What a goofy place, the wine is bad, the owners grew up under a sign that says, one-way, and they try to pawn it off as good for you. Tannic in the wine, really?

I wrote a short, single e-mail asking about how they made their wine. I got a several long-winded, offensive psychobabble e-mails back from the owner that were outright offensive. I’m actually quite scared now and can only imagine how bad Marcie’s visit was based on the post was below. He then told me the winery was closed. I am clearly one of the«obnoxious» people Bill & Karen were spared from sitting next to. I wasn’t aware businesses were still allowed to «preen» their customer base. Very scary.

It takes a lot to offend an entire room of people and the joint owner of Farinacci Winery managed to do that within the first five minutes of our arrival. A man with«a 10-mile ego and a confidence even higher» should know better. I will spare you the details of his 20-minute rant that he managed to get in before we ran for the hills, but the topics covered genocide, politics, The Bible, and(my personal favorite) how all five of the un-married women in our group are worthless without men. What a relaxing wine tasting discussion, no? While the general consensus was that the winery’s ice wine was worth purchasing, the business(sales? marketing? promoting the need for mental institutions?) practices of the owner ensured that we would not purchase more than the $ 0.50 sample. No other wine even came close to consideration. The tasting room is, for the most part, entirely empty. There is one 10-person bar that you can stand at and taste, purchase their wines. Beyond that, few wine memorabilia and nick-knacks line the walls of the single-room building. For the record, all of the customers that were dealing with the wife and co-owner seemed like they were enjoying their stay. She genuinely seemed pleasant. Avoid the husband. Unless, of course, you want to have that Saturday afternoon discussion about putting«those unwanted children in genocide camps so they don’t procreate and harm society even more.» In that case, rock on. Just far, far away from me, please.
