This was my first salon Brazilian wax (I had tried it by myself & with friends at home and it never turned out well). I was very pleased with the whole experience, minus the unavoidable pain of waxing. The staff was friendly, the salon seemed very sanitary, and Ofelia is very knowledgeable about what she is doing.
I called the number on Unilocal,and requested the next opening. I was hoping for something in the next day or two, but Janelle didn’t have an opening for about 10 days. She suggested I call her mother, Ofelia (the 805 number on the website), and she booked me for that afternoon!
As I said, the salon staff were very courteous when they checked me in and offered me a drink (I took bottled water). Ofelia walked me to her room in the back of the salon (there were a ton of different people in there for hair & nails). She talked me through the procedure, put down a paper on the bench and new gloves, and then put oil on my skin to prep it for waxing. Not that I know much about it, but the wax she used was a dark bluish-​purple. She did the «pressing» technique on the spots that she waxed to help with the pain. There were only three spots that REALLY hurt, and she warned me about them as she put the wax on. Everything else just felt like taking scotch tape off your skin. She also chatted with me warmly throughout the appointment to distract me from the pain, and she joked a bit too which I liked (no need to be so serious). I also asked to her to do my belly, which again wasn’t painful at all. At the end she put a lotion on my skin and gave me some post waxing instructions, three cards to share with friends, and a brochure with their prices. She accepts payments through Square and you can tip her on that as well. She accepted the Unilocal check-​in deal for my belly too!
I definitely recommend Ofelia to my friends here in Bakersfield and will be returning to Ofelia for my waxing needs.

Love em’ what a difference my lashes make! I feel pretty! Thank you Ofelia for taking your time and making my new lash extensions look perfect I can’t stop looking at them and most of all my husband noticed all by himself! They have a new wax that is great! When I’m in town this is my local spot to get my Brazilian!
