Hello. This restaurant is currently being revamped and is under ownership and under new management. I am one of the partners involved in this process. I am asking for the people of colorado to please come by and give us another opportunity to change your mind about the Coney Island. Our grand opening is slated for some time in March and i will be posting when it will reopen. We have a lot of new changes implement9ed to combat the lines and wait time. The menu will have a few changes but the originals will still be available. We will also be accepting credit cards and we will be keeping the restaurant open year round. So check back for thr opening date and we hope to see you up in Bailey at the hot dog.

We were there & it’s closed … It’s for sale. We were really looking forward to a Coney Island foot long! Darn it.

Sadly this rating isn’t for the food which i didn’t get to try because … cash only. Not 100% all the time cash only, but sometimes cash only as far as we could tell. Not a short drive just to turn around. It’s 2015, it’s not cute or kitschy to be cash only. If I have cel signal, then you can take credit cards.

Straight up disgusting. You’ll wait in line forever, pay 3x more than you should, question health codes, and be disappointed after your first bite. Don’t bother.

I have wanted to try this place for years… today was going to be my day! This maybe the worst hot dog I have ever had in my life. I got the Texas Dog! Please for the sake of Texas remove that name! Canned chili, canned cheese, cold dog(it’s called a HOT dog). The fries… awful! $ 9.75 that I hope I don’t see again! It’s almost like they tried to make the meal terrible… why? Baseball, hot dogs and apple pie… I feel like I am only 2⁄3 an American after eating that«food». I’m posting this because I don’t want anyone to be disappointed like I was.

Today we decided to give the hot dog place a second try. The last time we visited was about 7 years ago. Back then we were not happy with the service or the food. But today, today was much better. We got lucky and were the first people inline. We ordered 3 hot dogs, all with different toppings and 3 fountain drinks. Total was just under $ 20. I was a bit nervous to taste the hot dog, to be honest. The first bite was better than I was expecting. It was a tasty dog. It was like the kind you get at a hot dog cart in the city. I had cheese on mine(it was nacho cheese) I would have preferred just shredded or a good slice of a quality cheese melted. But it was still pretty good! The other two people in my group enjoyed their dogs too. We opted not to have anything fried, such as onion rings or french fries. The fryer oil smelled so old and burnt. We figured we made the right choice. I would love to see this place get a little face lift inside, and some organizing. It’s still fun and unique and I would recommend it if passing by.

I remember loving this place years ago when it was in conifer I believe. We’ve stopped there twice in the past couple years and have decided to write this place off. Super slow service, the place looks kind of dirty, and the food just doesn’t look appetizing. We purchased shakes, they were good if you like drinking chocolate milk. They just weren’t frozen enough and were runny. I would not recommend.

This is the 6th time I’ve gone to Coney Island and this is the first time I’ve actually been able to order food due to the insane wait and terrible service. Needless to say the place is disgusting and the food isn’t too far from that. Never seen food handled like that before without utensils. This place should never pass a health food inspection. Being that they call it Coney Island they sure don’t know how to cook a hotdog to save their lives. They cook hot dogs on rollers you find at 7-Eleven or at a gas station when they have a perfectly good griddle. I hear the place used to be good. Unfortunately that time has passed. Keep driving!

30′ wait when you are 2nd in line. Watched 3 people get the wrong order. 10 year old at the register. One over-worked line cook. Average food at the best. Don’t go!

Not what it used to be. Hotdogs weren’t bad but nothing special either. I could have made better dogs at home. Wait was just too long for how lame the dogs were. Almost 30 mins for 3 dogs and an order of fries! Fries were soggy and greasy, they didn’t have any chili ready for the Texas dog which is one of the 3 dogs they sell! Place is run down and I’d be surprised if it stays in business for much longer. A shame too, used to be a cool spot to stop by on your way back to Denver. Now it’s just something cool to point out to your kids. «Look! A giant hotdog!»

Cute charming giant hotdog building —-That’s the end of the good. Terrible hot dog and corn dog, they literally came out of a frozen package. The fries were even worse! Soggy and unseasoned, my dog wouldn’t even eat one. The milk shake was actually decent, but not worth the 45 min wait.

This place has gone down hill BIG time. I arrived around 1PM on a Thursday, there were only two people in front of me ordering, but it still took about a half hour to get food. This was likely because there was only one person working the register and cooking the food. Fries and O-Rings came out under cooked and soggy. Dog and polish were nothing to write home about either. The pictures of the menu is no longer accurate. There are no exotic meat dogs, no more chicken sandwiches. Your options are now only burger, dog, jumbo dog, and polish. This used to be a regular stop for me anytime I was driving 285; no longer.

We arrived about 11am and the place was shut. We thought it had closed down till we saw people inside. The opened up around 11.15 am and one guy started taking orders while the other was ding a bad job of filling the bays. The guy cooking had to keep running out the back for things. We didn’t have cash and apparently the Credit Card Machine was broken so we went to Bailey and got cash out. We ordered a hotdog each with different topping, they had them categorized so the Chicago had these ingredients and the American had whatever it had, there was 4 different types of toppings. We also got onion rings. That was a mistake. We saw them go in the deep fryer, and they came out soggy and horrible. The hot dogs were alright, tasted fine, mine had way too may Peperoncino’s, the bun just split and it was a bit of a mess.

6÷17÷1512pm. Customers standing around inside and outside in line. No one is working… Where are the employees??? Stood around for 15mins, people started leaving. Place looked dirty inside and unkept. The hotdogs and whatever were just rolling around on a warmer like a gas station. What the hell happened to this place??? This landmark needs saved!!!

Waited an hour for two dogs that were not worth the wait. I only waited because I was literally out for a drive and nothing to do. Line out the door and they were cooking about 5 dogs at a time. It survives as a business because there’s nothing nearby and the river. It would have been faster to drive back into Denver. Sorry. Wanted to love it.

While driving from Breck to Morrison, we stopped here. This is a cute hot dog stand, but the quality is awful. The wait for a bad hot dog was a half hour when we were there at 11AM.(When I mean bad, both Costco and Sam’s Club serve MUCH better hot dogs for a third of the price.) It isn’t that there were so many people in line and that’s why we had to wait a long time, it was just that the food took a very long time. There was one person taking orders and money and one person«cooking». I wanted to like it, but couldn’t find anything to like other than the view from the parking lot.

Have driven by this place countless times and decided to finally give it a try. Wish I would’ve read the reviews first. Over an hour wait to get two hot dogs, which were undercooked and didn’t have all the requested toppings. It’s too bad there isn’t a negative rating option.

This cute little roadside hot dog in the mountains is the worst restaurant probably in the entire world. They do not take cards, and a burned hot dog is about $ 4 and it will take you an hour to get it. An employee thankfully microwaved the hot dog chili in a drink cup at the request of another customer that wasn’t interested in cold chili. To get some work out of the way, they fried all the fries yesterday or something, instead of constantly frying fries and keeping hot dogs on the griddle. Someone please take this out of the hands of current owners!

Its a giant hot dog on the side of the road. how could I not stop! I actually have driven by this place a bunch of times and never stopped. always said I need to. Finally tried it out. I really enjoyed its corny-ness. I got a traditional coney dog. it was pretty cheap and really hit the spot after a long day of driving back from Durango. Also split some fries and onion rings with my friends. Pretty decent(but not amazing) stuff. The location is good. there really isnt anything that close unless you wait on the drive for a bit. Plus nothing else in that wait is shaped like a giant hot dog :) the service was also very nice too and it wasnt busy when we went on Memorial day evening.
