Great late night place to grab Ramen. In fact, I think it’s the only place downtown you can find that stuff? If you ask, they’ll make it with the vegetarian broth(not beef broth like they usually do) so us vegetarians or non-mammal eaters can have it :)

I decided to try their pork belly buns tonight while walking around downtown. Sweet bun, well seasoned pork. 2 of them for $ 4… score! Definitely one of the better late night trailer options I’ve had. I’m looking forward to going back and trying more of the menu. Also, I wanted to point out that the guy who was running it worked VERY clean. I get icked out with cross-contamination between food, money, and surfaces… He was very careful to keep the food clean and the other things separated. I respect that. It also makes me willing to come back.

My encounter Saturday night, playscript format, please imagine my faces of distress: (Setup: Jessica has already ordered two things off the menu, hungry, she waits on the curb for her food to arrive. Minutes pass. They feel like hours. Finally, she goes to the window to inquire what the hold up is.) Jessica: Excuse me, is my food coming? It’s been a while. Whazabi: Your name? Jessica: Jessica. Whazabi: You already got your food. Jessica: No, no I didn’t. Whazabi: I gave it to that guy(points to a random guy in a blue shirt) Jessica: Does that guy look like a «Jessica» to you? Whazabi: Uh… no… but he came up and sometimes girls are with their boyfriends and… Jessica: So you gave MY food to a random person? Whazbi: I will remake it!(Runs away) (Jessica finally gets her food, the beef in the steamed bun is AMAZING, but the other dish was disgusting. Will have to try Whazabi again. And keep an eye out for a guy with a blue shirt…)

I’ve been to this food trailer many times and have always been satisfied with the food and service. I really liked the pork buns and chicken rice bowl. The food is pretty fresh and prices are better than most other places. I would definitely go here more often if I was living within walking or biking distance.

One night while I was walking to my car with a friend after leaving a bar I came across Whazabi. I was kind of buzz, but I remember their pork chop buns were the bomb. I think I ate like 4 of them myself. Hehe So I was like if they are this good with a buzz what do they taste like when you are sober. So I came back a week or 2 later sober and yes just like before they were pretty awesome. Everyone at the trailer is pretty nice and friendly. I been to a lot of food trailers and this has got to be one of the top 5 food trailers I have been too.

Ok, granted it was midnight, cold and rainy but I still think it was better than 3 stars… maybe not quite 4. I got the chicken dumplings(aka potstickers) and pork buns. YUMMMM and spent $ 10 for potstickers and 4 pork buns. No, I didn’t eat them all myself but I could have.

Out on a Wednesday night, no Chilantro or Kebabilicious or any of the more known trailers, we decided to try something. Just a snack. I had the beef taco with Whazabi sauce and the special of the night, pork belly with steamed bun. The taco wasn’t bad. The meat was seasoned well and was nice and tender. The whazabi sauce, in my opinion, was not that great. I think it was too much wasabi without much to back it up. It wasn’t bad but I felt it could have been improved. The pork belly steam bun, and once again my opinion, was very traditional. If you’re Vietnamese and have ever ate thit kho, this is exactly what the pork belly was. It’s a traditional food you can find in any vietnamese home and is very good but since I’ve had it many times over, it doesn’t stand out in my mind. I love thit kho and will always fall back on it but I wasn’t impressed. The prices were good and the service wasn’t bad either. I’d try more food there again if I was out on a Wednesday night.
