Five Dogs Range

This place is great. They have different shooting grounds for different firearms and they are all very spacious with lots of field to them. The guys here are awesome! They are friendly, relaxed, and very helpful. I’ll be sure to always come back to this range (:

Been coming out here about ten years and it has only gotten better and better. Staff are awesome, very helpful and just down right good people. The action shooters area in the back is a blast and great group of members. Great selection of ranges, we are lucky to have a place like this in kern county. Oh and try the hot dogs if you are there when they are cooking

Hands down the best place to shoot in Kern County.

I have been going to this range for a while now and I love it! The guys working the counter are great, good customer service, huge location, they have multiple ranges for different caliber firearms and usages, portable toilets, a shaded section to hang out at and the membership is really well priced. Unless they changed it, I payed $ 20 for a year membership and $ 10 for everytime you go and per person. The one setback is how during fire season we can not use steel ammo on the metal targets. It would be nice if they fire break the areas around the metal targets to avoid any fire hazards so we can use those metal targets. It’s the main reason I go out there to hear that plink! Lol, other then that I plan on being a member for a long time. Great shooting range guys!

I’ve been coming to 5 Dogs for years and it’s always been a great place to shoot. They have a wide variety of ranges to accommodate most weapons. Their staff is friendly, but are quick to call you out if you’re being unsafe. This visit was my first time trap/​skeet shooting and it was a blast.
FYI: bring plenty of water and sunscreen during the summer months.

So I’m here in the morning shooting my .22lr with my son when another family sits near us to shoot as well, while I was loading my clip and one of the kids in the family next to us shoots something other than the target and the bullet ricochets and hits my son in the chest, I complained and nothing was done. The same day me not paying attention was gonna accidentally shoot my 12g in the .22 area while I’m loading up a man next to me lets me know I’m in the wrong area when I look up at the watch ‘tower’ the employees is just watching me as if he was waiting for me to shoot and bird shots to ricochet all over the place, then come down and give me a warning or kick me out; for a place that works with/​around guns everyday you would think their more safety conscious. So that’s my complaints.

This place has serious but friendly workers. The place can cater to just about all your shooting needs. and with almost 600 yard range it’s plenty for me. We drove 3 hrs and were not disappointed. The cleanest out houses and even a sink to wash hands. They cooked up some hot dogs for lunch. We stayed at the rifle range all day but the pistol and shot gun ranges look fun too. They have plenty of steel targets for u to shoot and allow you to bring your own. The shooting tables are nicely spaced, so u aren’t get hit with hot brass from ur neighbor. I will try to frequent this range as much as I can.

My family and I always enjoy your time here. I love how they are family oriented and safety is their first priority.

I just went to this outdoor shooting range and I had such a great time! It’s on a beautiful piece of land, and this time of year all of the hills are so green. I thought the gentlemen who managed the range were extremely friendly and helpful. The range is spread out so you don’t feel cramped. There are different sections of the range depending on what type of firearm you have. The fees are also very reasonable. I highly recommend checking out this range if you enjoy shooting and the outdoors. It’s well worth the drive out to Woody Rd.
