I wasn’t supposed to be in Bad Axe in the first place, though I enjoyed seeing it. I hadn’t bothered with a map of Michigan yet since my phone has the internet and GPS, plus Unilocal maps. But I lost service up in Port Austin and even between towns before that and decided I’d better have a «hard copy» of where I was going just in case. I was tickled pink when I saw there was a AAA Office very near to my motel. In the morning I swung in here, showed them my card, and got a map of Michigan, one of just the thumb, and one other so I could get an overview of where I had been and where I was going. Then I headed back up to where I lost my way, about 15 miles is all, and proceeded on the route around the thumb en route to Pinconning. I highly recommend being a AAA member to anyone for a variety of reasons. Free maps anywhere you go is just one of them.
