Yum yum. I use to go here all the time. The Donuts are so good and fresh. I never tasted a stale donut from This location. The glaze Donuts are my favorite and my son loves the maple bars. Their prices are good too. I would for sure come back here again.

By far my favorite donut place in town! If you haven’t had their ham and cheese croissants, then you’re missing out. They always offer to warm it up for you and that’s really nice when you’re on the go! They go fast too so you gotta get them early! Very friendly owners and workers, they always give us great giant cinnamon raisin rolls for us when we order so awesome service!

The year has begun well, I missed coffee this morning and events called for a celebratory pastry. Two weeks ago Bakersfield’s Weekly Unilocal celebrated donuts. I noticed Foster at the top of the list. Since I’m in town I want to dive into and swim in the glory that is Baker’s Field. The weekly Unilocal inspired me to try donuts. Foster has a nice selection of plain and glazed donuts and bars. Then the specialty items like ham and cheese croissants and cocolate chip bars. One could go doughily insane here trying to decide what’s best. They also serve Pepsi carbonated products, coffee, iced mocha, caramel, etc. plus hot specialty coffees from the Farmer Brothers gourmet beverage machines. I sat at the six seat bar enjoying a blueberry cream cheese Danish and could not resist a plain buttermilk bar to go with my medium coffee. I also bought a dozen to share at home. An excellent celebratory pause in 2016.

Boy, Unilocal just did a ‘Great Donut Debate’ and this place was not mention at all. Can’t understand that. They definately have the best donuts in town. Only Smith’s can compare to them. I discovered them several years ago because they were conveniently just off the freeway on Ming and they have yet to dissapoint. And I have looked around quite a bit for a decent donut shop. Nice folks. Definately a best kept secret.

Delicious blueberry cake donut, and very cheap! I’ve been looking for a good blueberry donut for a while now and I finally found it.

Amazing donuts, my favorite place to go. Got recommended a blueberry donut today towards the end of my transaction, and the guy got me. Bought and loved it, amazing customer service and recommendation.

I’m not a fan of Fosters. Went around 8:00am to get a dozen and although they tasted good they should have been fresh at that hour. The staff(the one lady behind the counter) are nice and the place is relatively clean but the stale donuts at 8:00am closed the deal on any future dealings.

This is not about the donuts, and is only about this location. I was in Foster’s Donuts after work today. As I was turning to leave, in walked an obviously homeless young man, who asked the gal behind the counter(owner, I think?) for a glass of water. Just a simple glass of water. She said«we don’t have any» which we ALL know is a lie. She just didn’t want to be bothered with a homeless guy. So I turned back around, reached in the cooler, and grabbed a bottle of water, and told the gal behind the counter to get that young man any donut he wanted. Sheesh. How immoral of her to be so heartless. Will I be buying my donuts at Fosters again? Nope.

We stopped in to try this Fosters Donuts location because the Fosters on White Lane carries my favorite donut — the desert flower — and this location is more convenient. We didn’t end up buying one on this visit(the desert flower is more of a commitment than your average donut) but we did enjoy the donuts we purchased. The glazed donut was light and fluffy with a sweet glaze that held up pretty well without flaking all over us in the car. The chocolate frosted bar was also pretty tasty, with just enough frosting so that there was some for each and every bite. This donut store isn’t fancy, but the donuts they sell are pretty decent quality. I’d definitely stop in to satisfy my sweet tooth whenever I’m shopping down on Ming Ave.

Stopped here for some donuts. Got a cream cheese croissant and I must say it was very delicious. The only con about this place was there was no seating area. No chairs no tables at all!

I’m not passionate about donuts or donut shops. I’d prefer to spend my calories on something more decadent and less breakfasty. But I was in the area and hey, I was craving something sweet. We ordered a chocolate glazed, a banana nut muffin and one smiley face cookie. I only had my card, so when they rang up the order, they told me they’d only accept Visa for orders over $ 5. Grrrr. I try not to be petty but its pretty irritating to find that out right when you’re ready to pay. Why not add a «For orders over $ 5!» note under your credit card sign? I’ve seen it done. So I was forced to buy more pastries, not that I needed them. In goes two more happy face cookies(a Smith’s knock off). In the car, we. tried everything. Muffin was bad, and I never have bad muffins. The top was oddly chewy and the texture was unpleasantly dense. I’m pretty sure they used unripe bananas, flavor wasn’t there. Nuts were few, the biggest ones were plastered to that funky muffin top. The donut was good, not way better than any other place, but good. The happy face cookie was good. Not as great as Smith’s of course, but it was cute and tasty.

I would like to start by saying that this review is not of all Foster’s Donuts. Just this particular Foster’s Donuts. In fact, I shall have to write another review of my favorite Foster’s directly after this one. But enough with my disclaimer. The Foster’s on Ming Ave is highly disappointing. The donuts are fine. No, they’re better than fine. They’re amazing! But that is part of the problem. Those bastards sit in their ivory towers with their delicious donuts and then close the place up whenever they feel like it! The last two times I have tried to go there, the place has been closed. And its a 24-hour joint! Which, let me tell ya, is half the appeal. One time, they left a sign on the front door that said: «Sorry. We are closed. We ran out of donuts.» That was at 2 in the afternoon. And its not like they were in there making donuts either. What the hell?! The last time, I tried to go around midnight and it was closed yet again. This time, they had donuts. They were sitting prettily on their racks, taunting us beyond the locked door. Well no more will I drive to the Ming Foster’s just to be turned away! That’s probably not true. I’ll go back again… I need stronger convictions.
