Eagle Harbor Carpet Cleaning Specialists

Dealing with Lee at Eagle Harbor Carpet was not worth the headache.
We met at the rental I was in and he took a sample of the carpet I needed him to patch. The plan was to remove a section from the closet to make the patch and then repair the closet with another piece of carpet that he would provide. He said that he would match it the best he could and took a sample of the carpet with him.
When I called him the day before he was to do the job, he barely remembered the carpet and had not looked for a matching carpet piece yet. I told him the carpet was a dark brown and he said he would look for the darkest brown he could find and let me know when he was done.
He called the next day and said the job was done and looked really good, (we had already moved out) When we did the walk through with the landlord they were very unhappy with the patch in the closet because it was a light tan and not a dark brown like he said he would find.
When I called Lee to talk about this, he said it was all he had in the his garage and that I didn’t pay him enough (I paid his quoted price) to «go and find a better matching remnant» and that «it’s just a closet.» He quickly got a bad attitude and became very defensive.
I am now out the $ 180 I paid him and most likely my deposit because the landlord will have to have the carpet replaced or repaired by someone else.
I wish Lee would have told me when he arrived that the carpet he had was not going to be even be close and then together we could have figured something out. Possibly would have paid more or would have canceled the job. Ugh!
The kicker of the whole thing is that the hole that he patched in the first place looks pretty good, but the closet where he took the carpet from and his attitude is why I would never recommend him to anyone.
