Great for kids but since I didn’t bring any… you see pretty much the same variety of fish and a lot of sea kelp… don’t waste your hard earned money on feeding the fish unless again you brought kids… Cuz before the sub leaves they torpedo feed the fish which brings them up close and personal… really not worth the ticket price to get in unless you bring along kids… did I get my point across…:)

My boyfriend and I bought tickets for the undersea tour the day we were to fly back via helicopter to Long Beach. We had 45 min before the tour was to start so we decided to go down a block to Jack’s for breakfast. When we paid the bill the waiter had misplaced our credit card and the entire staff helped tore the place apart in order to find it– we were not going to leave without it… It was found and we headed back to the pier only to see that the boat was just leaving the dock.$#%@! We tried to get our refund and explained that we did not have enough time to take the next tour since we were flying back in less than an hour — they have a ‘no refund no exchange’ policy. Kathy did not care. She sat on her stool and told us the tickets were good for a year. We asked if they would pay our travel expenses to come back to the island in order for us to use our tickets — she was not amused. The bottom line is this lady had no problem keeping our money. Kathy was very unpleasant. Awful. This company is in it for themselves and not fair to their customers. Truly disgusting.

So we decided to take at least one tour while here on the island and swung by the Info and reservations booth for Discovery Tours… the dude was very kind, helpful and even apologetic for a short wait we had. The wife and I decided on the Undersea Tour and we were able to buy tickets for the next boat out… no need for prior reservations! And we got a deal where we were both only charged the children’s price($ 28.25 each) as opposed to normal adult price($ 37.75) Baby rides for free! cha-ching! More bacon and beer money for me! We get our handy colorful fish finder guides(which my daughter most happily ripped to shreds throughout the tour) and souvenir buttons… neat. We hop aboard and are led down below to the cabin which is about 5 ft underwater and get some good seats for the«adventure» … plenty of great big windows for your viewing pleasure. The tour lasts roughly 45 minutes, and you get to observe a variety of different marine inhabitants pretty up close and personal. My daughter is only 1yr old but she REALLY got a kick out of it… screaming happily and pointing everywhere so I totally got my money’s worth there. Personally… if it were just me… I’d rather not shell out $ 30 to see fish… but to each his own! Bottom line… good family tour and GREAT for kids! The highlight of the trip for me was our tour guide, really sweet kid… looked like he was fresh outta high school and I SWEAR that he was making stuff up about the marine life as he went along… like to keep himself entertained… or maybe he really didn’t have a clue… I thought it was hilarious.
