If you plan on going fishing for crappie at Little River Lake, come here to get live minnows. It’s 5 minutes away from the lake and the people here are very kind. There is an old man who works here in the morning until 2pm and who is supposed to be very kind (according to friends). I’ve only been here once, at around 3pm and a nice woman helped me out.
However, I don’t think I’ll come back since I had a horrible experience at the Little River Lake Boat rental place operated by Durham County. You can find and read more about my experience.
I will note, however, that some Southern bikers/​men stared at me when I walked in (I’m a minority). If you’re from the Duke area, just be prepared for this type of treatment.
