Delicious meal. Fresh and homemade. Good portions. Service was great. One of the best(if not the) best Italian on 7 mile island.

Went with a group of 4 and no one really enjoyed there dinner! I ordered chicken piccate and it had no flavor at all plus had to pay extra for pasta! It came with nothing, same thing with my husbands meal, he had chicken Marsala and same thing! My girlfriend had pasta with meats sauce and said it tasted like sloppy joe! The only thing that was good was the antipasto salad! Highly over priced! I do not recommend :-((

Fuze was definitely the restaurant of the summer for my family. When I first went in mid-July I ordered the Veal a la Fuze since I heard many wonderful things about this dish. I was definitely not disappointed. The plate has three veal medallions covered in crab meat with two scallops and two shrimp. Check out the picture I posted for a better idea. The Veal a la Fuze was so good that I had to order it the two other times I went to the restaurant this summer. I also sampled some of my mom’s Veal & Eggplant dish and that too did not disappoint . For appetizers, the meatball dish is great. It’s one big meatball, covered in tomato sauce, basil, and a spoonful of ricotta. Very awesome. Also recommended is the Arancini w/Tomato & Fresh Mozzarella. It’s a breaded fried ball of rice and two come to an order. Basically, you aren’t going to go wrong here really, but every time I go I just can’t help getting that Veal a la Fuze dish. It is BYOB and reservations are recommended, especially on weekends.

Loved my first experience there. Relaxing and romantic atmosphere and the food was delicious. We had fried calamari, veal milenease and the bolognese with homemade pasta and sausage. Loved every bite:) and if you have room for dessert try the tiramisu!

Sat outside here for the fourth and had a very nice meal. Got the pasta of the day fettuccini with carbonara and it was delicious. Apps and desert were also really good. I wrapped up my leftovers and our server dropped my plate :-(. They insisted on cooking another full entrée to replace my leftovers. I typically wouldn’t let someone do that but it was so good I didn’t argue. Now we have fettuccini for days bro.

Seriously, who stops seating at 8:30PM??? There is plenty of competition around. Do you seriously want to turn customers away at 8:45!!! You are not that good! Good luck with that!

We ate there last night and it was awesome. Every member of the staff was friendly, attentive, and helpful. We were given a table outside in the corner. Our waiter was very knowledgeable and friendly. One of the nicest staffs I’ve had help me in a while. They first start you out with bread, olive oil & herbs, and roasted garlic. The bread was soft, the olive oil was very very tasty and a nice dark color, and the garlic was roasted to a caramel color. Yummy. We split the italian meatball and the provolone as apps. The meatball was pretty good. It was aged for 21 days so it was extremely soft. The provolone was a surprise. It was pan fried and awesome. It was accompanied by a long hot(yes) and a roasted pepper salad topped off with some beautiful anchovies. Yes anchovies. These were not the brown, wilted loaded with salt and oil kind but these actually looked like mini-sliced fish. If you ever wanted to try anchovies get this dish. Totally recommend the provolone app. I had Veal A La Fuze and it was delicious. The veal was soft and their sauce was yummy. I liked this dish a lot because it has a little bit of everything and it all works together. My friend had the fettuccine carbonara which she lived. It looked like a large portion; I don’t eat bacon so I didn’t try it. We split a tiramisu which was very flavorful and very fresh. I’d also recommend it. Our bill with tax was $ 111. I thought that was extremely reasonable for the food. It’s BYOB so that helps. I’m torn between giving it a 4 or a 5. I’d really like to give it a 4.5. I’d say it is the best high end italian restaurant in the area and recommend it. I saw some people with kids. I take my kids everywhere with me and they’d do fine here, BUT I wouldn’t recommend bringing them here. It’s definitely an adult atmosphere. If you are looking for a nice adult meal out, you can’t go wrong with Fuze Italian.

I tried again. I’m not sure why. This is my 3rd attempt. This time they stuffed 6 people on a 4 top, with half the restaurant empty. You would think when the manager can’t find room to place the appetizers on the table it would occur to him the table is too small for 6 people. The server looked like she wanted to be somewhere else. Never smiled. When our entrees took 45 minutes to come out, she never came back to say she was sorry, it will be right out, etc. she sprinted away from us. The quality of the food is ok, but at this price point, I expect better quality. It’s just meh. We couldn’t wait to leave. We won’t be back.

The Sunday Gravy is put of this world! It’s only available on Sunday(and it has nothing to do with gravy), but it is worth a Sunday trip. The Mac and Cheese with mushroom is also wonderful. It is all pricey and the seating is cramped. Nevertheless, a great restaurant.

The GM of the restaurant apparently read my posting and invited me back to have the antipasto appetizer on the house. I have not been back since I rent my home out during the summer, but I will likely be back again. As I had said before, the food was good, but there were a couple of things that bothered me. The GM doing a follow-up call is a class act… whether or not I take him up on it, its an appreciated gesture.

It is a fancy Italian restaurant, in an area where there are not many good Italian restaurants. Yes it is pricey, but definitely going to get a good experience from it. The manager was very nice and going around tables checking up on people– the servers should be more like that manager. I expected better service or more value. I have not been there since the summer– but I definitely want to go there again. The attire is respectable. Not too casual since customers are paying a lot of money; however, its during the summer at a beach location so its a more polo/golf shirts and khaki shorts.

Very solid Italian BYOB in Avalon. Their house sauce is very good. Meat-a-balls are very good. We tried a special salad they had using all local ingredients(NJ tomatoes, basil, etc) and LOVED it… eggplant parm also very good. I will go back again.

My husband and I have been to Fuze twice. Both times we enjoyed our meal very much. We sent my 23 year old son and his girlfriend to Fuze this week. They tried to order the veal a la Fuze which I had recommended. Anything a la fuze is very good. Instead the waitress talked them out of the a la fuze and suggested the special Veal Chop instead. She failed to mention that the special was 50.00. These were obviously young adults who are likely less able to afford an expensive dinner. The waitress was older and clearly knew what she was doing. The Veal Chop was mediocre and not nearly as good as the veal a la fuze. We had recommended this restaurant in the past but we will not recommend it again. We will choose to spend our money elsewhere.

Delicious! Katie was a very attentive waitress and explained everything to us. Rigatoni with vodka sauce was excellent. Will definitely return!

Best pasta I’ve had in Avalon so far. I went to Fuze with my family on Thursday of last week for my aunt’s birthday. The vibe of this place was pretty similar to the others, the service was pretty good, but the food… wow the food! We got seated around a big round table in the 2nd room. We started off with some bread, and salads, and then I requested Broccoli Rabe over fettucini which was the home made pasta of the day. It was delicious. Nothing fancy to look at, but man it was good. The one thing I have to say about this place is that the menu is complicated. It took about 5 solid minutes for our waitress to explain to us the way it worked. I can say with confidence that I wouldn’t have figured it out without her guidence. It doesn’t have to be so complicated though. All in all– the food is amazing, it’s a BYOB, I’m happy.

This review is based on takeout… But, expectations shouldn’t have to be lowered just because of that fact. However, Fuze messed up too many items in the takeout order to get more than 2 stars. I really have had better food and takeout accuracy. In fact, for these prices I’ve had much better. Fuze is expensive. We legitimately called to confirm the entrees weren’t family style sizes in case we were ordering too much because the prices were so high. No. They just overcharge and under serve. Turns out they under-satisfy as well at no extra charge. I’d probably steer clear of this place. But then again, I’ve concluded that the shore is littered with low quality, high cost food. It’s a foodie nightmare. Can’t be regulated because the second you say you’ve bad enough, there’s another mope behind you ready and willing to pay and ultimately perpetuate the cycle.

I was somewhat underwhelmed. The food was decent, however for a restaurant that specializes in family style I expected the tables to be bigger, especially because I went with a large party. Although it is a BYOB, no hard liquor is permitted(even though I don’t drink it members of my party would have liked a mixed drink), which I thought was foolish as many restaurants in Avalon do have a license that include this. Not saying I wouldn’t go back, I just found it overpriced for the experience.

Had dinner there last night and was pretty disappointed. We ordered the fried calamari and there was more banana peppers and fried lemons then actual calamari. The chicken Milanese was juts a piece of fried chicken with no flavoring with a side saled. The chicken parm was the same piece of chicken with sauce(not very good for an «Italian» restaurant) and a piece do cheese. The penne alla vodka was bland but the best item on the table. The house made sausage wasn’t very good either even though the fresh pasta was pretty decent. As a former owner of an Italian restaurant, I would not recommend this place to people, as a good Italian restaurant. It’s all about the homemade sauce and the chef really blew it. Great location and great service but that won’t help this place survive.

There are many scientific processes I don’t understand, and frankly I’m glad that we have really nerdy, geeky folks that can figure this stuff out. Take chemistry for example. Some combinations of elements are very useful, like H2O… hydrogen and oxygen creating water. Some are really bad, like O2RE… the two dark cookie Oreo elements combining with the single white cream element. The molecule O2RE is probably responsible for more trips to Weight Watchers and the cardiologist than any other known molecule in the universe. Some combinations of elements can do both great good and great harm. Take TMT3O… tomato sauce, and combine it with C4BR… crab, creating the molecule TCRB3T… tomato crab sauce. I understand that this molecule can do great mischief in the hands of the nefarious, so it doesn’t surprise me that Fuze, the delicious Italian style restaurant on 21st St. and Dune in Avalon, conceals the fact that it is really a top secret research lab developing and refining culinary molecules. What makes Fuze’s TCRB3T so dangerous is that they’ve weaponized it. Fresh, homemade fettuccine(FT2NI2U on the periodic table) make this very hazardous to control; in fact, a fork, spoon, and bib are required to properly handle this highly unstable molecule. The half-life of this is also very short; whatever is not consumed at dinner is gone by breakfast the next morning. So, while different research labs toil away on new ways to help, and harm, human beings, Fuze, with their comfortable and warm dining room and attentive wait staff(all really just to continue the guise) has created something that can do both. Used wisely, their creation can bring great euphoria. However, in excess, it is a lethal weapon to destroy diets and ruin waistlines.
