Jo G. You’re quite funny. I vividly remember your phone call. You have never been one of our customers. You bought used gear from a 3^rd party and expected us to buy it from you? Have you bought a used dress that was once sold by Macy’s and then tried to get Macy’s to buy it back from you?
Sure, we care about money. That’s how we stay in business. We also care about our students, especially those who are hurting financially. We have given gear to students who are truly in need. We currently sponsor about 100 kids at our downtown location. This sponsorship means the kids attend class 100% free!
You forgot to mention the part in your review where you got hateful and rude when I told you I would not buy the gear…

I tried to give less then one star but Unilocal does not give that option. I do not like giving bad reviews and a company really has to work for it to get one from me but this was the most unprofessional behavior from a business I have had in a long time.
I knew nothing about this business before trying to speak to them. It only took a 3 minute phone call to figure out that this is a business that is all about making money off of people. They are incredibly unprofessional and said the rudest things to me.
I had called the company to see if they would consider buying back their equipment and duffle bag that has their name and logo embroidered on it. I told him I had bought it from a family to help them out over Christmas and was hoping to recoup the $ 25 I paid for it. He immediately got defensive and laughed and said no, but you can donate it back to me so i can resell it to someone.
I said so your just all about the money and do not care to help people out? He says «oh you can say that while you hide behind a phone but would not have what it takes to come here and say that. » What??? I am a woman… a grandma. and this man is trying to provoke me into a fight? Seriously??? This is the guy that is teaching these kids how to defend themselves if absolutely necessary. He spends his time trying to prove his manhood by picking fights with a grandma. That would really be a feather in your cap to kick my butt huh? smh Just curious. since you work with children. do you also feel it would make you a big man if you hurt them?
I do not recommend this company to anyone. The maturity needed to teach someone martial arts is lacking in this individual… stay far, far away from there if you want to learn the right mind set that is needed for this skill. The bravado and puffery he has existed is a disgrace for anyone who is a serious business man in the field.
