This is one of my favorite restaurants anywhere. I have so many great memories there. Anyone know why it closed or if they moved to another location?

WTH… Why is this amazing place closed. My heart is broken. Where am I going to get chicken with creamy champagne sauce. No one makes it like they did. And the bread. So amazing. Best part was to eat the left over sauce with the bread. I drove from the OC just now because I was craving it and now it’s gone. :(

Occasionally you come across a good restaurant in a spot that is not ideal. I really think that is what the situation here is. They had some tasty grub, a relaxed atmosphere, but the location… wow… not the best spot at all. This seemed like a great date spot until you realize that this little strip mall is not the kind of place that you can expect things to go well at. Heck there was an adult toys shop a shady check cashing place a liquor store and some other stuff nearby. The graffiti that I saw didn’t help either. The service was slow but pleasant. The restaurant didn’t seem to be that busy overall as only ¼ to 1⁄3 of the tables were taken up, but the folks that were there seemed to be enjoying themselves thoroughly. I believe that was due to the fact that they had some very very tasty grub. I had the raviolis and they were delicious. The food is the only reason to come here, obviously, but it did offset the other factors. Too bad that this place was in a bad area and was slow on the service end. If it had been in a better place, I would have enjoyed it much much more.

Christmas Eve with my sister for late leisurely lunch. Had the chicken Marsala with mushrooms, farfalle, broccoli, bruschetta, focaccia, and finished with spumoni and tiramisu. Friendly owners as you might expect from Italians… even shared a recipe with us. Once you enter the front doors, you’re in Italy! Thank you Edwardo and Julianna for another great memory. I’ve posted four pictures.

When Tulipano’s is on its game, the good is great. When not, it’s just okay. The strip mall location and neighboring shops may be a bit offputting, but the place is a class act inside. Have been there several times, and certainly won’t object to going again in the future.

This is my favorite and special Italian place that I reserve for special occasions. It’s located in an area that’s not reflective of what it looks like inside. The owners are chef and waitress from Naples. The bruschetta is exquisite! You can keep asking for refills too! Spaghetti is to die for! Ambiance is really classy. They can also make you whatever dish you want. A romantic place to take special friends to. Price is well worth it.

This is hands down thee best Italian restaurant in the area. I miss authenticity Italian food. I usually order the spinach pasta dish with sausage and white cream sauce. It is a heaping serving! Keep in mind that the white cream sauce is made to order so be patient. It’s so worth the wait. They have Diet Coke. !!!

The best italian food around. Very authentic. With the taste of the food I feel as though I’m in Italy, having been there the food here is just as amazing if not better. The best part of going to Italy was always the amazing food, but now with discovering Tulipano I don’t have to travel far to get real italian food. The service is outstanding. The daily specials are amazing unique dishes not on the menu very good.

Cutest little Italian restaurant ever! Loved the owners. loved the food. I was admiring all their walls,(and bathroom walls too. lol) so, I took all sorts of pictures. It really did feel like you are in Italy. Can’t wait to go back! Thanks to our friend Larry who recommended us to this place.

Closest you will get to home-style Italian food, my father has been going here for years and he’s an Italian from Napoli! Vincenzo was my waiter when I first enjoyed Tulipanos, his humor and generosity was beautiful.

Was really bummed out to receive the food I got tonight. I bought the penne vodka to go. When I got home I opened up my box to find about a handful of pasta. I was so disappointed. I usually love this place but I couldn’t believe I was skimped so badly.

Food was great. They will make anything you ask for as long as they have the ingredients. Only bad thing is they are pretty expensive considering they in a pretty bad location(next to a liquor store & sex shop).

This place is amazing truly authentic and very friendly service. Everything is made from scratch and everything me to your specification. The husbend and wife teem are amazing making sure that only the best food and flawless service hits your table. This is the place where I use to judge other Italian restaurants by. It is not a pretentious place instead letting the food be the star. Don’t let the location fool you they have been in cooking up amazing food for 20 years so you know they are doing something right. Oh and you must try the boca sporka a house desert !

Went here during Mother’s Day holiday. The parking lot was kind of iffy but the food is worth it. The restarant had a nice feel to it. It wasn’t too big and wasn’t too small. They had live guitarist playing during our meal which was a nice. Their food was amazing. From their complimentary bread to each of our dishes. One of our group members also had a seafood allergy. We notified our server and had no problems with any seafood cross contamination. Which is really hard to find with a restaurant that serves many seafood dishes.

This is one of my favorite Italian restaurants in the inland empire. Great Minestrone, and the best chicken Marsala that I have had at any Italian restaurant hands down. Take it from a real italian, this place is the real deal if you don’t like the taste here go to olive garden.

Well, Service was great & atmosphere is nice, but my wife’s meal made her sick and she only had a few bites. I tasted the meat from her plate and immediately spit it on to my napkin. The taste was bad she stopped eating it and we spoke to the waitress. The plate was removed from our bill, but I’m very disappointed that not one person there apologized for the food. This was at about 6:30 this evening and my wife still doesn’t feel well. First time there and last!

Probably a 3.5, it was fairly good but I’m not sure it deserves a full 4. PARKING: It’s in a random plaza with a grocery store and adult bookstore, lol. ATMOSPHERE: Kind of reminds me of a nice sit down old school italian restaurant. Painted murals on the walls, tablecloth and cloth napkins and nice chairs. They have tables for big groups too. FOOD: They give you free bruschetta and bread. The bruschetta(4 pieces) was very fresh and good, reminded me of the trader joes bruschetta spread(which is pretty darn good) but I’m not sure if that is an insult lol The bread is a hybrid between a focaccia and french bread. Each table has an olive oil/balsamic mix that goes perfect with it. MIXEDGREENSSALAD — I liked the bell pepper that came with it and their homemade dressing was pretty tasty. FETTUCINIPRIMAVERA — I added sausage to give the dish a little more substance. They charge a $ 3 split charge fee. This dish was basically mixed veggies(broccoli, peas, carrots and green beans) with spinach fettuccine and a light olive oil/garlic/tomato sauce. It was pretty tasty, but I guess not exactly what I was expecting. I think the random veggies is what threw me off, but the pasta was fairly chewy and tasty. You could tell it was fresh. Maybe next time I’ll get a different kind of pasta. The server(s) were very nice and helpful though!

I had the pleasure of dining at Tulipano with Juliet C. a week ago and we were both pleasantly surprised that such an authentic Italian restaurant existed in the heart of Azusa! Although, the location of the restaurant was definitely questionable(its located next to a lingerie/sex shop in a sketchy plaza). We were both blown away by the delicious food and amazing service! Once seated we had complimentary fresh bread from the oven and bruschetta to start off our meals. There was also a jar of olive oil and balsamic vinegar at our table for our dipping pleasure. Since neither of us have ever been to the restaurant, our server spent a couple minutes to explain the different menu items and even introduced us to several specialty dishes that weren’t on the menu. Juliet C. ordered from the specialty items and picked the Linguini with an assortment of seafood(clams, calamari, white fish, mussels) in red sauce, and I ordered the Linguini Alle Vongole Cozze which came with clams and mussels in a white wine sauce. Both of our dishes were delicious! I happily gobbled down my entire plate within minutes! The price range of all the pasta dishes were from $ 11-$ 25 depending on the meat or variety of seafood. Portion sizes were also pretty decent and they even gave us extra bread to take home and wrapped them in adorable bird shapes with the aluminum foil! Our server was attentive throughout our meal and routinely checked up on us to refill our glasses of water and to make sure we were happy with our food. We both left extremely satisfied and yearning to come back again to try some of the other dishes!

Family friends recommended this hidden Italian gem! I came here with fellow Unilocaler and friend, Shanon Y. on a weeknight! The restaurant is located in a rather questionable and sketchy plaza, but it seems as though Tulipano’s still gets great business. It’s right next to a sex/lingerie novelty shop, haha niiice. Hmmm, I definitely think they should consider relocating to a more populated and desirable area to attract even more business. The higher rent would be worth the investment! Ok, onto the food and experience! The inside décor and furnishings aren’t all that impressive. The place could use upgrades, but then again, the place has a very cozy, family oriented, and inviting feel to it too. I felt quite comfortable. Upon being seated, you’re served a small plate of complimentary bruschetta and fresh, oven baked bread. Every table has a cruet of olive oil and balsamic vinegar, so use as much as you’d like to soak the bread in! I always look forward to the appetizing bread with olive oil & vinegar at every Italian restaurant. Our waitress was excellent throughout our entire meal. Our glasses of water were constantly filled and she checked up on us every so often to how we were doing. Very personable and sweet lady! Prior to ordering our food, we were notified that there are tons of dishes unlisted in the restaurant menus! If there’s something you want that isn’t listed in the menu, you can request the chef to customize and create that specific Italian dish just for you, and if the restaurant carries the available ingredients to concoct your specialized dish, the chef will happily make it! I was pretty impressed with that tidbit, but personally, I feel that the menu is already pretty extensive with a nice variety of awesome Italian dishes! Shanon Y. ordered the Linguini Alle Vongole Cozze($ 14.95): Thin, flat pasta with fresh clams and mussels in a red or white wine sauce. Shanon picked the white wine sauce! She seemed very happy with her dish =). I ordered one of the specials of the night which wasn’t listed in the menu: Linguini with seafood in a red sauce(about $ 23). It came with white fish, mussels, clams, calamari. The portion sizes of our entrees weren’t too big nor too small; they were just RIGHT! SO delicious! The food here really tastes homemade and it’s obvious that the restaurant uses high quality ingredients. I am eager to come back to try other menu items. A helpful note: You can order gluten free pasta in lieu of regular pasta for specific diet needs too! Although the food is great, some of their items do seem a bit overpriced! However, that will not deter me from coming back for more!
