This superior grocers is not so busy if you come at night time. You find what you need here and they have good prices on the products. No complains whatsoever.

I always go here to buy my produce. They have good sales and fresh delicious fruit. Fairly clean, sometimes it can get crowded at checkout depending on time of day. On the other hand, there’s the convenience of a Wells Fargo bank inside so it’s a plus.

Three and half Unilocal stars plus for Great seafood and produce prices. Especially Wed n Thurdays. Easily 50 – 70 shoppers most times. Plus. Peoples here buys fruits by the Bag loads. Parking lot is a mad house. So many customers. If you want near Empty Parking lots… Go to Haggen’s mkt. I’ve shopped at Bakersfield’s three Vallarta mkts often. Superior and Vallarta each have their own personality and grocer’s emphasis. Both stores are very busy.

It’s a large, very clean supermarket. From the flyers I get in the mail, I thought it was a Hispanic market. By walking inside the store, they have a variety of ethnic brands and goods. The prices are much better than your Ralphs or Vons, especially the veggies and fruits section and the meat department. Their produce definitely is a good reason to stop by, I got 7 avocados for a dollar. Mangoes and peaches, fresh quality, super cheap. Can get many fruits for a very good price. Good enough to make this a once a week place for your grocery shopping needs.

I have been a loyal customer to this grocery store for the past 2 years, and for a few months now I’ve noticed the produce is not that fresh anymore. If you want fruits or vegetables you practically have to dig through, to find the best one. I am not the only one complaining, I’ve came across a costumers that complain as well. As for me i wont be returning here anymore.

If you’re traveling to the Kern River, this is a great place to come by to pick up food supplies. It’s a super market grocery store chain which has a diverse selection, fresh food and good pricing overall. This has a Hispanic /Latin /Mexican flavor to it, but aside from Ethnic Specialty Items, there’s also mainstream American brand products and cross cultural cuisine, so there’s something for everyone here. Parking is easy, and there’s lots of it in Bakersfield.

On Wednesday and Thursdays every week try have there biggest sale on veggies and certain other items. Chicken is cheap sometimes .79 a pound CHEAP!!! Eggs, milk, corn, bananas, strawberries an so many more I come once a week and spend 70.00 or less for a week of food, good store to take your coupons to as well

This is a supermarket with a Mexican flavor. They have a good selection of Hispanic-oriented products, but your standard grocery store fare as well. Prices are better than Albertsons, especially on produce. Service is acceptable.

Pricing isn’t as good as I hoped, but for my MEXICAN food items… this is the spot. I like getting the raw tortillas and passing them off as «HOMEMADE» when serving them with dinner. The meat department is decent, but I like going to a more Carnerceria style meat market. You kinda’ need to speak spanish somedays, and the customers seem as rude as the staff. I’ll be back, just because of those dang tortillas, otherwise I am heading back to VONS.

Always great deals on produce! Excellent weekly ads on meats, etc! they dont have ALL the items that a big name market would have, but theyre great for the staples. Check the ads for their Wednesday and Thursday specials, and sometimes the Sat-Sun sales also!

I’ve been getting ads for this place for a while and have been tempted to go because they constantly have great sale prices on meat, mainly beef and chicken. I finally went the other day, it wasn’t bad. It’s like a really toned down ranch market. Just so I’m clear it is a mexican style ethnic market. They make fresh tortillas and have a great meat counter. The chicken I got was 1.49/lb which is a great price and really good quality, better than most. I mention this because every time i’ve bought cheap chicken from Vons it’s horrible quality, it hardly even counts as chicken. They have some really good sale prices but it seem like everything else is over priced by a lot. I would only come here for a few specific things if they had a good sale and do normal shopping some where else.
