The Neptune Society seemed like a perfect choice, all inclusive and a very reasonable price. Granted it was the holiday’s as my father-in-law passed away on Christmas Eve. But we were all in town from out of state trying to handle affairs. The Neptune Society took their sweet time with cremation and getting death certificates. They weren’t willing to help us out at all since we couldn’t stay in California for weeks on end. Then the lady(not sure her name) tried to take MORE money from us. She claimed my father-in-law weighed over 300 lbs and so there would be an additional charge of $ 261. When we told her the coroner’s office has he weight down as 250 lbs, she let it go. She was trying to get more money out of us during a difficult time by assuming we would just pay all fees and not question anything. They caused more of a headache than anything and I wouldn’t recommend this location during your time of need. They obviously don’t care about you losing a loved one, just how much money they can get out of you.

The Neptune Society is very poorly managed and I would be careful and get every detail in writing. They are not as reputable as they claim be careful.

This is a second-hand review, which is not supposed to be the permitted on Unilocal. So rather then giving my brother-in-law’s run-down of the problems he had while making arrangements for my mother, I’ll just summarize two results… My brother-in-law is going to write his«final wishes» stating that he can be cremated by anyone except the Neptune Society. And a mix-up in paperwork has resulted in a delay in getting death certificates, with the original being«corrected» by an amendment.
