Our never fail order is getting the double bacon cheese burger with fries because it tastes awesome. The lady at the counter we usually get is very friendly. The wait is pretty short for our order. This is our go to place when we’re craving a good burger and fries. :)

Excellent food! Great prices and the nicest staff, everybody here deserves a raise, especially the lady in the drive through window!!!

I’ve been eating at this place since it opened! It’s a family owned place that’s friendly, well priced and has great food!!! The food portions are out of this world large! From breakfast to bomb lunch and large dinners you can’t go wrong at this restaurant. The food is amazing! I work 20 minutes away and still trek there for lunch at least once to twice a week. When you go there say hello to Tina the blonde lady who has worked the counter for years she leery friendly and loves to talk!

One of the best family owned restaurants in town! They have been in business for over 20 years in Bakersfield. Friendly customer service makes you feel like family. Favorite items on the menu: Chicken gyro, French toast, Greek omelette, colossal burger, pastrami sandwich. I highly recommend this restaurant you can’t go wrong… Great food and doesn’t break the bank!

The dirtiest place we’ve ever eaten. It was filthy. There were huge Rubbermaid tubs filled with the refuse from earlier diners and their cleaning cloth– right near the front counter. Everything they were cooking was directly from the freezer or some other package. Probably from Costco. The guacamole was from a huge unrefrigerated jug. Disgusting. In the bathroom, there was a clogged toilet and cockroaches on the floor. We were just passing through without a lot of choices. I definitely would not recommend stopping here.

Awesome customer service. Great food and atmosphere. Feel very welcomed at the golden bull by all the staff :)

What the? WOW! I am basing this review on one item that was brought home to me from a road trip — the chicken burrito (extra spicy). It was made fresh to order through the drive thru and I think I was told it was only $ 6 or so. It was wrapped in such a way that it was still warm when it got home to me. Delicious! The extra spicy part were these really hot jalapenos (seeds and all) and when I ask for spicy, I am not usually so impressed but I was this time. Hubby even saw the guys making the chicken fresh on the grill for our wee order. I wish he had got his own %^&*(thing as I had to share mine but decent portion for the price.
I would go out of my way to go here to try out more of their food.
*Update — 2 stars off after a drive out there to grab some food from inside the restaurant. We likely should have left when we saw the back door open at the drive thru and at least 2 cats with their heads in the door. Went inside, not the cleanest nor most sanitary. Dirty buckets at eye level. Flies everywhere. Not one customer inside at 655pm. Customer service, not there. We get it, it may have been a long day and they close at 8pm but you are only as good as you last customer. We ordered the fried zucchini, bean burrito and 2 carne asada special. Nothing was that great. Zucchini had a hard chewy texture like corn meal. The fries had an odd spice flavor, not for me. The burrito underwhelmed (it hit the garbage) as did the tacos. The magic is gone for us, Golden Bull! If you do go, drive-​thru only!*

The service was fast. Nice people working there. The carne asada burrito was OK. My husband had a stake sandwich with fries and he liked it. If we are in the area we will probably stop and eat here again.

Usually get a burger and onion rings but today on the way to the beach my husband told me the owners were Greek, well that settled it, I of course ordered the lamb gyro. It was a AMAZING and anyone who says they don’t like the gyro here doesn’t really like Greek food. The lamb was prefect and the tzatziki was the perfect about of sour. I can’t post a picture because I ate the entire thing within minutes. I’ll never order anything else from this place and if you have an affinity for the taste of authentic Greek food, do yourself a favor and go get a lamb gyro from Golden Bull!!!
UPDATE: went and ordered the gyro again. Wasn’t as good this time. I think the trick is ordering extra tzatziki, it was dry this time. But still good.

Ate here on our way back to Vegas. Place has a ton of options, with that being said it’s hard to have fresh meats and produce. I ordered the gyro as it was recommended by the cashier. It was okay but the lamb looked like sausage patties. My girl got the chicken and it was dry and disgusting. She had to get a burger. It’s an okay place to stop if you can’t wait. Rosedale has a ton more options and it’s only about 8 minutes last.

I work right down the street so this is our go to spot. I really love their breakfast burritos! The club is delicious and the Ortega burger is really really good! Their chili fries are good and they are always very friendly. And you can watch while they are making your order. I would totally recommend it if you are on this side of town.

Everything I have had is amazing! We live way out Rosedale, and it is our go to spot on days we don’t feel like cooking! Ordered a cheese burger meal for my daughter today on my way out to her school, burger was amazing!!! Large portion of fries, and price you can’t beat!

The food is very good. My only complaint is that it seems they have not updated their prices in the drive-​thru menu. I say this because every time I order I calculate what I’m going to be charged and I end up paying way more. I have brought this to their attention a couple of times but it seems they don’t care. The only reason I keep going back is because it’s the only good hamburger place around my area.

I really like the fries here, but you have to order them «extra crispy»… they scoop up the fries and then double fry them… fantastic!
My only issue is that you can’t get water here without paying for it, they sell bottled water & sodas but no «tap water» (even though there are dozens of water glasses next to the machine).

Man. I have learned my lesson. Never, will I eat again at another restaurant that has a «pumping» truck parked at the back door. should have just turned around, but no. I was craving some bacon and bisquits and gravy. bacon was not very good, was very thin, limp, and had an odd taste. bisquits and gravy was marginally better. Service was fast and friendly though… As far as the pumping truck out back… not sure what they were pumping, but I guess it had something to do with the odd smell coming from the restaurant. Keep driving…

This place has the best fried zucchini I’ve ever had. It is always the same and you get a huge portion of it. Their pastrami sandwich is not bad either. Burgers are really good too. Actually everything we have ordered here has been really good, but I am a sucker for their zucchini. Bit of a drive off the beaten path but on our way out of town or if we just want to take a drive it is worth the drive.

Decided to stop by here for a quick bite. I had the pastrami sandwich and some french fries. The meal wasn’t bad. Nothing great, but I can’t complain. I had been eyeing a tray of baklava which was sitting on the order counter. After finishing my meal, and some persuasion from the lady behind the counter… I decided to give it a try. I must say that the baklava was really good!
If you’re ever in the area, I’d suggest stopping in for a quick bite also. It’s on the corner of Enos Lane and Rosedale Hwy heading towards Buttonwillow. The lady (maybe the owner) behind the counter was helpful and friendly. Go on in and try the food for yourself.

Between Buttonwillow and Bakersfield is the Golden Bull. The Breakfast burrito is huge and satisfying and perfectly done, hot off the grill! The chili verde is tasty and chunky and makes a wonderful burrito. for my taste it is third best in the big valley, and that is a really good rating, from all the chili verdes I have tried. Stop in for that snack or lunch or breakfast on the way in or out of town, all you need after a meal here is a siesta! Ahh, a good siesta!
