My wife and I lived here for a year and just recently left to move to the north side of town. We rented a 2 bedroom 2 bath apartment for around $ 799(they were running a $ 50/month special at the time). I loved the floor plan as the the living room and dining area were side by side so it made for a huge living space. The bedrooms are adequate size and we had a decent amount of room left with our 3-piece furniture set. One thing I loved about this apartment: TONS of storage space. Both bedroom closets are walk-ins, there is a linen closet, a coat closet, and large patio storage. The only real complaint we had about the apartment was the dishwasher. It was caked with mineral deposits and we were told that is just how the water in Avon is. We attempted to clean it but didn’t have any luck so we ended up just hand washing our dishes. The community was generally well-kept up during the summer and offers a weight room, pool, enclosed dog park, and car washing station(which I took a lot of advantage of). This last winter was a pain with all the snow we received. If it had snowed the night before, the sidewalks would not be cleared until about 10 or 10:30. They also contract out their snow removal services on the roads so don’t expect them to be clear until well into the afternoon if not later. These issues aside, we never really had problems. The neighbors were all very respectful and never had any noise issues. I will note that, while not the apartment complexes fault, the USPS mail carriers that service the apartments are very incompetent. I can’t tell you the number of times we had misplaced or lost packages due to the fault of the carrier. The community is very pet friendly with a lot of sidewalks to take your dog on a walk as well as numerous pet clean-up stations. The dog park is just a large fenced in grassy area, but it is fun to play in since it is so big(especially in the winter with a lot of snow). As the one other person mentioned, right behind the complex is a sewage treatment plant. On various days during the summer, the air definitely reeks. Ironically, the day I visited the apartments for the first time, you couldn’t smell anything. I don’t think it would have stopped us from living there, but it would have been nice to be informed about it. It never made the inside of our apartment smell though which was good. The area in Avon where the apartments are located is fantastic. There is a huge park just across the street with a large pond and a lot of walking/biking trails. If you have kids there is also a huge playground area. Just a couple minutes down the road is another park with a large playground area plus a lot of mountain biking trails. McDonalds and Kroger are right down the road as well. The staff was always very friendly to us in the office and the maintenance guys were all very great. They were super nice and fixed things in a very timely manner. I would just like to say that the reason my score tipped from 4 stars to 5 stars was because of the deposit. In the 4 different apartments I’ve lived in over the past several years, I’ve never gotten more than half of my deposit back. Each time we scrub everything down and make sure things are spotless when we move out. They always seem to find«something» wrong. Washington Quarters gave us back all $ 450 of our deposit. Suffice it to say I was amazed and very grateful. I would indeed live here again if the opportunity presented itself.

We lived at Washington Quarters with our two cats while we were building a house. When we moved in, screen had tears in that were taped. The carpet was new and the apartment had been painted. The paint did not seal what was behind it in the kitchen because something would come through when we cooked. If you want to use the pool, you will find that it is not heated. We rarely used it during the summer. When we move out they tried to make us pay to replace the screen that was torn when we moved in. It still was not fixed after we had moved out 2 weeks previously. You are required to have your carpets professionally cleaned before you move out. We did that and the professional cleaner that we hired(their card is in the apartment complex lobby) did not say anything about any damage to the carpet. Because of that we did not request to be present at the walk through. They then supposedly brought in their own carper cleaner who basically said the carpets were ruined. We were charged $ 1000 to replace the carpet, pad and to seal the floors. The day after I got the bill, I asked to see proof that the carpets were damaged. They said that they had disposed of the carpet and they wouldn’t even prove that the carpet had even been replaced. I wish we had gone to a different apartment complex.

I lived here for 3 years and loved it. The staff, both office and maintenance, were great. I even got my kitten from one if the maintenance guys. Any time I had any problem with my apartment, it was taken care of in a very timely manner. I would live here again. The only con is the smell from the sewer plant but it never came into my apartment and most of Avon suffers from this smell. The prices are good for the area. I paid 639 for my apartment, which was a one bedroom with a washer and dryer included. The gas & electric bill was never above 70 bucks… It was a great value.
