Bene Pizza

Awesome! Crazy busy place & the service was great. Loved the combo Fungi/​Pear Gorgonzola pizza! Also enjoyed Caesar salad, Tiramisu & chocolate gelato. The menu is full of great vege options, a real plus for me. New favorite place!

This place is so good I just had to leave a review. We just moved here from the SF Bay Area and we love Cheeseboard Pizza in Berkeley. This is as good but offers way more options. Perfect crunchy but chewy crust with the right balance of toppings. We’ve tried several pizzas and each one seems better than the last. Love the Greek, Funghi, House special and Fennel Sausage. The ingredients are very fresh and carefully chosen to balance each other perfectly. The salad with sour cherries is also excellent. I want to try other salads but I keep going back to that one. The bartender is very personable and makes a great cocktail. The ambiance is great but the space is small. We’re hoping they stay on the island and expand. We’re retiring here and my husband plans to eat here at least once a week!

Great experience food and service! We had to admit it was impressive to see the staff keep up with the demand of this small but extremely busy locale. We had the kale salad and wow fresh local organic GMO free produce! Asparagus wrapped in Prosciutto was crisp and delicious as advertised and the House Pie… No words fot this pie by far the best combination of spice and cream, wish we had ordered one more to go!
Also great Whiskey selection and ask about the Bourbon Flight!

To think of Bene as a pizzeria is to overlook it’s many attributes. It is a pizza restaurant with absolutely fabulous pizza, excellent salads and small plates, and the most extensive cocktail bar that I have ever seen outside of a major city. The drink menu features over 500 different liquors! The ambiance is attractive and cozy. It’s tucked out of the way, but the Islanders have discovered it and I’m glad I have too.

Let me start with the highlights. The pizza and appetizer we had were stellar. We had the Greek pizza and prosciutto asparagus and they both were amazing.
We also ordered the cherry salad. It was «ok». It lacked dressing which I feel impeded its full potential.
The service was average at best. We went on a Saturday night and it appeared that they were overwhelmed with the amount of customers. Our server was pleasant but appeared a bit lost with our food, refilling our water, etc. It was almost like they forgot we were there even though they walked right by us to serve everyone else. It took over an hour to get our food. Our friends missed their ferry because we there a long time, not by choice.
Which brings me to the final point. Buried deep in the menu in small print it states that parties of 4 or larger will pay a mandatory tip of 18%. Apparently that is considered a large group in this restaurant. It was frustrating to get good food with less than average service and then pay extra for it in a predetermined tip with no recourse. If we go back, I’ll probably order my pizza to go and skip the rest.

The funghi pizza was without reservation well worth the wait. Plus if you sit at the bar of this very cozy, aka small space, you might even be privy to samples of bartender’s expertise. Moscow Mule highly recommendable! Add a friendly staff, and it makes for a fun night out.

I’m a bit of a pizza snob and this place blew me away. Try the house pie. Salads are excellent as well. Highly recommended. Better than anything I’ve had in the Seattle area.

The pear salad was amazing as was the fennel pizza. Mark, the mixologist was so helpful. A hidden gem. My wife and I had a great experience. Will come again.

Can’t believe this was our first time at this little gem. Delicious Caesar with homemade dressing and best pizza on Bainbridge. Warm ambiance and friendly service. Charming hole in the wall.

A hidden gem. Seriously good pizza and amazing cocktails in a tiny restaurant tucked away in an office park just steps from a pet shop and credit union, and not 50 yards from Highway 305. Facing a long queue for the ferry? Heck, turn in here and enjoy the best pizza on Bainbridge. And the cocktails: wow. This guy knows what he’s doing. (First sign: real ice in the drink, not party ice. I’m impressed.) Sure, it’s a little pricey but the quality is first-​rate — my mushroom and prosciutto pizza was superb. We’ll be back, often.

We are East Coast transplants. By far the best pizza we have had in the northwest! Tasty drinks too. Very friendly staff and warm cozy atmosphere. Definitely check it out.

Tasty thin crust pizza with fresh ingredients. Cozy place to dine indoor or outdoor. Save room for salad. We had arugula with tasty dressing. Good selection of house cocktails and beer.

This was our first meal on a week long vacation on Bainbridge. Best. Crust. Ever. Enjoyed the Gorganzola Pear pizza and Pepperoni pizza and best tiramisu ever. Usually, it’s too soggy at other places, really done well here. Also, craft cocktails are amazing! I had the Flight. Great meal, wonderful service!

Great little pizza spot. We were in town visiting family and the atmosphere was a perfect and intimate experience for all of us. Also, the food is FANTASTIC. We had a wide spread of appetizers and pizza and were even able to bring our own bottle of wine in to enjoy. But don’t worry they have own great selection of adult beverages. Great place for date night!

Haven’t had a decent pizza since I left the island a year and a half ago! Excited to visit and mow down some of that delicious crust with goat cheese and bacon and organic veggies. Oh… Don’t forget a Moscow mule in a traditional copper mug. See you guys soon!

I accidentally checked into the wrong business. I have never been to this location but have seen great reviews and will attend at a later time. I apologize to the business and owner for such a mishap. Thank you for understanding.

This place was phenomenal. The Brussel sprouts were to die for and the dessert was spectacular. Amazing from beginning to end. Carmen our hostess/​bar tender/​waitress was so attentive and talented. Definitely returning ASAP.

Located a few miles away from the port. Next to a shopping strip mall. Hours are convenient to enjoy a meal as most other places on the island close early like by 8. Inconvenient hours for the casual late diner tourist that I was when visiting. Shop is small but can still seat about 20 patrons.
We came within an hour of closing and made our order for pizza, appetizer and drinks quick. The staff was polite while articulating the menu and response to any questions. The drinks were a fair balance of sweet to stiff. The food order came in an efficient manner (hot and bursting with fresh local ingredients).
Good: friendly and helpful service. Tasty fresh pizza. Decent priced food and drinks. Open later than surrounding businesses.
Bad: Parking could get busy.
Overall, no complains. Service and attention to quality for the price was received well. I will return to try other menu items. Five stars.

Unique setup with character and charm. This small place is all about the locals and feels like you are in the owner operator’s extended dining room. Very friendly and kind service. Pizzas are great with lotsa cheese. They have knowledge and passion for the cocktails and it shows with a cool and rotating custom drink menu.
Hard to get a table, it’s so small, but be patient and make friends with your server (or the owner) and you will be rewarded with a warm spirit and cozy belly.
