I had my very first Paleta ever here and it was amazing! :) You really can’t have a regular popsicle again after you have had one of these. Tons of flavors and many filled with fruit. My favorites are strawberry and cream(Fresca), coffee and guayaba. You can either get them water based or milk based. Both are delicious. They also serve a bunch of other items(maybe too many) Parking is tough — they should eliminate one space and give all the other spaces a few more inches. I have only one minor complaint. One is that the last time I was here there was a big line and the ladies behind the counter were moving so slow! During the summer I try to get over here at least twice a month

All their paletas are delicious! Try them all! We love stopping by and going to the panadería after. I’ve also tried their chips with chamoy and peanuts etc.

Yes, the parking is terrible, but it is WELL worth the struggle. I had the queso fresas(cheese and strawberry, I know!) ice cream and it was out of this world delicious. At $ 2/scoop, this could be a terrible habit! I’m looking forward to future trips to try their huge variety of flavors.

Don’t let the fact that’s it’s a hole in the wall, it has shitty parking or limited tables. If your looking for ice cream get there!!! This place is awesome. I can’t get enough of the vanilla ice cream dipped in chocolate with coconut. Omg. Just describing it makes me want to go back again. Everything here is so good. I have never gone in and it not be busy. It’s that good. I really like that they stay open pretty late for an ice cream shop. I highly recommend you try this.

Paletas… I believe that is the correct spelling. Refreshing and lovely is what I have experienced here so far. I have tried a few of the choices like Chile Mango, Chile Pina and Chicle! All are so addicting and provides some childhood flashback memories for me. The ladies here are very nice and welcoming, which makes a world of a difference when trying a new place. They do offer other things like tortas, nachos and traditional ice cream as well as milkshakes & smoothies. Why 4 stars and not 5? Well I haven’t tried as much I want to but what I have tried has been memorable!!! I will return soon to try others.

This shop is on a corner lot shopping plaza and was a little difficult to find without my GPS. It’s a small shop that does not look like they would serve delicious Mexican popsicles but they do. I ordered a Milanesa sandwich and my toddler just wanted a strawberry popsicle covered with bits of colorful candy at $ 3. I took a bite of her popsicle and it was delicious much better than Costco’s popsicle brand La Rosa. It looks like they use real fruit and they also have plain popsicles without chocolate or candy covering at $ 1.50 each. Their popsicles are delicious and perfect during Bakersfield’s hot summer months.

2nd time coming and I’m not disappointed at all… The palletas takes me back to my childhood in the streets of Delano/Earlimart when people would come around the block w a pushcart full of popcicles aka la rosa bars. The only thing different is that the la rosa bars were not as memorable as the popcicles here. The fresh fruits that they use are incredible!!! Will I be back? Of course I will! Too bad it’s a 10min drive to get here, but totally worth it! Can’t wait til my next visit to try something new! I totally recommend this place if you haven’t tried it yet! You’re totally missing out if you haven’t tried their popcicles. I’m a big strawberry fan so both the fresa crema and the fresa queso was no joke and«melt in your mouth» delicious! Definitely feeling the fresh fruits!

A great summer treat. I’m sure they have more than vanilla paletas, but why mess with success. I’ve had bites of the fresca, and a few others that were all pretty tasty but my order never changes. They have a few different ice cream flavors & drinks that I always intend to try but it hasn’t happened yet. The only drawback is the horrendous parking lot, the spaces are narrow and there are not that many of them. At 1.50/paleta I would have a fairly expensive habit of they were located closer to home.

I absolutely love this place. The staff is always very friendly and attentive. I’ve tried many of their flavors of paletas, from the milk based arroz con leche to the water based ones like mango and chile. This establishments offers other bites to eat such as tortas and nachos as well as tasty Mexican beverages. Love it!

Wow, I can’t believe I had never been here befor. This place was recommended by a friend. This place has SOMANY choices but I ended up enjoying a «nance» paleta. Next time I shall have some of their icecream. Service was friendly, all the refrigerated icecream looked very delicious, clean and cold. Tables and chairs were also clean.

Stop EVERYTHING you’re doing and get over here. Well, maybe put on some pants. But get a move on it because you need to be here! If you think sno cones were the official treat of Summer, allow me to blow your mind and introduce you to this amazing gem of a Paleteria. For those that are Spanish challenged(for shame! We live in Cali!) Paleta is a Popsicle. So yes, this store is a Popsicle store. That’s right. A store whose main purpose is to serve you delicious homemade Popsicles. None of that Big Stick, push-up stuff. These are La Rosa bars on crack. I’m surprised the first one isn’t free, because these paleta’s can cause some serious addiction issues. Fruit based or cream based. Covered in chocolate, nuts, sprinkles or all of the above. The choices are endless and everything a winner. My favorite this week: Guayaba! Mind. Blown.

This place is just awesome if you like ice cream or ice cream bars. It is a hole in the wall place in a shopping center across the street from a former Wal-Mart, but don’t let that sway you. All of their ice cream bars are freshly made. They have normal flavors, fruit flavors with fresh fruit, some are chocolate covered, and others are chocolate covered with different types of nuts. I got a strawberry bar, covered in chocolate, and then covered in walnuts. It was the best bar I’ve ever had in my life! The thing was completely covered in great tasting chocolate and then 100% covered in large, fresh walnuts. Every bite was consistent with all three flavors. I also got a homemade horchata. I love horchata and this was one of the top 3 that I’ve ever had. Light and refreshing, not too heavy or sweet. My only complaint is that I didn’t have more room for another serving. I will be back this summer, multiple times.

This place was exactly what I expected. A small hole in the wall local business that has mastered their craft. I have followed a few of my favorite Unilocalers to this place and I was happy that I did. This place was small with just a few tables but the choices were plentiful. They offered samples of anything which was nice since my kids were curious about a few ice cream flavors. They each decided to be boring and one got chocolate and the other got vanilla but they were both flavored well as I enjoyed a bite of each. My hubby got the strawberry paleta dipped in chocolate and covered in pecans and a glass of horchata both he raved about. I finally decided on the strawberries and cream paleta and was not disappointed. It was delicious and the chunks of strawberries really made it awesome. I’m only kicking myself that I didn’t have a cooler to take some home in because I really want to try more flavors but in this heat they would have been soup by the time we got home. Note for next time for sure because we will be back!

Selfishly, I have not written a review for my favorite ice cream shop in Bakersfield. Paleteria y Neveria la Nueva Michoacana is not fancy. Basically, it is a little hole in the wall shop. Find them in the strip mall on the corner of Hughes Rd. and White Lane. This little plaza gets packed and parking could be a problem sometimes. The shop is tiny with just a few tables. We have always had helpful and friendly service here. The ice cream flavors and the paletas(Popsicles) are yummy! I believe the make all their ice cream flavors and paletas at one of their other locations. They also have other food and drinks such as agua fresca and fruit mixta available. Ice cream is yummy and affordable! $ 4.75 for four scoops of homemade ice cream, Two scoops for $ 3.00, or 3 scoops for $ 4. They give good portions too. Currently, my favorite flavors are Chongos, Fresca y crema, Pistachio, and Fresca y queso. They are creamy deliciousness! Mango is more of a sorbet. Still good, though. Paletas are $ 1.50 each. The exceptions are the chocolate dipped paletas. Those are priced higher. Some paletas are water based, and some are milk crème based. They are all tasting good to very good! Have tried over half their choices of which there are many. My personal favorite is the Nuez. If you Iike ice cream and Popsicles, then head on over here. They are the best in town(in my opinion). ;)

OHMYFREAKINGGOD!!! This place is amazing! I am a huge popsicle fan and the paletas I had from both Bakersfield and Arvin locations were amazing. I wish they were located in San Francisco! Sandia, coconut, pistachio, and chile mango were my favorites but ALL of them are good!

I’ve now found stores with this same name and appearance multiple places. Signage says, «Since 1936.» Consider it the 31 Flavors of Mexico, brought to our neighborhoods. Of course there are paletas, lots of flavors. Richard D. can fill you in if you’re uninitiated. Leslie T. gives the flavor review: strawberry, hibiscus, tamarind, mango, watermelon. I assure you there is also pineapple, coconut, and probably piña colada. There’s also a host of ice cream and sherbet flavors, shaved ice, and other Mexican desserts and snacks. It is worthy of your time and palate.
