I have found my new go-to sushi place. We moved to Azusa 2 years ago and have been looking for a good sushi place. So far we have been mostly disappointed with the places around here, but we are really impressed with Aloha Sushi. The sushi was great, the prices were great, and the service was great. I want to go back tomorrow.

This was my first visit & definitely won’t be my last. We ordered the Sexy Mama, Samurai & the Philly Tempura. Everything tasted so good. My favorite was the Sexy Mama. My BFF’s favorite was the Samurai. I can’t wait to bring more people to share this place with. Chef Jackie & our server, Jaylinn(sp) were GREAT!

I had driven by this place many times over the past year or so and had not thought much of stopping in. However, being that it was Lent and after reading so many rave reviews here on Unilocal,I decided to give this restaurant a try on a recent Friday night. From the outside, the restaurant is not much to look at and, while the inside is decorated minimally but tastefully, you can tell this space is a «repurposed» space. Where Aloha Sushi excels, though, is where it matters most… the food. Over the years, I have dined at many upscale sushi places and I would honestly put this chef’s sushi and sashimi up against any of them. The portions are generous, the rolls are delicious and the fish used in the sushi and sashimi is some of the freshest I have had in a long time. Best of all, the prices were amazingly affordable. We paid about $ 40 for a meal that could have easily cost $ 90 — $ 100 somewhere more upscale. The only negatives, and they were minor overall: 1. There was only one girl working the entire floor. She was hostess/server/bus person/cashier. The place was busy and it was hard to get her attention. She was very sweet and apologetic about it and I will admit, I felt bad for her as she was kept extremely busy all night. I hope they hire someone to help her out. 2. They do not serve alcohol. This was not a problem for me as I gave up alcohol for Lent, but my wife enjoys sake with her Sushi. BOTTOMLINE: Fresh fish prepared perfectly at a price that can’t be beat… we will definitely be visiting on a regular basis.

My bf and I recently moved near by and we have been on the hunt for a sushi spot… We pulled in and it was pretty empty, next door is closed down with black plastic on the windows, we kind of got skeptical, but like they say, dont judge a book by its cover. We ordered our rolls, I got a seaweed salad, lets just say, BEST sea weed salad ive ever had. Our rolls took a while to come out, we are used to rolls coming out one by one so we were kind of wondering whats up. When they came out, our jaws must have hit the table, the presentation was beautiful!!! Turns out, they put it all on one platter. We had to take pictures and snapchat it haha it was irresistible! It just was so pretty, didnt even want to touch it haha We took our first couple of bites and as I was thinking, my boyfriend was saying…“babe, i think we found our sushi spot“ Indeed we did! Aloha Sushi, you guys are doing sushi juuuust right! Friendly staff as well! Very happy costumers! Oh – our dinner was very affordable as well!

Haven’t been here since Jackie took over. Before the change this was an ayce restaurant, ok food. Last night I was impressed with the different combinations and creativity with his sushi. Food is fresh made with great detail. This is our new spot in azusa, as kanpai sushi is no longer. If we didn’t find out how good the food is here we would have had to drive to honda ya. 5 stars, but they need to get their liquor license. Beer or sake shouldn’t take a star away.

This place is located in a small plaza, but it’s definitely a hidden gem! I love how they have a buy 3 get 30%-50% off sushi. The best thing is the offer is per table so you don’t have to worry about having to order 3 and eat them all yourself, because these rolls are pretty big and filling. Their samurai roll is one of my favorite as well as the spicy gem. I recommend trying those out if you like the spicy food. This place has high quality taste and extremely friendly staff. Their miso soup is really good too! I’ve recommended this place to everyone I know who loves sushi.

Took my 3 kids and my hubby here on a busy Wednesday night. The food was AMAZING and Jackie was super nice and friendly. Got 6 orders of yummy rolls ranging $ 3-$ 6 each, and each time, they were gone without a trace in minutes. Shrimp and complimentary edamame were deelish! Definitely will be coming back soon! Do yourself a favor and try this amazing hidden gem in Azusa!

Ate here once last year when they opened. I can say the food was great, salmon eggs were fresh. Ayce was really cheap, my girl doesn’t like sushi but she got the rainbow roll and she liked it. I eat all sushi and everything I had was great, I highly recommend this place!

this place is literally the only sushi restaurant i recommend to all my friends. the food is decorated real nice and they have this«buy 3 rolls get all of them half price» deal, which my boyfriend and i do, and just share the third role. they also give out free lightly salted edamame before you enjoy your meal. parking is easy and the place is always clean and tidy. there are three huge screen TVs for customers to choose what they want to watch, and there is always sports or news showing. you can also sit at the bar, which faces the chef so that you can see him make your sushi. chef jackie is the friendliest, nicest, and funniest sushi chef i have ever met. if you’re on his BFF list(which i am), he is always more than happy to let you try his new creations for free and occasionally give us ice cream on the house. it isn’t hard to get on that level though, because jackie is always smiling and welcoming new costumers with his amazing decorating skills or lame heavily japanese accented jokes. his side kick yoshikoh is also the kindest waitress ever who will make fun of jackie’s lame jokes alongside you. i always try to tip them generously but they sometimes refuse to let me, knowing that i’m just a college student. that is just a bonus on why i enjoy coming here so much ;) so whether you’re craving for sushi after a long day of classes or a fun day at disneyland, aloha is the place to go!

Came in to try the food after finally getting the chance to stop in. The looks from the outside were nothing fancy, however I was pleasantly surprised when I went in. It was very clean and I was greeted by the hostess and the chef. I took advantage of the 50% off deal when purchasing 3 sushi rolls. I had the dragon roll, Philadelphia roll, and super shrimp roll. All were delicious and had great presentation, even for take out lunch. I recommend this spot and keep returning for more.

Omg! This is by far the best sushi we have had in Southern California! The dragon roll, king crab, and Alaskan roll were amazing! We also had the jalapeño bomb appetizer is a must have! It wasn’t that spicy at all and had incredible flavor! We can’t wait to come back here again soon!

Unfortunately I don’t agree with the five star reviewers on the taste of the food here. We thought it was a solid 3 stars, right in the middle and kind of mediocre. The ayce has 3 levels of food, and only the most expensive one at roughly $ 27 pp actually gives you sushi. We went with the cheapest ayce and just got rolls. They included spicy salmon and tuna hand rolls, so we had a couple of them. The spicy tuna was good but I was not impressed with he salmon, which is usually my favorite. I have to say that the service was fantastic! They were very attentive and kind. The free ice cream(with ayce) was only about 2 big bites. We almost laughed. But it was very good! I got the plum wine ice cream and hubby got the green tea.

Visited aloha twice in 2 days! Embarrassingly, the second time we walked in they said in shock ‘you guys are back?!?’ This place has great service, it might take a little bit to get your food, so don’t go if you’re in a rush. But, it is well worth it. They have great cuts of fresh fish and an even greater presentation. The wait staff make great recommendations. I loved the salmon caviar, it’s not for everyone, so if you haven’t acquired a taste for fishy fish, save it for later lol. Go for the Cajun Salmon and plum wine sorbet!!! Yum yum!

We wanted to try a new spot and found this location on Unilocal.Gave it a try and it was delicious! All the sushi rolls were great, the only small disappointment was the baked green mussels, they tasted over cooked. Service was quick and staff was friendly. We are definitely coming back!

My Husband and I(hehe newlyweds, gotta get used to callin’ him that) were invited here by my brother in law & his gf for dinner and it was deeelish! This hole in the wall threw me off with the name having Aloha– I assumed it was mostly Hawaiian entrees with few sushi to offer but it was the other way around! Great new find We ordered AYCE at $ 24.99(Lunch is $ 19.99) If you’re not sushi fiends like us, you can order regular rolls($ 9 avg) or go with their 50% off deals(Order 3 rolls and get them At half price) Place has both tables and Booth seating. 1 Sushi Chef &1 Waitress both Japanese & based on other reviews, maybe husband & wife. Good service & Rolls are actually abundant when ordering AYCE(more than 30 to choose from) but Definitely need to try more types and will be returning.
