The pharmacist(Kristi) just helped me save hundreds of dollars by spending at least 15 minutes on the phone with me figuring out my insurance. Best service I’ve ever gotten from a pharmacist!

This Walgreens had a pretty good selection of products. It took a while to get a second cashier to the front to speed up the check out process. The parking lot was very crowded and hard to exit. This location has a Red Box which is very conveniently located.

Called to find out why the prescription that was called in four days ago wasn’t ready yet. Impossible to get ahold of the pharmacy. I finally checked the automation to see if it was ready. Apparently it’s out of stock and they’re working on it. Why wasn’t I notified sooner so I could have gone somewhere else? I had to find out on my own without someone giving me the courtesy of letting me know that they’re out of my birth control and now I’ve missed days. Thanks Walgreens!

At the Corner of Bogus and Bull*#$%(not Happy and Healthy) should be their tag line. Been a customer for years, on their rewards program, but really noticed a decline in service and staff coherence in the last few years. Today was the last straw when I bought in previously brought medication and then purchased a new med so I should have gotten home with 3 meds in the bag. After stopping at one stop, with car locked, then home, I get home and there is one med in the bag so the checker did not put everything in. Called and after being on hold for over 10 mins and hung up on once, and the store manager(all of whom appear to still be in adolescence) says to drive down and he’ll replace the meds. Great — as it should be. I drive all the way down there and now the story changes to he won’t give meds as he thinks they were put in the bag(they were not — we searched the car(the only place they could be) thoroughly. I ask to see any video tape of the transaction and he says I have to file a police report(manager dude — people have jobs and better things to do than play your obstacle course games). I leave $ 35 poorer, having been ripped off for 2 meds and vowing never to return to any of their stores. I have now transferred all my RX business and won’t buy OTC or other goods at any WalGreens anywhere — they have completing lost all my business over $ 35. Brilliant strategy. I was tired of their slow service and never having what I need anyway so it was a final excuse to move everything. Glad to be out of there and warn others that you will not be dealt with fairly nor will you encounter experienced, service oriented staff, thus the overall low reviews of this location.

The pharmacy here is terrible. They are generally rude and slow to fill prescriptions. My last prescription here was not filled in time for my surgery … I had to scramble to get it filled(it was not anything exotic). People’s pharmacy to the rescue. People’s had the medicine in stock and managed to get it to me in time for my procedure. I’ll never be back to this place.

Service is hit or miss sometimes. Usually pretty good, Sometimes bad. They always seem to be understaffed, especially after about 4pm. They need to hire more people. I know that pharmacy is bringing in some serious bank!

Usually has good service. Like any Walgreens, it tends to run on the pricey side, unless they’re running a special. The pharmacy is slow, though. The clientele tends to run an interesting gamut between the Geriatric American community and smart-aleck looking pseudo-preppy kids. This population mixture creates for a demonic parking lot. But for candy, drinks, and drugstore items, it’s an A-OK alternative.

I recently had a very good experience at the pharmacy at this Walgreen’s location. I’ll first preface that the four stars is because they do not offer a «drive thru pharmacy», but other than that I had a great experience. First of all, I accidentally filled my prescription at a different location, however the pharmacy tech immediately told me she could refill my prescription in about 10 minutes. About 5 minutes later, they called me back to the pharmacy counter and she had filled my prescription and we were good to go. Typically when I run into problems at the pharmacy, they tell me I have to come back in 30 – 60 minutes, so I’m so glad they were able to help me in such a quick amount of time!

Worst pharmacy in Austin. Not even exaggerating. I’ve been called 3 times now by an automated service telling me that my prescription is ready. But, every time I go to pick it up, it’s not ready! What is wrong with these people?! The 3rd time was today, and no one seem to give a shit, except for Barton, he’s the man. I waited 45 minutes for them to refill a prescription that was suppose to be ready. They said it had to do with my insurance, but why they didn’t sort that out before they called me, is mind boggling. The asian lady and the african american lady in their little white coats, apparently have no idea what they are doing, nor could they care less. Barton on the other hand really hussels and truly is sympathetic about the fact that you have been wasting your day away at Walgreens. I will be getting my prescription filled somewhere else now.

This is probably the worst Walgreens location I’ve ever been to, in terms of employees, ease of use, and customer service. I guess it could be worse, it could be in a high-crime area. Although, the Walgreens at 183 and Duval always had cop cars in the parking lot and crackheads outside the front door, and it was the best Walgreens ever… The guys running the pharmacy here are completely inept at any form of customer service or even running a pharmacy properly. I’ve gone up to the counter after hearing my name called on the overhead that my Rx was ready, and still had to wait an additional 15 minutes before someone would see me at the counter! I’ve never, ever gotten in and out of this Walgreens in less than 20 minutes. Not even for a call-ahead Rx pick up. Every employee here acts like I am ruining their day when I smile and say hello. Except the lady at the cosmetics counter, she is lovely and always friendly. But everyone else! I hate that this is my «neighborhood» Walgreens now. Their hours suck(what pharmacy closes at 8pm in this day and age?!), their employees suck, the parking situation sucks, it goes on and on.

My go to place for many useful and useless things. Cosmetics are always on sale. Several weeks ago, I found mascara for $ 2.79. It’s not my usual department store brand but I can’t tell much difference. Today, after lurking on the Unilocal dry skin thread, I found the JASON Vitamin E crème at 20% off.(Thank you Edith P.) There are two aisles devoted to birthday cards and many of the musical variety. I am a devoted greeting card fan thanks to Hallmark’s brainwashing. Walgreen’s has a nice kitchen and bath aisle that I peruse at times. Recently, I located the new model non-slip silicone grip Ove Glove! Woooo! After Christmas, I find funny stuffed singing oddities for my family’s annual White Elephant party. The $ 3.00 polar bear singing White Christmas in a Dean Martin voice has been my favorite. Right outside, is a Red Box with $ 1.00 movies. So easy to swing by during off hours for a late night new release.(Sorry, no porn.) The employees are always helpful and pleasant. One check out guy is a little odd. He is completely over-the-top friendly but do not try to friend him back. You will get an icy stare. He can only friend you. You can’t friend him. What the what?

Walgreens at Mesa and Spicewood springs is the american drug store of Norman Rockwell paintings, where everytbody knows my name and shopping habits, and a bargain is never far. When I worked aroudn hte corner from here I would get $ 3 deerfield farms frozen pizzas and microwave them back at the office for a ridiculously cheap nutritious meal. Other times it was the bargains on pints of blue bell or candy bars. One time i got this motion powered flashlight for less than $ 10. In order to keep it lit you had the shake it in a vaguley masterbutory manner, which was kind of cool. Now a days I go there for the photo finishing, which has only gotten better, less expensive and faster in the intervening years. I always get a smile from the nice folks at the counter, and we all share our stories. Oh yeah, they have good prices on smokes.

This Walgreens freaks me the hell out. It’s exactly opposite of the one I used to go to all the time on Justin and Lamar. Instead of the drink coolers being to the left, they’re to the right. Instead of Topo Chico mineral water, they have Perrier. Instead of all the employees looking homicidal, they look downright peppy. That’s about all that I saw because I only went to the drink cooler and check out. But that was enough to weird me out on this Walgreens. I like weird though. 4 stars! –1 star for Walgreens being open 365 days a year. That’s just mean. At least give your employees Thanksgiving or New Years Eve or something. Close damnit!
