His Waters Laundromat

Very clean laundromat. Decided to come here while I wait for the dryer at home to be repaired. Plenty of washers and dryers available on a Thursday afternoon. Washed three loads and put each one in a separate dryer. Two cycles on the HOT setting later (12 minutes), my clothes are still VERY damp. Each cycle is twenty-​five cents for six minutes. It took $ 3 to dry three loads. Now, it has been a while since I’ve had to visit a laundromat so I don’t remember if this pricing is normal but I feel each dry cycle should be a little longer.
First and last time for me at this business.

Pros: no pesky quarters, they take debit cards yay. Friendly staff member walking around constantly sweeping, helping people find carts, explaining the card system to people. That’s a nice change. It was very busy when I went so I was impressed his service remained in tack. Lots of benches which is nice. Big park like benches. Very clean, machines look well taken care of. Good amount of carts as well.
Cons: folding space. I was surprised to see one counter for folding in this size laundry mat. Be prepared to fold while sitting on those benches. This is the only reason i didn’t give it 5 stars. Also seems like there isn’t enough dryers. Most of the washers are multi load washers. Like I said it was busy when I was there. Plenty of washers but had a 2 – 3 minute wait for a dryer. I asked someone else (who was a regular) and they said they didn’t remember it ever being that busy. So maybe just a weird time.
Overall one of the cleanest and most well maintained machines I have seen in a long time. I will come back for sure.

The door lists hours as «Last load 9:30» (close at 10), but I was turned away at 9:15 with half a laundry basket of wet clothes, even after explaining to the guy that I only needed the dryer for 20 minutes.

Washer machine broke needed to wash 6 loads of towels (for detailing cars) this place did the job. They take credit cards large washing machines it was kind of weird that it is a Christian laundromat probably the only Christian laundromat ever but I would use again.

Went in to wash my comforter. What I thought would be a simple process turned into quite a waste of time. The employee who «helped» me ended up not listening to my needs and I walked out with a $ 10 refund. I explained I had no cash on me, I needed to know if I could wash my comforter and I also needed laundry detergent. He ended convincing me to purchase a $ 10 debit charge to get a prepaid card and then had no way for me to purchase detergent. Thus the refund. I left the same way I entered — with a dirty comforter.

Benches and tables.

We were in town to attend a church and needed a place to do laundry. This laundry mat was so nice and clean. The card system was easy to figure out. The music was appropriate and it was nice for my kids to watch the movie while I did laundry. The washers and dryers were fast.

Very clean, machine work great. I come here to wash all the towels after swimming and I am get about 4 loads of towels washed in the 6 load machine and dried in about a hour.
They always have a kids movie playing or neutral music playing.
Staff can work on their people skills, but other than that I would recommend it.

First time here; been 3 years since was in a laundromat (lengthy vacay); just sold our house, finished moving & no washer/​dryer in our RV, so here we are!
Was pleasantly surprised at cleanliness, but no warning on the door to let us know their a/​c was out. We were already unloaded, had purchased our operating card and figured we could stick it out (our car said it was 107℉ out). The owner came in, very apologetic and personable; gave everyone there water from the vending machine!
Have a STRONG feeling we’ll be back several times until our Tehachapi house closes!

This place is very clean and conveniently located. Plenty of washers and dryers. However, if you come when its busy you may have to wait for one. They are card operated which I love. No more counting quarters! They also provide vending machines for snacking. Sometimes they play movies on big screen but is a little hard to see when playing during the day time. Otherwise bring books to read or you may get bored waiting for your laundry to get done.

This Laundromat is well maintained and the staff is efficient and helpful. There is always an employee on premise if you have any questions which makes me wonder why the person who gave a one star review didn’t ask for help when she was clearly mistaken about the card operating system. There is a one time DEPOSIT of $ 2 that you will get back when you turn your card in to the employee who works there. There is no automatic deduction as the other reviewer stated. The entire property is well lit with a cheerful atmosphere: there is music, vending machines, and nice bathrooms that are fully stocked. I would highly recommend this Laundromat to anyone.

This is the best laundromat in Bakersfield, probably the nicest laundromat I’ve ever seen.
I used to go here years ago when I didn’t have a washer/​dryer, and my experience has always been great. I went back there about a month ago to wash some tablecloths from my wedding reception. I came here after trying another laundromat that had only two of the mega-​sized washers (Wash & Dry on Ming & Ashe). Unlike the other one, it’s not near a liquor store, so you won’t see any shady drunks hanging around.
It’s a bit techy (they have videos to show you how to use the cards). When the owner is there, he is very helpful. No coin operated machines, but you have to use cards that contain a smart chip. You can add money to the cards with cash or credit card. They require a $ 2 deposit to cover the cost of the card (in case you don’t return it), but you can always get your $ 2 back when you’re done by turning it in to a worker on staff.
They have a lot of washers and a ton of dryers along the back & side walls. I think the sizes of the washers (or at least model numbers) were 300, 400, 900, and 1200. Something like $ 3, $ 4, $ 6, $ 8, respectively. They didn’t have any upright washers. The dryers take a moment to figure out: you have to remove and reinsert the card and press the «Start» button to add another 25 cents (adds 6 mins).
The place is very clean. It was built by a welder (I think that’s what he said, years ago), and has a sturdy/​industrial feel to it. There’s a big screen up high near the entrance and usually plays kid-​friendly movies, which help pass the time.
The owner asked if anyone had a red honda, which was mine. It had a scratch/​dent on the side and he said I won a free detail, «every fourth customer,» since he said he used to work as an auto-​detailer. I think he was making it up, but figured he’s just trying to help his business. I noticed later he got the scratch out (although still dented). Still it was very kind of him and shows that he is willing to go the extra mile with his customers.

I can’t even give this place one star, but since Unilocal won’t let me post this without some kind of rating, there you go. One star. I’d give it half or quarter star if I could. I was very disappointed when I had to do laundry here. It is card operated, which should be no big deal. BUT! I had to buy a new card, then load the card, and there is a sign up which states that each time you load the card it automatically deducts $ 2 from your total. WHAT?! I was beside myself angry, but in a pinch because I was sick & didn’t have time or energy to go to my usual laundromat.
The place was fairly clean, as I saw no roaches or other friendly critters running around. But then again, it was dark inside & did not give off good vibes at all. There is a jumbo-​tron screen above the entrance inside so you are supposed to be able to watch whatever movie they put on that day. However, the screen was dark, so you couldn’t see anything. They were playing «Brave» so at least my son & I got to hear the movie. Not some place I will be returning nor recommending.
