The Chenoa Manor is a non-profit animal sanctuary. It has farm animals and exotics. I had the opportunity to tour the grounds and meet many of the animals. It’s great that they been able to save so many animals. And anyone can help out by donating to this organization. Note — It’s also important to mention that they do not accept domestic animals or animals surrendered by their owners at this sanctuary.

Dan beat me to the first review! Our vegetarian meet up group just got back from a wonderful tour of Chenoa Manor. It’s truly amazing, the dedication and work that the owner and volunteers put into the place. Getting to see the animals graze freely and happily is wonderful, and I especially loved hearing the stories of the animals on the sanctuary. We were lucky enough to visit with a goat and two rams who wanted nothing more than pets and head scratches. The pigs were also entertaining as they rubbed against the fence trying to reach an itch. Other animals who call Chenoa home include: cows, tortoises, turkeys, geese, rabbits, llamas, chickens, mules, horses, parrots, dogs, and an extremely friendly cat. Chenoa also runs a youth program, allowing for high schoolers to spend time working on the farm and tending to the animals. A visit to Chenoa definitely displays the interconnection between species. Getting to be up close with the animals, it’s clear that there isn’t much of a difference between farm animals and the dog or cat that you call your pet. Whether vegetarian, vegan, or carnist, I recommend visiting the farm during their next tour, or donating if you’re able. I had a lovely time, and I will be coming back in the future and bringing others with me.
