The boat is extremely clean and well staffed. Hopped on for a half day fluke and bass trip. Surprise. It was only bass and porgies. Became a long boat ride and not even a fluke attempt. I asked about fluke before they left. Was told they caught a lot of shorts not we are not going for them.

We had a super nice afternoon trip on this boat! Super clean and the mates were so helpful. Caught about 15 fluke all short and a bunch of sea robin! I would happily come back on this boat again!

By far the best fishing boat at Captree!!! I’ve gone on several other boats at Captree, none matched the hospitality and Service they provide. The mates are very helpful and friendly. would definitely recommend.

Jib VI is by far one of the most enjoyably fishing boat trips I ever been on. Over the summer, I spent most of my fishing days on pier but with crab season in full swing, they been eating up my bait non stop on the pier so I decided one morning to hop on a boat with my father, wife, and uncle. According to their sign, they have 3 trips each day. We arrived early for the 7am departure. As we set sail, the waves and wind weren’t as crazy as I expected. I felt like I was fishing on solid ground when the captain blew the horn for us to start casting away. Jib VI takes you on fluke(summer flounder) fishing adventures. The current size restriction on flukes is 18 inch. Last year was 19. Throughout the morning, everyone caught a fair amount of flukes but just a few were keepers. The mates on Jib VI were incredibly courteous and helpful with all of your needs. The provided spearing and squid for bait. Whoever didn’t have a rod, they provide one(it’s included in your admission). I wish I knew earlier so that I didn’t have to take turns using my rod with my wife. I thought we had to rent one from the boat but as it turns out, it was all part of the package. The mate who helped us was a real kind gentleman. I never ever been on a boat with such polite fisherman staff. Absolutely a million times more nicer than all of the fishing boats that are out in Sheepshead Bay, Brooklyn. As the day winds down, you can ask the mates to fillet your fish. I got a little carried away with tossing some of the leftover bait in mid air to the trail of tail gating seagulls. We got back to the pier roughly around 12:15 pm. It was a real pleasant day of fishing and also my birthday thanks to the Captain and to his amazing and FRIENDLY crew. I emphasize on the friendliness because they were truly friendly and helpful to the max. Friendliness on a full boat of fisherman is key. I cannot stand fishing around pissy moody mean fisherman or rude and unhelpful mates. As fluke season is nearing it’s end, I’ll be sure to come back to this boat next season.
