What horrible customer service! I walked in with a pocket full of money ready to buy a top of the line rc car and after I was treated like a punk kid I walked right out and will absolutely never spend a penny in there! The old guys were extremely rude! I do not recommend anyone spending their money in this establishment.

This is the only RC Hobby shop in town that I have seen, and that is disappointing because the owner is terrible and mean most of the time. He used to drink a lot — at the store — so you can probably attribute the rude behavior to his drinking problem. I would only suggest browsing in this store if you don’t mind the unfriendliness, because making any transactions is super time consuming and unpleasant.

Not dealing with the customer service. The fact that I cannot leave a building without being buzzed out guarantees I won’t be going back. I saw no manual way of overriding it in case of emergency which I am pretty sure is a requirement.

This is the worst place ever me and my husband came to the store to look for a car for our son and the older man was just comeplitly rude. He almost started a fight with my husband when he asked a question. Their customer service sucks they are not helpful at all and the only time their additude changed was when we bought 2 cars over $ 100 that’s when they decided to pay attention and be respectful we shall never again go to this place. a lot of good stuffs and fair price. the owner is not that friendly to non-regular and minorities. I only go there if I can’t find what I’m looking for elsewhere. there was this younger gentleman, he was great and very helpful, I haven’t seen him for awhile and I haven’t been back either.

I agree with Tracy completely in the previous review, the person at the store whom I assume is the owner was not very helpful to customers. I can’t say he was rude but he was definitely not welcoming or even acknowledged the other customers in the store. To his defense, he was helping someone at the time but when there are three other customers standing there waiting in line, he should at least address us after 15mins goes by as we are trapped in his store! Ya he has to buzz you out and in like it’s a jewelry store with hundreds of thousands in merchandise… Ya it’s a bad neighborhood but at least hire help or pay attention to the door to let people out that are tired of being ignored. There is a big selection of hobby items and prices are decent for an independent business of this type. In a pinch I would come here if I had lots of time to wait my turn, however, I’d rather order whatever it is online and pay the delivery just to avoid this level of service. Once again, the guy isn’t rude or mean, just real slow and not a multitasker.

Been in here a couple times now and I am really not that impressed. For one thing they really aren’t that friendly, not sure if its just me but it seems that in this kind of business they need to be friendly to everyone that walks in. They can take a long time to open the door, I understand the need to be careful in this area, however when you have someone standing at the door who has rung the bell and it still takes almost 45 seconds to open the door when there is no one else in the store and they are looking right at you something is wrong. I build plastic model airplanes and there is a lot of new models coming out all the time. If they want my business they need to have more then just the same old Revell kits and a few others. I can go online and get them delivered right to my house in under a week so what incentive do I have to come into your store if you aren’t going to have at least a few of the MANY new kits coming onto the market. Don’t get me wrong, I would like to support my local hobby shop but they have to work with me also. Its a two way street. I understand that they service more then just my hobby and they have a limited inventory, however with all the new models coming out they need to try to get some of them to entice people like me into their store.

Cool little shop on downtown Bako. Helped get my rc truck fixed at a decent price. Large selection of parts for rc cars, Trucks etc. Mostly full of rc planes and parts. If you need simple parts for a rc come to this shop.

I really enjoyed visiting this place! My boyfriend was really into RC planes in the past, and recently he decided he wanted to get back into it. Since we were in Bakersfield for the weekend, we made a visit to Doug’s.(We had gone to a couple hobby shops in LA/OC as well, but hadn’t found anything yet.) The guy we talked to, I’m assuming it was Doug, was incredibly knowledgeable about RC aircraft and gave some recommendations for planes, controllers, etc. to my boyfriend. He showed us the flight simulator software they were selling, and the bf and he chatted about planes they had/have, RC flying groups and locations, and their other RC airplane experience. Since we were focused on airplanes, I didn’t really notice a lack of cars, trucks, etc. as Kyle S. said in his review. But this is probably true. Most of what I saw in the store was related to planes, so I wouldn’t come here if you were looking some random RC car-related product.

Very poor selection of RC cars and even poorer knowledge of RC cars/trucks/buggy’s/ or off-road anything. This store is more about the air it appears. The two staff in the store at the time were very slow to open front door(there was not one other customer in the store) and very slow to acknowledge my presence and on top of that knew nothing about the hobby I was there to buy parts for(which was buggy’s, Monster trucks and short course trucks). It’s unfortunate that they are one of the only hobby shops in town…
