Outstanding steak house in Beaver Creek. The historic component and atmosphere coupled with the staff’s willingness to discuss the Old West memorabilia present throughout the building makes this place stand apart from all other fine dining venues in the Vail/Beaver Creek area. The restaurant is tucked away within the community near the Highlands lift which, in our case, made it a short walk. The buffalo strip is outstanding. When you come, do not be quick leave. I recommend you casually explore all the rooms in the facility and browse the history on display.

During our long weekend in beaver creek we scheduled one high end dinner and with all the great options in the area we had a hard time choosing a venue. We settled on SaddleRidge having not been there in years. The ambience was wonderful, very cozy with a Colorado vibe and the food was(for the most part) delicious. We started with a bowl of the elk and Buffalo chili which was wonderful and easily shareable. We then had the mussles which we could have gone without– the broth’s most prominent flavor was salt and the hard toasted bread was not ideal for dipping. The highlight of the meal was the entrées with the buffalo strip at medium rare being perfection. The Colorado rainbow trout was well prepared and seasoned and was a nice lighter dish. Overall the meal was delicious and we would recommend SaddleRidge to friends.

Like many other places in the Vail Valley /Beaver Creek this place thinks they’re ready for premium prices and gourmet food. In my opinion they’re not. Service is terrible and incompetent… tapping diners on their shoulders to get attention. Mixing up dishes, reprimanding children, neither welcoming nor knowledgable about their dishes. The space is typical western/colorado themed. With some interesting artifacts. But that doesn’t make up for the food, which is of average quality, presentation and preparation. The prices are however extremely high.

We love to eat here. The food is wonderful and it’s our favorite place to eat in Beaver Creek. We have eaten here 4 times and have always left talking about coming back.

What is going on with this place? There’s buzz all over the mountain about this place. That it just opened for lunch, so we skied to it, or I should say by it because the signs were horrendous. After skiing past it and having to walk back up the hill, we were met by a lovely lady who welcomed us and gave us slippers. She was the only redeeming quality about this place. Our waiter was intoxicated(yup, I confirmed it with another patron) and the food was meh. We ordered elk carpaccio and there were these three little sad pieces of meat on a large bed of salad. What a miss. We ate the pot pie and the sloppy joe which were fine, but the piece of sweaty processed cheese on the sloppy joe made me think twice before eating it. There are so many things that need improving at this place including the signage on the ski side(other people complained of this as well). There is no «view» but the place itself is beautiful. There are many things that need to be improved upon though.

It is very unfortunate that I am having to give Saddleridge such a poor review, but our experience was so dreadful that I believe that it would be a disservice to others if didn’t share. We made our reservation with a very nice and seemingly competent woman. She understood that Zack’s Cabin had said that they couldn’t accommodate our group of 16 ppl(at one table) and so she said that she would do her very best to accommodate us and make it a special evening for our wedding celebration. She ultimately said that they were able to accommodate our group, but that it would have to be much later than we had requested. We spoke to her multiple times(both my mother and now husband) going over all the details. Upon entering the restaurant following the wedding on NYE it took the hostess approximately 10 minutes to greet us upon walking up the stairs. When she did great us she seemed a little frantic and said that our«tables» wouldn’t be ready for a bit. When she said tables we immediately let her know that this was a wedding party and that we had specifically discussed with the reservation host(multiple times) that our family wanted to be seated at one table. She then told us that she didn’t believe that they could accommodate us at one table at that time but would speak with her manager, Jeff. After standing at the front of the restaurant for over an HOUR(without offering drinks, or a seat, or even a mention of an apology) we begin to get very irritated. My mother then goes to speak with Jeff(who quite frankly seemed in way over his head). Being the mother of the bride she was upset that her daughters wedding dinner had turned into a disaster with upset and exhausted children and unhappy guests. He then not only raises his voice but gets in her face in a threatening manner. He tells us that there is no way that we were ever told that we could be seated together because the restaurant doesn’t accommodate 16 people at one table. After raised voices and bickering back at forth he finally agrees to set one table and accommodate our party. We were seated an hour and 15 minutes after our reservation! NOTONCE throughout the evening does the manager come and apologize and check on our party. We were SHOCKED when we finished the meal without a word of an apology or even a «comped» dessert! The waitress and coat check and multiple other staff members were lovely, but ultimately it was a very unfortunate and poorly handled situation. I am extremely disappointed by the service that we received and would warn others to clearly go over all details(and perhaps even get it in writing) if you plan on celebrating a special occasion at Saddleridge.

We had our wedding reception here and it was incredible. The food was amazing(especially the ginger spiced mashed sweet potatoes) and the staff did a wonderful job of taking care of everything that needed to happen from the moment we arrived. Our guests couldn’t stop talking about what a fun place it was and the old west ambiance fit perfectly into our mountain theme. This is a beautiful place and I highly recommend it for any wedding!

The ambiance of Saddleridge is more than unique. The soaring, beamed dining area & the wood paneled intimate library on the first floor provide the backdrop for a lovely evening. The wine list is superb. Indulge in the rabbit & quail appetizers. The entrees are nice, as are the desserts. As with BC, the cost is substantial. However, it’s entirely worth it here.
