Calvary Chapel San Gabriel Valley

I have been going to Calvary Chapel San Gabriel Valley for over 10 years. If you want a Bible believing church that teaches the whole word of God verse by verse, book by book, this is your church. The teachings are just that, in depth. Don’t expect a 15 minute joke filled feel good talk to get you out the door in time for food type of teaching. They have 30 minutes of praise music, then about 45 min to an hour of teaching. There is a children’s teaching area.
CCSGV has great outreaches in LA, local parks, and in Central America. They believe in spreading the Gospel.
The building is small, as this small group of believers sponsors mission activities much larger than their size. This is an active church. All activities are focused on teaching and spreading Gods word. Don’t expect a lot of feel good meet the neighbors bake sales and socials out of that context.
I have learned a lot about Bible teachings here. The Pastors have always encouraged me to question their teaching, and require them to show exactly where they are located in the Bible. If you’re serious about learning the Word, this is a great location to do so.

I would give it no stars if I could. I have heard nothing but bad things about this church from people who served their years ago but I thought I would give it a chance since I live in Azusa, but I always wondered why it’s not called Calvary Chapel Azusa & why it never grows and seems to get smaller and smaller & now I know why…
1^st it’s hard to find where the entrance is we got their 15 minutes early and saw no signs, no parking guy, no usher. So we tried to go into front but couldn’t so went around back and some people barely got their, so finding parking walking around driving around it was 7 already.
2 gals walked right in, but when my husband & I got to the door some tall, old, fat man shut the door and crossed his arms and mad dogged my husband.
My husband said is this Calvary Chapel he said yes. Got in my husbands face and said what’s your name? We should of left right than we just could not believe this is their greeter. Come to find out the guy isn’t even Christian he is a hired security guard. What happened to a welcoming face and place.
It’s tiny, tiny, tiny. 2 people out 16 where friendly. Noisy, dark and for some reason my seat was wet.
A lot of teenagers, every time I sang they would turn around & look at me. They did not pay attention they straight up had a conversation while the so called pastor preached on rape.
He added to God’s word, he said things that were not in the Bible, he mainly talked about himself and tried to be funny.
The guy leading worship was not skilled. I NEVER walked out of ANY Calvary Chapel before but we did this one.
NO love at this church. Don’t go here keep driving to a real God teaching church any other Calvary in town.

Such a cute awesome bookstore with all kinds of Christian items.
Small, but unique,
I just loved the place.
The person that runs this bookstore was so kind and helpful,
Most importantly… her heart was submerged in the Lord.
This is the place if you want great Christian books… etc.

Calvary Chapel San Gabriel Valley is right next to Max Mexican Food… where we had a very delicious lunch.
Yup…get a little blessed looking at all the great items and get a little Mexican food from Max.
