Blanchard’s Tavern devotes a page on their web site to a claim of a ghost at the tavern, yet they won’t allow any paranormal groups to go in there and verify whether their claims about a haunting are truthful. Makes you wonder doesn’t it?

Step back in time at this 1780s tavern. Live entertainment every Saturday night from September through June. Doors open at 8pm & generally doors close at 11:30pm.
Singers perform traditional Irish & English folk songs.
Performers have included Janet Ashton, Lynn Feingold, reenactors Paul Revere & Rachael Revere, Larry Carlson, Ed Munafo, Sally McKnight & Jim Bucannan, Shawn Hickey, & Plymouth Plantation’s very own «For the Nonce».

A treat for history buffs, those who appreciate live tradtional music, and those looking for something different & new to do on a Saturday night. A bit of the colonial days without having to travel from the South Shore.
Right on Rt. 28 the tavern is easy to find & if the parking lot is full you can park across the street at the Church.

I am a history buff and loved that I found a place that where I could go back in time for a little while. I believe it is only open during the cold weather months. I love the weird drinks and menu items.
It is a weird night out as Mina said but I think Blanchard’s Tavern is a fun weird night out.

Why do I know about a Colonial Tavern in Avon, MA? Because my aunt sings Colonial songs in traditional Colonial costume. of course! «The tavern» is generally open from 8pm — 11:30pm on Saturday nights — but, not year round! An «interesting» place to come see or chill out with a drink or one of their funny menu/​appetizer/​dessert options. It’s not so much my thing but a lot of other people are wayyy into it. Definitely a weird night out as you usually see people dressed up in strange costumes of days gone by. Think of how surprised your history buff boyfriend would be!
