I had the pleasure of shopping here today, not just once but twice! When we arrived, we were greeted by a few people that were working there. Everyone was very friendly. During our time here, we were asked by several people if we needed any help. I was informed during my second visit today that most of the employees are volunteers. It was crazy to find that out because of the great customer service I received while in the store. The employees went out of their way to help me and my friend in anything we needed. I purchased a pallet of roof tiles. There were about 50 to 60 roof tiles on the pallet. The employees loaded all of the roof tiles into my car. You can’t find better customer service than that! I had a wonderful conversation with Todd who runs the store. He talked to me about what Habitat for Humanity does, how they give to the community, and what they offer. He also spoke about how the store looked previously and the changes he’s made since starting with the organization. This store has a lot to offer at very good prices. Their clothing selection is growing. But, they sell paint, appliances, sinks, toilets, file cabinets, furniture, and so much more! The organization also takes donations and I plan on bringing my donations here the next time I have some. Consider this yourself. Such a great organization to support!

In the past I have shopped at this store and found their selection good and prices excellent. With that said though if I could give zero stars I would. They advertise on their website they pick up donations on Saturdays. I call to schedule a pick up and they only offer one Saturday a month. So I schedule it for a Tuesday morning and informed her I would be at work but would leave it outside. Tuesday morning comes and I get three calls back to back. I answer on third call and the lady informs me she cannot find my house. She reports she has my address but cannot find the house. I live in a normal neighborhood with correct signage and have never had a problem with people fining my home. After trying to help her for ten minutes I give up and tell her I hope she is able to find it but I am work and cannot spend anymore time assisting her. I get home Tuesday night and the building supplies are still in my driveway.

I enjoy a good treasure hunt. But I greatly dislike massive disorganization and large groups of people. I tend to avoid most mega sales at the mall which require me to push my way through ignorant parents and their overly large strollers. Discount department stores are fine in moderation, and I enjoy shopping without worrying about whether or not it’ll be cheaper next week due to some sale. I’m a lazy shopper. Lazy and cheap. I want a good deal and I want it now. Oh, and I’d like to feel good about my purchase, too. A little warm and fuzzy feeling, please. So let’s get this straight. I’m a lazy, cheap, and emotionally involved buyer. That’s not too much to ask for, right… Actually, it’s not! Habitat for Humanity ReStore does that and more! It’s an amazing place that so many people don’t know about. Goodwill is great, and so is the Salvation Army; but, where else can you find brand new items for your house, for up to 75% off retail? I mean, brand new. Maybe a few scratches from transport, but it’s nothing that 50−75% off can’t fix. ReStore carries everything from home furnishings, to building materials. Last time I visited they had a huge selection of solid wood doors. In a variety of sizes. Tons of brand new ranges and stoves. A huge selection of perfect white dinner sets. Even a small section dedicated to nuts, bolts, screws, and all those building things. It’s a treasure trove of home things. You never know what you’ll find here, and that’s the beauty! Things come and go very quickly. They will hold items, but it’s best that you bring plenty of cash along. My favorite find(although not purchased) was a beautiful solid black leather couch straight from the pages of a Pottery Barn catalog. It had a big SOLD marking across the measly $ 150. Yeah, $ 150 for a 7 foot couch. Out of curiosity I looked online. There it was at $ 1200. The paints are also a great deal. Tons of gallons in modern colors. Even paint brushes and all the accessories required… screw the paint! I’m still thinking about that couch! The entire purpose of ReStore is to sell extra purchased and donated materials that go to their Habitat for Humanity projects. It maintains a cash flow for the local group that goes right back into the community, all while providing great items at super low prices for buyers. It also keeps things from potentially going into local landfills. Eco-friendly and philanthropic? I just can’t handle this awesomeness! If you’re doing some home renovations, or needing a few household items, save yourself the hassle and stop by ReStore. I can’t guarantee you’ll find exactly what you need, but I can guarantee satisfaction in knowing a place like this exists.
