Studio 9 Dance

My husband and I were going here for swing dance lessons on Wednesday evenings for a while until work got crazy on us. The instructor who teaches the classes is very knowledgable, skilled, friendly, and good at TEACHING. A lot of the people who go to the classes all know each other (and the instructor), and they create a feeling of community rather than cliques, making you feel comfortable learning a new skill rather than self-​conscious.
You don’t have to go as a couple, but it is encouraged, simply because it seems that there are more women that show up than men, and the steps are different for different genders, but you’ll see a lot of women take over the men’s roles just to balance things out. After you learn a few new steps, you’ll rotate through partners to practice what you’ve learned. It sounds scary but it’s a lot of fun!
The lessons were super affordable. I really wish we had the time to go back. I absolutely loved it!

This is the only air-​conditioned dance studio in town which says a lot with our weather. I have been teaching there for five years and there are a large variety of teachers who teach every kind of dancing from ballroom to country-​western to salsa. It is a family-​friendly place to go with very reasonable prices. I highly recommend Studio 9 if you’re looking for a fun and cool place to learn to dance.
