My two daughters ages barely 5 and 6.5 years old took two«blitz» weeks of lessons at Waterloo this summer. That is four lessons per week in each session. They also offer once per week classes for the summer. My daughters progressed a lot this summer, and it may have just clicked for them this time, but I did like the classes at Waterloo. There are a lot of lessons going on in the pool at one time, with small groups in each lane of the pool. I was concerned that this would be distracting for the kids, but they did not even seem to notice the other groups and all stayed very focused. For me it was a benefit to have multiple classes going on at once, since my daughters were at different levels. The instructors are very attuned to watching each swimmer’s skills, and they move up to different classes when ready. Both of my girls moved up a level for the second week, which was nice so that they weren’t wasting time at a level they had mastered. There was capacity in the up level classes, which was very helpful. Each group has up to four kids with one instructor, although most times my kids’ classes had 2 – 3 kids. This is a well run and efficient operation, yet it remains very personal. My daughters really liked all of the instructors. Next year they are building a new facility near Lakeline mall.

After trying several swim schools with various issues at each one, we tried Waterloo this summer. We are thrilled. They are very well organized and the instruction is amazing. In two weeks of blitz classes there, I see vast improvement in all three of my kids’ swimming skills. They have all really progressed. We couldn’t be happier!
