Great new addition to town! With places like the race cart track closed and pump it up closed, it is tough to find entertainment in town beyond bowling and movies. Notes from experience: Facility is spot on! Very upscale and professional look. Staff is awesome, as they are almost just as excited to have you there as you are to be there. Really adds to the mood. I have done a number of escape rooms and I can definitely say room décor is great, game flow is flawless, and the missions are fun. Overall, I think this place is just what Bakersfield needed, not to mention it is now one of my favorite escape room locations. Recommend for all to try! Can’t wait for them to get their new game Crimson Storm.

We had three couples and we all had a blast and can’t wait to do the other room or the new one in March. We didn’t solve it, we got really close but it was still so much fun. It was fun to keep talking about after too.

This is a very professional company with top notch staff, desk/lobby, and office building with ample parking. They have their marketing materials and website on point. As a matter of fact it feels a little franchised and doesn’t have the heart and passion that many of the smaller family run companies have. The room décor is minimal. It is themed, but it feels a bit like they decided to theme the rooms around something that would fit into an office space as to make the space work with the story. We played both the Winter Fall & Rescue. Neither is really about escaping the room, either. Winter Fall is significantly easier and it’s a smaller space. However it is way less logical than Rescue. There were logic jumps my husband made to solve puzzles that I still don’t understand. I was much better at finding things this time around. They had one interesting puzzle that I liked, but the rest were lacking creativity. We escaped with time to spare. Rescue is larger and more difficult. However we got through the first part of the game very quickly and got terribly stuck on one puzzle. I literally asked for a hint to no avail. We got frustrated and kind of gave up. Then we finally got a hint and it wasn’t helpful. Afterward we spoke to the game master and I told her something else would have been more helpful and she said she couldn’t give us a hint like that. It felt like they didn’t really want people to get out of that room. Apparently nobody has. Now I don’t want you to think that I’m giving a lower score because we didn’t get out. We don’t get out of a lot of games and still enjoy them. I was frustrated because I think there is a major flaw in a game if you can’t give a hint when someone asks for one after spending at least 10 minutes on the same frustrating puzzle and NOONE has escaped. We’ve played over 70 games nationwide and we didn’t escape one of my all time favorite games in Baton Rouge. This location just has some issues with their puzzles in my opinion. I also think they could be more creative overall and also be careful not to have similar puzzles between games. Go give them a try, but don’t base your opinion of the escape room industry on any one business.

This was or first time trying something like this and it was a great experience. We tried the hardest story and came very close. I don’t want to give any details away but be ready to solve puzzles. Definitely recommend.

We had a really good time, escape rooms are a blast. The staff are great, very friendly and fun. I have done some other escape rooms, with this one the only thing I didn’t like was it lacked a flow to the room and to the puzzles. It had too possibilities with a few of the«puzzles», making it difficult to be successful. That’s about the only way I can say it without spilling any beans… Altogether it was fun and I would like to try the other room. I’d recommend this to friends and family.

I have not yet gone to other escape rooms in different cities but all I can say is I am obsessed with this concept. I did both rooms in a week. Successes with Winterfall and failure with Rescue. But both times I was satisfied and can’t wait for the new room to open up.

My boyfriend and I were super excited to find out a place like this had finally come to Bakersfield and HAD to try it out ourselves. We booked for 3 people(our 4th couldn’t make it) for the R.E.S.C.U.E. challenge the next day(11.15.15). I personally had a bit of trouble finding the location, which ended up being near the Big Ol’ Tires parking lot towards the back, southeast corner– no biggie. We were greeted by everyone at the front desk and was given a quick rundown of the rules, tips, and the setting. Tip: No, you do not need to bring anything besides what the employees give you! It was our first time trying something like this, but we were pleasantly surprised by the whole set-up. Without delving too much into the whole process, and accidentally give too much info, all I’m going to say is try it out yourself! Bring your family and friends, and you’ll find out that each person will see/think differently to help give another perspective to make your way through all the puzzles and etc. Oh, and don’t worry you’re not truly locked in the room as explained on their website and in more detail in-person. Also the puzzles and etc. are not too overwhelmingly difficult to cause too much frustration, in my opinion. Just make sure you keep an open mind! You can bring up to 6 people or else risk the chance of randoms joining your party– but who really thinks that’s a bad thing? My only complaint is the pricey fee per person for the hour of fun. Anyways, expect a quick photoshoot with your group at the end, to show off whether you all managed to beat the challenge or not(we were so close!), and you’ll soon see it posted on their Facebook page! Tl;dr: This place is worth trying out for some great brain-exercising fun for everyone, but watch out for the somewhat pricey fee per person if you’re on a tight budget! And don’t forget to check out their website for more info and the challenge descriptions!

My family and I got to be apart of the pre testing for Bakersfield Escape Room. Between the 5 of us we were able to be split into 3 different time slots so we had 3 experiences to share. Now on to the review. Bakersfield Escape room is clean family fun. We all had an enjoyable time. I went with my 13 year old daughter while my wife took my 10 year old son. My 14 year old went with her friends family. We all loved it. Its challenging but not so much it frustrates you. It really puts your thinking skills to the test. It teaches you to communicate. Its like a super advanced version of the board game clue. I cant go into to much detail because I dont want to spoil it. Why 3 stars thenyou ask? 2 reasons. #1: the price. $ 28 is steep for an hour of entertainment in Bakersfield imo. Times that by 5 to take my whole family. No thanks. #2: my daughter and I were in a room with a group of four elderly strangers and felt pushed to the side at times. This is tolerable if I werent breaking my bank. And the only way to get into a room by yourself is to buy all the slots to the room. So around $ 200 for an hour. I can think of alot of other things to do for that price. All in all, if you are on a date and have some cash to blow give it a try. But make sure the stranger next to you isnt trying to grab your girls butt when your focusing on that combo lock to the briefcase ;)
