I am actually surprised by this only having 3 stars I had a very enjoyable experience here. It’s a typical Bohlsen Resturant up scale food at an upscale price. I started with sushi, I ordered the cowboy roll. It is made with lobster and Kobe beef as a culinary student I find it hard to believe it’s real Kobe beef but I could be wrong. For my entrée I ordered the peeking duck for two it was a whole duck boned out with a plum sauce and steam buns it was great. I would defiantly come here again

This place can’t decide if it wants to be an upscale restaurant or a nightclub. Attracting a lot of riff raff. Sunday night had a guy making trouble, was escorted out, then pulled a gun. We don’t need this kind of visitors in Babylon Village.

This place is just amazing! We had reservations for 815, the night before Valentine’s Day, and unfortunately weren’t seated until around 845ish but that wasn’t a problem. My boyfriend and I grabbed a drink at the bar. The drinks were more like Manhattan prices, but they were worth it! I had a white sangria and the flavors were just perfect! He had a Long Island ice tea and he said it was one of the best he’s ever had! Once we were seated, we ordered appetizers which came out right away. We both had the New York strip steak and our steaks were phenomenal! They were cooked to perfection! The atmosphere was amazing, it wasn’t too loud and we both had the best night out! We had reservations to do dessert somewhere else, so we couldn’t try their dessert, but I know when I go back I have every intention to make sure I try something off their dessert menu!

Place looks good Good taste greater except sushi, rice not ready and not enough, the spicy tuna not spicy, it’s just tuna with some spicy mayo on top. Thanks

Place was nice. Food was good, but they take too long to serve. The place had about 10 other couples there, I would hate to be there when they’re packed. Their heat was not working. It was cold!!! They did give us a $ 25 gift card for the next time we come. Because it was cold our food got cold fast. If you’re going this valentines weekend asked if their heat is working.

A great place for date night! Prepare for a little wait on the sushi but totally worth it. More of a club/lounge atmosphere with a dj. I’ve only been here on the weekend so not sure about during the week.

Delicious food and the atmosphere and décor is very fun, chic, trendy, modern & upscale. Service was great and the food was amazing. Martinis were a bit weak for my taste but very tasty. Dinner upstairs and lounge downstairs. Loud from the dance music playing, which I loved. Definitely be back!

My friend took me out for my birthday to this restaurant and I have not had a better eperience anywhere. the atmosphere is modern, not too dark, not too bright, Because of the recent snow storm very few guests. We like sitting at the bar and that’s where we ordered, this turned out to be a lucky choice for us, as the bartender/waitress {Kayla} was easily the best server I’ve had anywhere, I’ve been to some of the finest restaurants in the world, restaurants that fill your glass every time you take a sip A server has a hard balancing act, their presence can be imposing or they can be unimposing yet perfectly attentive, Kayla managed the latter. When we needed something she instinctively took care of it without even a gesture, when we were in conversation she was only there when we needed something. She’s rare. We both had lobster with skirt steak, which was reasonably priced for a fine restaurant, the steak came exactly as ordered for both, it was tender, tasty and moist. The lobster, while small, was prepared to perfection, tasty and succulent. They surprised me with a complimentary and wonderful birthday desert for both of us in our party, staff coming over to help celebrate, The restaurant did other things for my birthday, and I’m sure it’s different all the time so I won’t elaborate as the bar seems set too high. Parking was not a problem, however this was a snow day, few customers, I don’t know if parking is an issue. Hats off to Monsoon

My wife and had early reservations on a Friday night(nearly empty restaurant), we were sat in a very crowded cluster of 3 tables for 2, the 1st couple next to us asked to be moved since we were literally elbow to elbow, in fact the bussing staff couldn’t even clear our dishes because they couldn’t squeeze between the tables. The food was over priced, over sauced, overly sweet and unimpressive. My filet mignon was way over cooked(which they replaced) and the sauce for the accompanying monkfish was clawingly sweet totally overpowering the flavor of the fish. For a steak house to over cook filet mignon is unforgivable. Dinner for 2 for $ 160 …we would have been better off at PF Changs!

1– teach your bartenders how to make a whiskey sour. I am currently drinking something that tastes of only simple syrup. NOT amused. 2– tell Dj ADHD to play a full song or at least more time of a song. And stop playing Trufflebutter every 4 songs 3– food is good and the bartenders have been good. Maybe they can’t handles Saturday’s. Overall, train your bartenders to make proper and consistent drinks. Especially on a weekend, js

Let me clarify before a few things before getting to the good stuff. Service 5⁄5 Food 3.5÷5 Atmosphere −1÷5 I would not go back to this place, but it isn’t because of the food(well the sashimi pizza was very subpar) or service. The atmosphere, or lack thereof, is the most bizarre combination of random flashing K-Pop videos, utterly stupid canvas pictures, and possibly the worst playlist of music I’ve ever heard in an «upscale» restaurant. Let’s start with the giant 40″ tv that assaulted my eyes throughout the ENTIRE dinner. It played music videos from a variety of asian artists, none of which where Chinese(I assume this is a Chinese restaurant but it’s extremely unclear). This tv was worse than a screaming baby, it’s distracting and doesn’t add to anything to the«experience.» The group behind me had theirs turned off, and for good reason. The décor and lighting is just, it’s bad. I’ve eaten at Teller’s a steakhouse that isn’t great, but hey it has an atmosphere, proper lighting and décor on the walls that add to the experience. The interior of this restaurant looks like a failed LA hipster knocked up an out-of-work NY Art Director, and they raised a child without rules or punishment and told it to be whatever it wanted. This restaurant has NOIDEA what it is, it’s just a combination of random crap somebody probably thought«looked cool.» It doesn’t look cool. It looks awful. Your restaurant isn’t the MoMA, stop trying so hard. Figure what you are, because I don’t think anyone knows what you are. Are you a club? Are you an upscale eating establishment? Stop trying to pierce every demographic because it’s sloppy and comes off as amateur. EVERY room is different and strange and doesn’t offer a welcoming vibe that makes me think«this is nice I want to be here.» It makes me ask«why?» It makes me ask«why are there couches in the dining room?» Random assortments and bright lot fixtures ISN’T chic, it isn’t anything! This place wants so desperately to be a NY club, but is just so far from the mark. Last, the music choice, was a strange combo of indie rock, 70s &80s hits, some country, and slow jazz. This group owns a lot of restaurants, I’m sure they’ve figured out by now that music sets the tone of an evening. So I’m going to chalk that up to someone hijacking the AUX cord and throwing on Pandora. I’m sorry but for the prices you’re charging, buy some decent music and set the mood. This restaurant has decent food, great service, but what I consider the most important part of dining out, the atmosphere, was, the worst, I’ve ever encountered for this price range.

I just celebrate my daughter’s 17th birthday with 11 of her friends. We loved the atmosphere and the waiters were friendly too. It looked like something you would see in the city instead of Long Island. We ate upstairs away from the bar area and we enjoyed it. i was so glad that we went before 7pm so that our meal was more affordable from the Sunset Menu. I enjoyed the sea bass it was very tender. We went on a friday night and thought the day and time was great for the kids. My overall experience was a B+

Wow, what a disappointment. We knew this was a pricey place and expected it to be more like Tellers or Prime(part of the same chain). The décor was certainly on point but that was the only thing. We were greeted by the other two couples who were also waiting to be seated. The bartender finally called someone then seated one couple himself before the NEW general manager seated us. He has his work cut out for him. The waitress was handling three tables –including us– and couldn’t keep up. Or I should say, didn’t feel she needed to, that’s how it felt. When you need to flag down the bus boy to get your server to get a refill… The food was over-spiced, over-priced(for the small portions) and poorly plated. Had to hunt the waitress down again for the check. Sorry I suggested the place.

Service was lousy, Food was lousy and very over priced for garbage. First let me start with it should not take 15 minutes for a drink order to come to your table. Now let’s talk about the lack of proper service… When you order appetizers for a table and people have to share, you should not have to wait 5 minutes to find someone to ask for serving utensils and then wait another 10 minutes for them to bring them to your table. Next when someone orders a steak medium rare and requests a steak sauce, the steak should not come to the table medium well and then have to try and find your server for another 10 minutes to not only try and get a NONDRIEDOUT filet mignon but one that is actually cooked medium rare. Then add insult to injury told that they do not carry a basic steak sauce! That ended my meal. As for another dish that was ordered. If you order a dish for 2, does anyone think that there should be servicing utensils so that you can take make your peaking duck patties without using your fingers? Go find the wait staff and explain it to them. By the way the Maitre D had no clue either that something was wrong when he came over. Besides from my steak being dried, overcooked and totally tasteless,(which I sent back), The peaking duck was totally overcooked, dried and pasty. What a rotten experience. I have eaten at some of the other restaurants owned by this firm and was never disappointed. There was no apology, they did not do anything to try and correct it or to even try correct the event. I sat there and watched as the other 3 people at my table ate, with the 2 that ordered the peeking duck for 2 just nibble on their food. Is it possible to give a negative 5 stars? negative 10 stars? This place should only be a bar and not try to pass themselves off as an upscaled restaurant. I would not only never go back there, I would go out of my way to make sure that none of the people I know every step foot in this place. Unless of course you enjoy throwing your money away with lousy service and worse food.

Always wanted to try this place. Really cool building inside and out. Inside reminds me of upscale NYC lounge. Really liked the set up and look inside. It’s very different from most places in Long Island. I expected it to be crowded for weekday happy hour, but it was just me and another couple on far end of bar. Maybe it gets busier later in evening. Mike the bartender made my extra dry grey goose martini just right. Also recommend the pork fried rice. He said it was best pork fried around. He was right!

Definitely on the fence– the place is cool looking, sets the right mood, the sushi roll I had was good but the steamed bun was awful– the server was nice I guess but creeped us out a bit… Way overpriced so I gotta say I’m not such a fan of this place. Been here 2 or 3 times and I just don’t see the draw, the menu is exciting enough I suppose but I’ve never had top notch service and for the price you could get the same quality and more quantity… Almost anywhere else. Meh.

Not usually a fan of Babylon nightlife.(seems very corny to me – lack of diversity, weird distribution of older couples vs sprinkle of young adults who are not single). But I was willing to give this spot a chance last Saturday. –Glad I did, 2 stars goes to the DJ(Wish I knew his name but he was seriously on point). He strayed away from the current top 40 hits and gave us some good throwback popular hip hop joints that had everyone rapping along and bopping their heads.(He apparently is there every other weekend I believe so if he’s on you might be in luck) –The last one star goes to the atmosphere/décor/space. The layout of the place is very Manhattan-chic, drinks prices matched the vibe(unfortunately), but the drinks were actually strong, and staff overall seemed nice. –Lost one star due to this new bartender who says«this is my 2nd night on so bear with me». I’m all cool with new bartenders and such(hey we’re all new at some point at a job) BUT to be dancing and not paying attention to patrons at the bar? Not cool – took 20 mins for us to flag her down from her«private club session» to close down our tab. –Other lost star. the crowd was just«wack»(sorry the terminology matched the 90’s music he was playing), barely anyone danced even while the music was clearly getting everyone hyped up. Plus this place died down at 1am?! I probably won’t be back(because, again once you’re used to the city night life, Babylon is a joke), but it was good to know that I can actually have a decent night out here – thanks to this DJ.

I’ve come here several times, and I really enjoy my time here each time I visit. Monsoon is a rather upscale establishment with absolutely GORGEOUS décor. I would never dare step into this place without doing my makeup and wearing my nicest heels! It definitely encompasses the«guido» looking crowd that Long Island is somewhat famous for having. The crowd is as good looking as the décor! The ambiance is very modern/chic, almost a Manhattan feel and carries a strong intimate, lounge type of feel that you find in the city. The drinks here are exceptional, and I have never gotten a drink I didn’t like. My favorites include the cherry blossom(hidden menu), Babylon express, and vanilla chai. All are so so so good! EXCELLENT selection of drinks, ones you probably would not find in most other bars. The only food I’ve ever had here were the skirt steak skewers which were tender, juicy and full of flavor. I would feel confident ordering most food here after having tasted this. This place is great for a ladies night, date night, or fun night out with friends! Be prepared to look your best! I am deducting one star for an experience I had last year. My cousins who came from out of town asked about getting a few bottles and setting up a small table for bottle service. The wait staff/bartenders gave us a hard time for about 45 minutes scrambling to set up a small table and a few bottles of champagne. There were maybe 12 other people in the bar besides us, so they were not super busy. Also, as upscale and high priced a place as they are, why is bottle service, even a small one, a foreign concept to Monsoon? Also, on the same night my friend asked for her beer to be kept in the bottle and not poured into a glass. The bartender refused to do this. Literally REFUSED. Strange. Overall, I really do enjoy coming to this place when I feel like being in a lounge and getting dressed up with my girls or my man!

Owned by the Bohlsen Restaurant Group, one can expect higher prices here. It is a trendy Asian fusion lounge on the inside of a remodeled historic bank. Mod design with strange video clips playing on a projection screen. The drinks are great — cocktails that are hard to come by in Babylon, such as those made with cucumber vodka or housemade chai syrup, but very expensive unless you are there for happy hour. The food is good — the cowboy roll is tasty, and the kung pao monkfish is one of my favorite things ever, but it is all very overpriced. They have prix fixed menus which I would suggest planning for to try things at a decent price. Oh, and they give you fortune cookies at the end with hilariously inappropriate fortunes and sayings. My most important tip — stay away from the pad thai. It was the only thing I have ever sent back at a restaurant in my entire life. It smelled like wet dog and tasted nothing like any pad thai I’ve ever eaten.
