This is the best bakery in Austin Texas. I lived in Seattle for ten years, and know a good, fresh pastry(especially chocolate croissant) is just hard to find here in Austin. I stumbled onto Word of Mouth and think I found my source. Their croissants are great. Their empanadas are delightful(especially beef picadillo– one of those plus a salad make a great light lunch). I’ve had their muffins, lemon poppyseed bread(large slices!), various cookies(chocolate chip/sea salt was great!) and cupcakes and have been very happy with all. The staff is friendly and it’s a quick in and out if you are on the go. They have four little tables in the shop where you could eat a lunch. They serve a menu of salad/sandwich options for lunch, also good and tasty. I’ve had their drip coffee and it was hot and fresh. My only suggestion for improvement is that they open at 6:45 so I can get to work by 7!

So I am really torn on this place… Their pastries look AMAZING and the staff seems lovely and it looks like a true local business which I love. My only reason for being torn is how can a local bakery have bad lattes? I had a very boring flavorless almond milk latte from here yesterday that was a real bummer. The homemade mozzarella on the other hand was very nice and everything else I saw looked delicious. I will absolutely come back but not for a coffee.

Well, hello there! I’ve been looking for a place like you for a long time. You see, there are 2 things I love very much in this world: pastries and sandwiches. You have both in spades. Your spinach empanada was the perfect blend of spinach, cheese and pastry. Your rosemary and lavender chicken sandwich was heavenly: moist chicken, spicy argula, sweet tomatoes. Your prices are fair and your service is fast. I could go on, and, I probably will. I’ve never had Word of Mouth Catering, but I’m hoping you, sweet Bakery, will cater my life. Muah!
