WALGREEN’S is a worthless pharmacy — run as fast as you can to anywhere but here. My dentist assistant was dialing the phone to leave my prescription at Walgreens whilst I was walking out of the office. When I arrived two hours later at Walgreen’s, they had no record. I called my dentist, and she sat on hold for 30 minutes waiting for the pharmacy to pick up, as I waited, more people they were unable to assist were stacking up, calls going unanswered, until I thought this is madness. She was still«holding» for the pharmacy, when I told her to hang up and find another pharmacy, ANYWHERE but Walgreens. We decided on the People’s Pharmacy, clear across town, but well worth the drive for not having to deal with the Walgreen’s sh*t show. 20 minutes later, I arrived home, my phone rang, it’s a recorded message from Walgreens Pharmacy, my prescription was ready. You can’t make this sh*t up, this is how incept Walgreens Pharmacy is, not just me. Not one person was able to walk away with a prescription the entire time I sat there. Five minutes later a real live person from People’s Pharmacy called, and let me know my prescription had been received and would be ready shortly. WOW, what a concept, having a real life person call, instead of a recorded message trying to sell me a toxic flu shot. Three grown men were running the Walgreens pharmacy, one was eating, which I found very unprofessional as he’s dealing with medication, the other two reminded me of Eunuch’s in a cat house. Not able to get much done.

One star for a chain pharmacy that doesn’t open until 8AM on a weekday.

This Walgreens has a Chase ATM so, I often stop in here when I am at work! The location makes it somewhat sketchy because their is a huge bus stop in the parking lot! It’s customary to be asked for money, cigarettes ect. while entering or exiting this store. I stopped in here for some WD40 for a squeeky door at work that was going to drive me over the edge. Their shelves are always pretty bare with carts full of merchandise sitting in the aisles just waiting to be shelved but, no workers in sight. I finally found someone who said they had some but, it was in the back and wouldn’t be stocked until the afternoon. This is pretty common place at this location as, I have had this happen to me before with other items! This is one of those places you just take your chances!

This is probably the most sparsely stocked Walgreens that I have ever entered. The thing is, its the closest one to where I live. I’ll be here again.

Usually I wouldn’t give enough of a hoot to care about writing a review of a Walgreens or CVS, but this one is on one of my regular routes home from a night of drinking on the East Side, and I’ve stopped here on a handful of occasions to get water or snacks or toiletries before I make the trek towards my home east of Austin. You can definitely tell this is on the East Side — small, dark, cramped, almost claustrophobic. Typical Walgreens layout, only compacted. This has more of a convenience store than Walgreens feel to it. Smaller selections, not a huge variety of products. Not bad, not good, just meh. Also, one of the things I look for in my Walgreens is the possibility for a pit stop. Other Walgreens have nice, spacious bathrooms. After a night out at the bars, a nice spacious bathroom is a necessity before I leave Austin city limits. For the life of me, I can’t figure where or even if this Walgreens has a bathroom. Do I need a password? Do I need a secret handshake? I’m buying stuff, I’m NOT just coming in here to use the bathroom(okay, sometimes I am and my purchases are just a cover), but it seems they don’t want you in here long enough to take care of business. Again, location makes me think this is why they don’t want people lingering long. Maybe I need to lower my expectations. Then again, maybe that’s what THEY want. But I HAVE been to quality Walgreens and CVS stores in and around Austin, and this one is just a «meh» in my book. Perhaps in large part due to its missing/invisible rest rooms. But if all you want are snacks, drinks, condoms, and antacids, this is the place to go!

I work next door to this Walgreens, so it’s basically my only means of escape. I can take a break and go here, so I ask my co-workers if they need anything. Sometimes, I check out with a very strange assortment of items: hostess cupcakes, birthday cards for girlfriends, vienna sausage, nail polish remover. Really surprisingly, they have cute gift wrap /gift bags here, frequently in a package deal for $ 1. You’d think it’d be lame grandma-looking giftbags with hazy pink roses, but no. Cute stuff. Strange. Their chip selection is kind of lacking. The employees are pretty nice. There are usually panhandlers outside.
