so I am visiting my family for a week(visiting from the north bay area of cali) and really wanted to try some of the new shops that had opened up since i had moved. first on my list was this little gem. the first few times we went they were closed, despite the sign with their hours stating they should be open. the third time we went the owner saw us pull up and ran out to tell us his freezer was sick. i was just happy we finally had a reason for why they had been closed. but seriously, next time hang up a little sign written in marker that says that so people dont drive off thinking you are some unprofessional worker gone for a quick, unscheduled break. ANYWAYS i was finally fortunate enough to drive by while they were open. and i can say without a doubt it was worth the wait! the flavor i decided to go with was maple bacon. if you are like me and enjoy bizarre things, i highly suggest this flavor. if not, then this definitely isnt the flavor for you. bits of bacon make this rich ice cream more balanced and very unique. my sister, being a bit more cautious in her flavor choices, chose the banana pudding. i dont think ive ever seen her eat anything so fast! she said they had chunks of banana and vanilla wafers in it. YUM. i got my mom a cake pop and she said it was okay. she really didnt seem horribly impressed, but she still ate a good chunk of it, so it couldnt have been all bad. it smelled really yummy :) the prices are very affordable and, considering the richness of the ice cream, i cant really recommend anything beyond the single scoop. all in all, the four stars is based on the slight miss with the cake pop. but the service and ice cream flavors more than made up for that! i highly recommend lickadee split and will probably be back later tonight for my shot at some of that banana pudding!
