We decided to eat here on our lunch break, and upon returning to the office we found several baby roaches in the jambalaya! We returned to get a full refund and of course they obliged. If I could give negative 5 stars I would! Never eating here again.

Where do I start, first of all the gal who took my order wasn’t very pleasant. She didn’t smile one bit and just stared at me with no emotion. I order a combo and asked for a cup of ice. She stated we don’t give out a cup of ice? Are you kidding me? To me, that’s extremely cheap that you can’t even give your customer a cup of ice. I’m very disappointed and won’t be back to this cheap company.

I was craving chicken strips, and usually enjoyed popeyes. So my friend and I went anticipating a very flavorful meal. Boy were we disappointed. The meat was tough and the strips practically tasteless. If we hadn’t been so hungry we would have taken them back. From now on popeyes won’t be at the top of our list when looking for chicken. The place was empty so we got our order fast and the employee was neither good or bad. I won’t say I wouldn’t recommend them but I wouldn’t wholeheartedly endorse them either.

This is the only Popeyes location I go to. The service is okay, food is good. I always get the chicken strip meal and it’s never a long wait. Sometimes the biscuits are a little hard on the edges. The mashed potatoes are my favorite though.

The chicken here is OK, and the sides were acceptable. Typical fast food. What matters here is the location, which is to say, TERRIBLELOCATION. The inside of the building is nice and provides a few seats; this place is probably geared towards the drive-thru and to-go customers. For whatever reason, the restrooms are located OUTSIDE, in the back, and require a key from the staff. And in this neighborhood, I’d rather not chance it. Keep driving a couple of miles and there is a much nicer Popeyes in a much nicer location.

First impression, wow why is this so much more expensive than any other popeyes? Second impression: ok, I usually have to wait for the tenders anyway… so I dont mind waiting 5 minutes and pulling to the side. Waited 10 minutes realized sodas are flat had to go in and change them myself. Coke was good but sprite was all carbonation. Not the popeyes chain biscuit I usually get. Nice service though. Roach right outside door so prob inside too… wouldn’t come back I dont think

I was in here at 9:48 last Friday evening and they were turning customers away with the excuse that they only have 12 pieces of chicken and only green beans and red beans and rice, Whoever owns this store should know that His/Her employees are turning customers and money away. The sign on the door says they are open till 10:00, not«about 9:48». A very bad way to do business, especially on Friday. Anyhow they must be driving customers away, I saw several leave. The menu should be available up untill closing time, no bullshit excuses from a bunch of «lames» led by a slacker. What is with the management to allow such crap. I would NOT recommend this place after 9:00.

When it comes to fast food, Popeyes is usually my top choice for chicken. I’ve been to a few of the other locations in town and always have positive experiences. This location is 5 minutes from work and that is the only thing going for it. The biggest problem here is the quality of the food. The ingredients are the same you would get at any other Popeyes location. Unfortunately, the odds are high your chicken and fries have been sitting under a heating lamp by the time they get to you. My order is often bagged by the time I get to the window, even when I’m the only one in the drive-thru! This is a case where I’d happily wait for 4 – 5 minutes rather than get dried out, lukewarm food. Also, service has been fairly poor at this location. I received the wrong drink during one visit and got an eyeroll from the cashier when I asked for the correct drink. It was that point I asked for my money back and took my business elsewhere. The last source of frustration is with condiments. My usual request is 2 ranches, 1BBQ. This has never been a problem at the Gosford Rd location. When I have requested this in the past, the manager acted like I was trying to rob him. I was angrily told, «Fine then, but next time if you want more than two sauces you’ll have to pay for it!» I offered to do so at the time, but was just given a dirty look. I have no problem paying for an extra sauce if it is outside of your standard policy. But if you don’t POST your policy, I can’t anticipate it. Maybe try politely informing the customer before taking offense. I would love to give this place my business, but they don’t seem to want me there.

I like Popeye’s chicken, but I am not crazy about this location. Both times that I’ve been here it has taken almost 30 minutes to receive my order. I ordered 8 piece family meals each time. Other people who ordered after me were getting their food first. When I asked the clerks what’s taking so long? All I get is «I’m sorry, but your order will be ready soon.» Oh well, at least the food was still delicious. The food itself is worth 4 stars. I’ll continue to be a patron here, but not at this particular branch.

Each time I visit Bakersfield I have lunch here. I have never had a bad experience nor have I had a WOW experience. The staff greets you and smiles. My food is always fresh and have not had any complaints. I have never seen the manager and have been told the manager is the franchise owner. Either way my visits are normally the same. The only thing I wish they would consider and this is for most popeyes fill your cup with the side items for the $ 2.09 price.

Dear Popeyes, What’s up with all the mixed signals? I came here 2 Tuesdays ago and you gave me the best fast food fried chicken I could have hoped for– and all for 99 cents per two pieces. I come back again today and you tell me the deal is no more. Can you please make up your mind? Sincerely, Me

Stopped by and grabbed the 5 piece for 4.99 deal. I can say I was a little disapointed with 2 wings, a thigh that wasnt any bigger, a leg that was broken in half, and a breast that was. well it didnt look like a breast. same flavor so its consistent but quality was lacking big-time! It’s not my first disapointment from a Popeyes — I seem to be gravitating more and more towards Church’s Chicken…
