First of all Synergy is becoming another gym (Boom Fitness) which I was not notified, but found out when I went to cancel my membership. New maintenance fee will be $ 69 a year. I’m sure they won’t be informing anyone of the automatic increase in price. On multiple occasions Instructors are either very late or don’t show up for classes. Unsanitary-​Good luck finding paper towels or cleaning supplies to wipe down machines. Unprofessional staff & broken equipment.
Canceling membership is a shady ordeal. You cannot call, email, or speak to owner/​manager directly… everything is done through a 3^rd party collections agency. I had to send a certified letter to this company then I got back a bill saying I owe for the following month even though I was paid in full we’ll before the due date of the next payment.

6 STARS will be the talk of this gym over the next several months. This gym will transform like a Caterpillar to a beautiful butterfly and the name will be Retro Fitness. All new Cardio equipment with 17inch TV’s attached, New Strength equipment, Full service smoothie bar and more!

I love this gym! Soon they will change their name to Boom Fitness in Winter of 2013. They have four cardio machines to work out with — the eliptical, the treadmill, bicycles (both recumbant and regular), and stair masters. They offer a variety of classes every day, they have a steam room, a sauna, showers and plenty of weight machines. They are also very cheap right now, they charge a $ 50 enrollment fee, $ 20 a month after that, and a $ 50 fee in April for yearly maintenance (this maintenance fee also locks your rate in). I’ve been a member since December 12 (I recently joined) and I have loved every visit. I also had a free session with a personal trainer which was included with my enrollment, it was the hardest best work out I ever had and now I know how to use more of the equipment to take advantage of my membership. They also have a daycare center so if you are babysitting or have your own kids you can drop them off at the on premises daycare while you work out. Great gym, I’m very impressed.

I would be very wary of this place. I’ll give you a little background. It opened about 6 or 7 years ago and everything was real nice. They had people constantly going around cleaning the place and things were good. The problem was they were charging 50 bucks a month which is a very high price for the area and for what you got in the gym (no pool etc). The place was empty and rumors were swirling that it wasn’t going to make it. They reduced the membership to 20 a month with an enrollment fee and things started to pick up. The gym was then sold to a new guy and he is one of the cheapest owners I have ever encountered. Here are a few examples:
1) When you ask him for a copy of the exercise schedule he replies that his printer is broken and you can look it up online. He has been saying this for over a year. Cmon dude… paper isn’t that expensive
2) The child care place can be have a million kids in it to only one adult. The lady who runs it often stands in the door way and talks to men. She is often on her cell phone in the doorway, not paying attention or interacting with any of the kids
3) The urinal in the mens room has been taped up for at least 6 months… maybe more. One of the sinks has been non functional for over a year.
4) The dumbells or often very loose and the labels with the actual weight are gone. You are left sitting trying to figure out what the actual weight of the dumbell is.
5) After realizing the 60 pound dumbells were missing for over 2 weeks I approached the front desk and inquired. Behind the front desk were the dumbells in pieces. The guy working told me they were going to fix them. Yeah right
6) Their are many holes and divets in the flooring that have not been repaired
The bottom line is as this gym starts to age it will only get worse. And as things get worse I can guarantee they will not be repaired. Stay away
