere if you’re looking for an employment agency, because Volt just doesn’t make the cut.

Typical of employment agencies, they are on the companies’ side and not the employees.
