The Sandusky store has mattresses on special. My wife and I picked one which was perfect for our guest room. What was delivered was hard as a rock. When we went to complain we were told that«in a few months of use it will soften up». When I explained that it was for a guest room for my grandson I was told, «13 year olds can sleep on anything, don’t worry about it.» Absolutely no effort to help, offer alternatives or in any way care about the fact that the product delivered was NOTHING like the product in the store. Extremely poor business practices.

I am happy to say that Levin Furniture has graciously offered a full refund of mattress. Amy who works there corrected misunderstanding with management and I am satisfied with outcome. I will be happy to go back now that I know they will stand behind their merchandise.

We’ve recently furnished our home with furniture from Levin and have not been impressed with their service and quality of product. We purchased a sectional in July that began to sag and the material breaking down within 2 months. Service department told us it was«the nature of the product». They also said that all salespeople on the showroom are responsible for a portion of the store. When product begins to look worn or breaks down — they order a new one. Do not be fooled by something you think looks great and stands up to multiple people shopping and testing furniture. We purchased a wood pub table that acquired visible scratches from minimal use — not impressed. Amish custom furniture was delivered with a «faded» front piece to one of the dresser drawers. We’re still waiting for the service department to return a call and send someone out. In my opinion Levin has the largest selection around, but most of their coupons don’t apply to their«already discounted prices». Shop around for better quality. Service department and communication is HORRIBLE. Never return calls — lose appointments and force service technicians to make multiple trips that are not necessary. They have ordered wrong replacements for us twice.

I’m flabbergasted by the call I received this afternoon. I went to Levin last Saturday(8⁄11) because they were having a big sale. I found a nice sectional couch that was marked down to right in my price range. I decided against financing it and put ¼ of the price down on layaway. I had planned on paying it off and having it delivered by the end of the month. Today(8⁄15), I received a call from nice lady who helped me on Saturday and she told me that«since the couch was on a special price and demand was high» that they needed me to pay it off and schedule deliver as soon as possible, or I would be refunded my money. I asked for ONEWEEK to pay off the balance of the couch and her manager apparently begrudgingly agreed. What the hell? The whole idea of layaway is to lock down a product and a price and then pay it off over time. How can any self-respecting business call a customer who just committed to buying a product and basically FORCE them to pay it off in under two weeks? What a joke. The worst part is, I live near downtown Cleveland so if I had asked for my money back(I paid in cash), I would have had to waste an hour of my time and several gallons of gas to drive all the way out to Avon and back. I want the couch and since I have to drive out there one way or the other, I have to come up with the balance in less than a week. Better Business Bureau is my next call.
