Luxury dining at a luxury hotel on a luxury ski mountain. Prices generally reflected that. We started with a tuna sashimi appetizer that was north of $ 25. It came with 4 tiny, tiny pieces. It was good, but not a great value. 2 couples split 2 pizzas, which were pretty good, but I think those might have given us queasy stomachs later that evening. Beer and wine selection were great. Easy to make a reservation there instead of searching for spaces in the general BC cafeterias.

Went here for a birthday party with some of my closest friends. The restaurant is awesome and the food lets just say I enjoyed every bite of my NY stake, wife’s salmon dish was amazing, friends lamb chops were definitely a five star. Desserts four stars, service Five stars.

ZERO for service. The server disappeared after taking our order and we never saw him again. Asked 3 times for our check every server who passed by finally the manager shows up and says«here you go» no apologies, no questions, no explanation. Wolfgang Puck would probably fire them both for that kind of service. That being said the food was good. We shared a mushroom pizza, the crust was good and light, could have been a little thinner, the pumpkin soup was tasty, Caesar salad was nicely presented and the dressing was good as well. The service killed the experience.

Yum yum in my tum tum! I’d been wanting to try Spago for ages, so after booking a recent weekend at the Ritz, I knew Spago would be our big dinner and it didn’t disappoint! Mistake on our part — not managing our bellies better throughout the day. Come HH time we were famished, and filled up on appetizers in the Ritz Club Lounge. By the time we made it to dinner, we knew we’d only be sharing an entrée. Oops! Our waitress greeted us right away and helped make some menu recommendations(pheasant pot pie — OMG). After deciding to share the pot pie + a side, they brought around the bread service, which = yum! I could’ve eaten a gazillion of the pretzel rolls. So tasty! When the pot pie came out, we were seriously impressed. Not only is it gorgeous, but it’s like put your elbows up and protect your food from scavengers good. I wish we’d had more room to get our own! We also decided dessert was a must and settled on the gingersnap or gingerbread bread pudding. As if everything hadn’t been great, the dessert really sent this fat kid to heaven. Many thumbs up for Spago! Can’t wait to go back on an empty stomach.

Short but sweet: I’ve been to this restaurant twice, both times around New Years when they were busy, once for lunch and once for dinner, and I have to say it was perfect both times. Everything here is fantastic. Their drinks, their food, their service, the view… I have had what is perhaps the best meal of my life here and I would suggest it to anyone who can find a way to get here. Just know it’s expensive. Be adventurous, try some new things, and have fun :)

We had an enjoyable lunch at Spago over the holidays. It was busy with Beaver Creek skiers, but we were able to be seated within 20 minutes of putting our name in. The service was attentive and friendly. Cocktails are pricey, and they have a nice wine list. I would definitely recommend the Thai chicken salad, the salmon pizza, and the burger. The pizza crust was perfect, and the dill crème fraîche was amazing with the salmon. I loved the salad, especially the dressing. The goulash was nice too. I thought the tuna was just OK. It’s expensive, but a very good meal to enjoy while visiting the Vail area.

My favorite lunch spot in Beaver Creek. Spago is a Wolfang Puck restaurant in the Ritz Carlton but is an easy stop during a day of skiing. It’s maybe 20 steps from where you drop your skis. The bar staff is always friendly and knowledgeable. It’s pricier than the other lunch options on the mountain but that shouldn’t surprise you. We always get the bolognese and something else. This time, that something else was the strongly recommended spicy goulash. It was amazing! The perfect warm and spicy break from the cold of the mountain. Yum, I’m craving it right now as I finish this review.

The staff here is very friendly and we were able to make and change reservations without any problems. The service was great also, and everyone was really friendly. We got the Australian Wagyu steak and the lamb chops, and both were very delicious and perfectly cooked to medium rare. We thought the restaurant was a bit overpriced though, and we probably would not have dined here if it wasn’t highly recommended by our party.

Admittedly not the best service. And not cheap. Yet, the food and wine overcame the service issues. Sat outside and Listened to some great music while being served some really great food. Salmon pizza is a must. Ask for the pizza menu.

Sat at the bar and had dinner. Bartenders efficient and friendly. Had a bowl of the corn and crab chowder, terrific presentation; could use a tad more roasted corn kernels and crab for additional texture and flavor; quite tasty. Had the sausage pizza, was really good. Ok wine selection.

It’s ok. Had some drinks and a dessert. Service was not what I expected for a restaurant located inside a Ritz, it was below average. Restaurant wasn’t even full and the service was not good.

FORDINNER: Way overpriced for what you get. The server might have been in training(let’s hope so) because she had no idea what was on the menu. Although it wasn’t busy, my friend and I had to wait forever for service, ask for drink menus, ask for dinner menus, ask for our drinks to be refilled. I asked if they had a cheese plate, and the answer should have just been«no». It was one of the weakest cheese plates I have ever had, and I am a HUGE fan of cheese. It is exceedingly rare I do not enjoy a cheese plate. The accompaniment was uninspired, and it was full of such pungent cheese that I could barely eat more than a few bites. And I love stinky cheese. The manchego was good but I had to ask for it subsequently as I saw it on the menu and thus requested it. Pizza was pretty good — I’d recommend getting that. The tuna roll things were kinda strange and fried and I didn’t really like them that much. In sum, it’s okay if you’re staying at the Ritz plus cool atmosphere. BRUNCH: I was there for a wedding and was much more impressed with the brunch, although there was no tomato served with the lox and bagels which I thought was pretty bizarre. Again, the view of the mountain was great and since it was a buffet problems with the service were non-existent.

I came to Spago for Christmas dinner twice while vacationing at Beaver Creek. The food the first time was pretty good, overpriced but an okay experience. I would have given it 3 stars. However, the second time we went, the food was extremely over salted and not enjoyable. Service was okay, and we got to meet Wolfgang Puck which was fun. I’d recommend looking elsewhere. It was cool to meet a celebrity chef but not worth the money.

Ahh, Wolfgang Puck’s chain restaurant Spago… over it. Perhaps I’m just annoyed because I’ve eaten here too many times(Beaver Creek, Vegas, and LA). I think I might actually prefer Wolfgang Puck express in the airport over Spago at this point. Just kidding… sort of. The food was fine this time(per usual) except when I tried to order desert. If you’re in LA or Vegas, you can do better. In Beaver Creek, I’m sad to admit that this is one of your better options.

Wonderful atmosphere and great food. The chestnut pasta is unique and slightly sweet, the steak and tuna tartares were decent. The sommelier made the evening and pushed a 4 star review to a 5 star easily. He selected a fantastic wine, offered a slight discount to meet our quoted budget(unnecessary but appreciated), and was warm and gracious. We’ll be back.

Nearly impeccable from start to finish — fine dining as it should be! When we arrived, there was no one at the hosting stand. We really couldn’t blame them as there was nobody in the restaurant, but within 45 seconds, we were spotted and immediately tended after profuse apologies and checked our coats. Our server was extremely knowledgeable and rattled off the specials without hesitation. Lots of positive eye contact. For all the fanciness of the place, she was not pretentious at all and so eager to make us comfortable. Her entire team was just as friendly and flawless: our waters were kept filled, the amazing bread platter was proffered as frequently as requested, and the food arrived without any awkard lulls. After we finished our dessert, our server called our complimentary shuttle for us. The dining room is spacious with a high ceiling. The décor is filled with warm reds and oranges, with a huge hand-woven red rug anchoring the room on one wall and a gorgeous, long bench beneath it. Some of the chairs were leather; other had wooden backs; several were some sort of hairy hide with cow print. Quirky Americana? The 4 other guests were dressed in business casual(nice slacks and sweaters), as were we. As for the food… well, all of the dishes were awesome with attention to quality and freshness. The appetizer was probably the best gnocchi I have ever had, and it was served on a bed of forest mushrooms. My entrée of duck was especially tender and flavorful, and the husband’s chicken had some delicious creamy goat cheese stuffed under its crispy skin. For dessert, we ordered the Grasshopper Cheesecake. The husband is not really a cheesecake fan, but he(and I) thought this puffy, light-as-air version was stunning with its toasted marshmallow, mint chocolate chip ice cream, and small bits of brownie cubes. Our overriding impression was that the flavors of each dish were well-balanced and carefully thought-out. A perfect dining experience as either treat after a day or skiing or for a special occasion!

Was out at Beaver Creek hosting a work event at the Ritz-Carlton. Considering I’m not used to the altitude, I was happy I didn’t need to go far for a nice dinner. Had the Tuna & Hamachi Sashimi for a starter, which was very fresh. The toppings and Pumpkin Seed Oil gave the fish a slightly different flavor, but I liked that it wasn’t too heavy to overpower the flavor of the fish itself. Was hesitant at first, but ordered the Venison«Filet Mignon»(medium rare) at the recommendation of my waiter. Was not disappointed — the meat was extremely tender and flavorful. Overall service was very attentive and pleasant.

What more is there to say about Spago. It’s awesome. The service is everything you’d expect. What I love about this place(and most restaurants in Colorado) is that it’s not too stuff. Where else are you going to get white glove service some somebody in a fleece pullover. Put that in an Old Navy add. The thing is, it works! It’s a great restaurant in a great setting. Just the tip — try the blackberry tequila cocktail.

We were staying at the Ritz at Bachelor Gulch for a week, had a dinner there, couple of happy hour pizzas, and every breakfasts for the week! For the dinner, the food was great, the portion was right for me but not for my husband’s(in fact the $ 50+ NY Stripe was pretty small). I regret to say for the price I had better at same ranking restaurants; on the other hand, the happy hour pizza was great! For $ 12 you get a really good pizza which is the bargain of the century at that part of the world, and the Grey Goose martini was delicious; Breakfast was good, but so as every other Ritz Carlton hotels’ breakfast, in another word, there is nothing to rave about. My conclusion, if you are in Beaver Creek from Thur to Mon, don’t miss the happy hour(till 7 pm) at Spago; if you have a big appetite after all those hiking, and don’t really want to spend $ 300 for a dinner for two, Spago is not for you(anyway, I guess I really wish Nobu in Aspen also opens in Ritz Bachelor Gulch).

We went here for a friend’s 30th birthday while we were staying at the Ritz Carlton. Spago made her birthday so special for all of us. The service was impeccable. Our waiter Jason actually knew what he was talking about when it came to the food and wine. He did a great job of recommending(up-selling) the truffle appetizer, which cost $ 50. It was like little pillows of heaven with shaved white truffles on top and in my opinion, if you have the money, it was completely worth it. I got seared tuna«aqua pazza» which was a special order since the«aqua pazza» came with salmon on the menu, they were more than happy to switch things up, and I actually combined two dishes at the recommendation of our server. It was a delicious decision. They brought us each a dessert– which we didn’t even order, and they were all amazing. Mine was especially funny since they overheard me talking about how Will was the greatest water pourer ever(see pics). My two friends and I laughed more than I ever have in my life. We felt comfortable and at ease with the whole waitstaff, and were genuinely impressed with the level of service they provided. They dealt with 3 overly giggly and loud girls for 3 hours. That takes some patience. The food was spectacular, but be prepared to shell out some serious dough. Our meal came to over $ 400 for 3 people with comped desserts. BUT we also drank A LOT. So of course booze adds up. Especially when the birthday girl orders $ 20 glasses of wine. If you want to have a good time, eat really good food, have well prepared drinks, and look at cute waitstaff(for you ladies) go here. Now I miss Spago. Someone want to spot me $ 500 so I can go back?
