There isn’t a snowball’s chance in hell that I would recommend this business to anyone looking for extra storage space. I have come to find out that what they say can be trusted less than a politician’s campaign promises. Everything that they told me before I signed my lease turned out to be total bullshit. They say that they offer a «free» moving van to move you stuff into storage but then they charge you bogus maintenance fees after you use it. When I signed my lease I asked if the rate would be fixed or if it would change. Sabrina, the gal who runs the office, told me that my rate would not change but then they jacked my rent up 20% after the first month. I was also told that when I no longer needed my unit, I only had to give them a 15-day written nottice(by the 15th of the month for a end-of-month move out). Turns out this was bullshit too. Turns out the truth is that they require notice by the 15th of the month prior to moving out at the end of the following month. So they actually require a 45-day notice but the bastards don’t tell you that so they can screw you out of an extra month of rent. Aside from all the lies and bullshit that they feed you, the security of this place leaves a lot to be desired. When I moved in, I was assured that the security gate remains closed at all times and that only tenants have access to the premises. Not the case. The majority of the times I have come here, the gate was wide open. This included 10:30 on a Friday night and a Sunday afternoon, two days after the office closed. Evidently they leave the gates open most of the winter in case there’s snow and they need to plow. Instead of just giving the plow guy his own passcode to enter, they leave your belongings open to theft by anyone willing to brave the cold. Even when the gate is closed, the pathetic fences aren’t going to keep anyone out. The fence near the front, the area you see when you pull up to sign your lease looks like a decent fence that would deter thieves. Turns out this is just for show and only near the front. The side fences are only about 4 ½ feet tall and you can easily jump over them. And for those thieves that don’t want to jump, they could just push it over. The fence is only some metal posts and chicken wire. It’s laughable that they even bothered putting a fence like that up. The security cameras also leave something to be desired. They do have cameras around the property but they are not monitored and are only viewed if there is an issue. This would be fine but the office also told me that the DVR only holds footage for about 2 weeks. Better hope you notice you stuff missing within that two week window or their«outstanding» security system will have already deleted any information helping to convict a thief. I should have thought twice about renting here after noticing that most of their positive reviews on Google were written by the kid who manages their Kentucky Ave. facility(Jonathan Barnes) and the ones he didn’t write were written by the people who operate this location. What a joke. I thought it was shameful that they had to do this to attract customers but I gave them the benefit of the doubt and rented anyway. Bad idea. I would not recommend this business to anyone looking for extra rental space. You are better off paying $ 5 more per month to go with another company that may actually tell you the truth when they speak to you.
