I’m a sucker for stationery stores, so I visit this store at least once a year(we always go to Bainbridge on my birthday. It’s our family tradition). So I was very surprised when I visited here this past week and was unsure if I was in the same place. The store looked totally different. The staff were friendly as usual, and I inquired with a salesman on the floor if this was the same store that had always been in this location. Indeed it was. They remodelled a while back, moved the cash/counter to the rear of the store, pulled up the carpet and laid down hardwoods, and the overall effect was startling. The store looks brighter, and WAY more open. It used to look more cluttered, with displays, but the shelves are now moved to the sides. I’m a bit torn on the overall effect. It is definately brighter, but it really appears as though they now stock a fraction of what they used to. It doesn’t seem as chock-full of merchandise anymore. It seems more bare-bones. They still have great greeting cards and art supplies. Not as many cards as they used to, but still have the artist-specific art supplies that I used to search high and low for elsewhere, for my kids’ back-to-school supplies(do you have any idea how incredibly specific these school supply lists are nowadays? LOL. I’ve always had great luck here, finding whatever was needed for them). There still are party supplies and some kids’ toys(but again, not as many as they used to have). The prices of the art supplies are a tad on the high side but, again, you’ll find things here that are hard to find elsewhere. We got an ice cold can of Diet Coke for a buck here(a great deal, and much needed, on a hot day!). So be advised this is a great place to get a soda(who knew?!). And the staff were as pleasant as I recall.

Is it just me or is it hard to find streamers… especially in pink? After looking around the Dollar Trees and Party supply stores in Seattle, my bf suggested to check this place out the next time we were in BI. I walk around Winslow pretty often and this place is easy to walk by and miss. Surprisingly enough, they had streamers in a wide variety of colors, including pink. They also had a nice selection of party supplies such as those tissue balls you hang(refer to various pinterest wedding boards), straws, plates, utensils, gift wrap and cards. Aside from that, they do carry art supplies. Good to know if I randomly feel like painting while visiting the island.

This place has been there forever, and for a reason. They have great selection of paper products, especially if you are an office supply crazy like me. I used to go here every summer before the start of school for new school supplies, and it could not have been more exciting. Still love to shop here, even without school to go back to.

Very friendly and helpful staff. They have great back to school sale on now. I got some awesome gold and silver acrylic paints last week while visiting Seattle.

As a local business I want to support other local businesses. I stopped in and asked if they offered services for businesses and was pleased to find out they offer commercial sales. Now I can shop local and do it online from the ease of my office. Perfect!

I’ve been coming here for 16 years. It hasn’t changed much even with ownership changes. It’s still the place to go when you need a card, pencil, pen, calendar, manila envelope, or a couple of copies. The staff has always been friendly to me and I like browsing there. I’m kind of a ball point pen nut, and they have a great selection. They even have the high-falutin’ Cross pens. And they sell Filofaxes too. It’s a fan favorite!

I stopped in here for a few moments on my way back to the ferry terminal because I saw a USPS card in their window. Realizing that I needed to pick up some postcard stamps so that I could send out my postcards, I popped in and managed to purchase my stamps without getting too distracted by all their products. As much as I wanted to stay and explore some more, I had a ferry to catch so off I went! 4 stars for being so friendly even though I was only buying three stamps and for having a box for donations to the local animal shelter.

Stop! Thief! Paper Products is an old fashioned office supply store that also carries a large selection of greeting cards, party and scrapbook supplies. I love that I can buy things like clips and manilla envelopes by the piece. Yes! One. at. a. time. For some inexplicable reason, this makes me very happy. When a holiday rolls around, stop in here for fun, affordable small gifts for co-workers, your favorite grocery clerk or ferry worker. One of my favorite items are soap flakes in holiday shapes: small plastic boxes filled with chrismas trees, hearts, jack-o-lanterns, etc. We find fun in small things here on Whitebread Island — it’s sleepy and quiet. We like it that way, but sometimes we need to stir up a little excitement. Last month while I was buying my green christmas tree soap flakes, they disappeared from the counter. Where were they? That was the last box of green ones! I don’t want red ones! Green christmas tree soap flakes sprinkled over the shower curtain onto the huzbeau on Chrsitmas morning is a tradition! The counter guy doesn’t know where they went, they aren’t on the floor or under the counter. We ask the folks around us and the lady in line behind me says, «Oh, here they are!» She pulls MY green christmas tree soap flakes out of her pocket and puts them on the counter. Me and the counter guy stare at her increduously, and then at each other: The lady is a thief! «They are so cute!» says the thief lady, as she pokes them with her finger. «Okay», says the counter guy, «Anything else»? «Uh, nuh, uh… no, I guess not», I say. That was it. I saw the same lady at a different shop down the street a few minutes later and when our eyes met, she took something out of her pocket and put it back on the shelf and shrugged, «It gets boring around here». Tell me about it lady, good times at my house is me throwing christmas tree soap flakes at my naked husband.
